The challenge in managing e-waste will be in developing sustainable recycling tech- nologies that are able to address the volume and complexity of this waste using cost effective and ecologically sen-sitive methods. In this study, the capability or microorganism metabolic acids in dissolving the metallic tractions from waste printed circuit boards was examined. Several factors were considered in the examination of the activityof the acids-including secondary reactions, solution pH, temperature and the nature of ligands in solutions (or bioacid constituents). The leaching tests were cgnducted ex-situ, using synthetic organic acids. Leaching was performed for periods of up to 6 hat 70-90 ℃ and 1000 r-min-1.展开更多

Rapid improvements in multislice CT scanners over the last decade have allowed this technique to become a potentially effective alternative to invasive coronary angiography in patients with suspected coronary artery disease. High diagnostic value has been achieved with multislice CT angiography with use of 64- and more slice CT scanners. In addition, multislice CT angiography shows accurate detection and analysis of coronary calcium, characterization of coronary plaques, as well as prediction of the disease progression and major cardiac events. Thus, patients can benefit from multislice CT angiography that provides a rapid and accurate diagnosis while avoiding unnecessary invasive coronary angiography procedures. The aim of this article is present an overview of the clinical applications of multislice CT angiography in coronary artery disease with a focus on the diagnostic accuracy of coronary artery disease; prognostic value of coronary artery disease with regard to the prediction of major cardiac events; detection and quantification of coronary calcium and characterization of coronary plaques. Limitations of multislice CT angiography in coronary artery disease are also briefly discussed, and future directions are highlighted.展开更多

Also from the ancient age, we, humans, knew to mix colors with oil to draw. Materials at the time, however, were very gross with many shortcomings and limitations. Over the time, many generations of painters have taken great pains to search for materials and craped for paint. Nevertheless, only until the age of Van Eyck brothers (around 1390-1441) they gained great success in accomplishing and developing oil-painting techniques. Oil-painting colors until this age got purer, brighter, shinier, waterproof, sustainable, and endurable with time. Since then, oil-paint has been widely used in almost countries worldwide. It can be said that the accomplishment of oil-paint is a great technical revolution that changes and enhances the picture painting art. The painting ofoil in English means oil painting. It is the kind of the most popular and favorite pictures. It is called as the name of painting material. Oil paint finally became the key tool for painters to transfer into artistic works.展开更多

It is a profound transformation of techno-economic paradigms, imbedded in the technology, management, and institutional systems. As this revolution deepens, it is likely that manufacturing and the manufacturing sector would acquire new definitions. In addition, the resource foundation and factor structure, which are central to the competitiveness of a nation and an enterprise, would perhaps be reconfigured, hence rewriting the landscape of global industrial competition. Under this scenario, the "smiling curve '" which used to portray the economic features of the value chain, may change into a "silence curve" or even "sadness curve ". The catching- up pathway of latecomer countries, as predicted by the traditional 'flying geese model", is likely to be blocked, solidifying the division of"core and periphery countries" which is unfavorable to developing countries. Industrial competition between countries would move from competition between enterprises and supply chains to competition in industrial ecosystems, matdng system adaptability and dynamics the key to long-term industrial competitiveness. As an effort to embrace the "Third Industrial Revolution" and meet the challenges brought by "multi-facets competition" with developed industrial nations in various links of value chain, in the future China should make appropriate adjustments in its strategies for economic transition and upgrading, global competition, technological innovation, industrial development and information technology.展开更多

Two conceits (concetti) are considered in analyzing Tintoretto's female imagery: (1) a fanciful invention of musica extravaganza; and (2) a Venetian allegory of bellezza. The first part of the essay discusses the provenance of the painting and the second part presents an iconographical interpretation of the imagery. This essay also focuses on the iconography of the painting based on viewing the subject and does not postulate on its iconography based on disappeared paintings or on a speculative decorative cycle on the theme of Hercules. Relying on well-documented research on music in Venice, on Mannerist practices, and on art theories during Tintoretto's life, some intriguing observations are made about the painting.展开更多

A proper understanding of these terms in Scripture, especially "soul" and "spirit" is integral to understanding the state of the dead, among others. These terms are used in diverse contexts with interchangeable nuances in the Book of Job. A living ("life") person ("soul") consists of the body/flesh plus the life principle ("spirit") of which "breath" is a concrete expression. In poetic contexts, the terminologies denote the physical ("soul"/"life"), appetitive ("soul"/"life"), psychical ("spirit"/"breath"), and emotional ("soul"/"spirit") characteristics of the human being. While "soul" and "life" tend towards physieality and therefore can be used synonymously for the whole person, "spirit" and "breath" tend towards non-physicality and express such phenomena as intellection and wind. A study of these terminologies in other poetic texts in the Hebrew Bible may evince similar semantic configurations as found in the Book of Job.展开更多

Oshii does not imagine any possibility that might destabilize his newly-imagined order, such as a cyborg that might upset heterosexuality. The absence of any female agency or desire in his cyber fantasy questions its subversive potential. Oshii seems to be immune to feminist theories on posthuman existence that conceptualizes subjectivity outside the gender polarities. Oshii describes a society where high technology only reinforces gender polarities. The representations of women's relationship to technology in Oshii's film, therefore, are quite problematic; the transgression of boundaries does not work out to reduce or annihilate domination by patriarchal needs and desires. Despite the fact that Oshii denies his female cyborgs a subject position other than that based exclusively in patriarchal fear and desire, his representations mark an ambivalence inherent in cyborg resistance, and feminist politics need to pay attention to such ambivalence.展开更多
