[ Objective] The aim of this study was to isolate the endophyte of three solanaceae fruits and vegetables such as tomato, pepper and eggplant, to screen and identify the bacterial wilt antagonistic bacteria. [ Methodl According to the lapping liquid culture method, the endophyte of three plants was isolated by the selective medium and purified by the plate streaking method, so the purified enclophyte was screened by the hyphal pieces confront culture method. Furthermore, the screened antagonistic and endophyteic bacteria was identified and classified through culture characteristics of isolates and morphological features of thallus, Gram stain as well as physiological and biochemical reactions. [ Result] Fifty-three endophytic bacteria, fifty-three endophytic fungi and forty-four endophytic actinomycetes were separated from the endophyte of three plants. The screened fourteen endophytic bacteria with strong antagonistic effect on the bacterial wilt were classified to Bacillus, Escherichia, Klebsiella, Agromonas, Erwinia and Curto Bacterium respectively. Especially, Bacillus was the dominant species, which had the strongest antagonistic effect on the bacterial wilt. A pot experiment was conducted to study the influences of foliar application of glycine,alanine,lysine,and glutamic acid in 200 mg/kg or 500 mg/kg upon the quality and enzyme activity of flowering Chinese cabbage(Brassica parachinensis Bailey).The results showed that all the application of these four amino acids could increase the yield of flowering Chinese cabbage,significantly raise the content of soluble sugar,and reduce the accumulation of nitrate.The applications of three other amino acids except alanine can increase the content of soluble proteins and decrease the accumulation of oxalic acid.However,the application of amino acid has insignificant influences on the SPAD number of chlorophyll,and causes the decrease of Vitamin C content.Meanwhile,the application of amino acid can improve the activity of nitrate reductase(NR) and glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH) as well.It shows that the application of amino acid is beneficial to improve ammonia metabolism,reduce the accumulation of nitrate and oxalic acid,increase the content of soluble sugar and soluble proteins,and improve the quality of flowering Chinese cabbage. 展开更多

In that DNA diversity detected nowadays could not mean phenotypic diversity,it is the precondition of breeding project and basic research of crop improvement that genetic diversity analysis and sampling of core collection by phenotypes.Phenotyping and statistic analysis on 9 traits of 92 accessions of cotton germplasm resource from three species(Gossypium hirsutum L.,Gossypium barbadence L.and Gossypium arboreum L.)were conducted.And the statistics(variation coefficient,proportion of special accessions and Shannon-Weaver information index)indicated that initial collection had abundant phenotypic diversity;software NTSYS-pc and the unweighted pair group method of arithmetic(UPGMA)were used for the cluster analysis on genetic similarity coefficient and genetic distance matrix,and the result showed that the genetic relationship among accessions was highly consistent with the pedigree;22 accessions of core collection were selected by software QGAStation,four statistics,such as variance difference percentage(VD%),mean difference percentage(MD%),coincidence rate(CR%)and variable rate(VR%),showed that the genetic diversity of core collection was approximately equal to the initial collection.The results of genetic diversity analysis based on phenotypic data and sampling of core collection would provide reference for breeding projects and basic research. 展开更多

[Method] The special plant nutritional element (SPNE) was sprayed on the flowering Chinese cabbage plants after the beginning of harvesting. The effects of SPNE on the yield traits and biochemical quality traits of flowering Chinese cabbage were investigated in the un-conventional using period. [Results] The results showed the flowering stalk of flow-ering Chinese cabbage developed earlier and grew fasterly for the SPNE treatment;the diameter, length and weight of flowering stalk of SPNE-treated flowering Chi-nese cabbage were al higher than that of control. The SPNE treatment could not only increase yield, but also bring better biochemical quality. The protein, vitamin C and calcium contents, especial y the chlorophyl and sugar contents in the SPNE-treated flowering Chinese cabbage were al higher than that of control, making the SPNE-treated flowering Chinese cabbage taste better. [Conclusion] lt was indicated although sprayed after the beginning of harvesting, the SPNE had a certain effect on the flowering Chinese cabbage. 展开更多

P, esult] The optimum conditions were as follows: fermentation temperature (22 ℃ ), yeast inoculums (0.20 g/L), SO2 concentration (60 mg/L) and pH (3.5). The kiwi wine produced under these conditions was yellowish green, transparent, moderately acidic with strong fruit flavor and aro- ma. [Objective] The paper was to explore the causes of phosphorus(P)efficiency of rice in Yunnan Province,and to provide strategy for ecological and environmental protection.[Method]Using 703 accessions of secondary core collections from 16 prefectures of five regions in Yunnan Province,two treatments of low available P(6.26mg/kg)versus normal P(available P 40mg/kg),and invalid P(available P 0.02 mg/kg)versus normal P(available P 70 mg/kg)were set,and zonal characteristics of phosphorus efficiency and the activation characteristics of invalid P of rice landraces were investigated.[Result] Phosphorus efficiency and the activation characteristics of invalid P in soils from rice landraces of Yunnan Province had the similar identification indexes,viz.the relative indexes of four traits(tillering ability or effective panicle,root weight,biomass,and straw weight)could be the screening indexes of gene type of secondary core collection with phosphorus efficiency,which also reflected the zonal characteristics of phosphorus efficiency and the activation characteristics of invalid P in soils of 16 prefectures among five regions.On the contrary,the relative panicle length,node length under panicle,leaf length,leaf width and plant height could only be the assistant indexes of identification for phosphorus efficiency.There were similar zonal characteristics between phosphorus efficiency and the activation characteristics of invalid P in soils of rice landraces in Yunnan Province.[Conclusion] The study had great importance to the conservation and utilization of biological diversity,which would make contribution to second green revolution of "less input,multiple output,promote health,and protect the environment". 展开更多

In his quest for spiritual fulfillment, Thomas Stearns Eliot conducts a meticulous religious study which teaches him distinctive interpretations of human existence and their various functions that they are supposed to assume in the world. Eliot's personal attachment to religious knowledge and his reflections of religious studies inevitably manifest themselves in his literary works; be it his dramas or poems, mostly in the forms of philosophical and psychoanalytical analysis of his characters and the detected problems observed in their relationships. The Cocktail Party, a play starting off as a drawing-room comedy soon converts to a serious analysis of human psychology and the nature of human interactions. While engaging with these particular points, the play offers possibilities to discuss several religious allusions, though dealt with subtly. Integrated with religion, characters' attitudes towards a given situation and their final decision position them in their quest either in "hypothetical" enlightenment or in a "supposed" repetition of a vicious circle. The enforcing power behind the play is interestingly a psychiatrist, who adds dynamism and mystery to the plot and has a special task in making the play a drama of conversion. The inner conflicts of the characters which ultimately lead to a series of problems in their relationships are the main concern which causes the characters search for different solutions. Accordingly, they make their own choices to cease their inner struggles. This paper aims to explore the concept of conversion in Eliot's The Cocktail Party with references to the playwright's religious journey in his literary career. 展开更多

The core function of anaphora is to serve as a substitute for a certain linguistic component in texts, but it actually has other missions such as creating the rhetorical effect--irony. However, anaphora alone cannot contribute to ironic effect, and only by resorting to other resources like contextual information, can anaphora generate irony. Therefore, Yus' s classification of contextual sources is employed to analyze with examples how anaphora creates irony by the aid of context. Ultimately, the conclusion has been drawn that anaphora is able to produce irony with the help of six groups of contextual information classified by Yus except the category--speaker's nonverbal behavior and anapbora sometimes has to interact with several groups of contextual information in order to create irony. 展开更多

This study was to understand the physiological changes of four kinds of crop seeds including baby corn, cowpea, radish and rape- seed, under the treatment of ultra-drying. Large amounts of seeds as experimental materials ( 10 kg for each material) were respectively dried to the suitable water content consistent with the ultra-dried seed criterion via heating at 50 ~C; then the physiological indices of these ultra-dried seeds such as water content, seed germination, dehydrogenase activity and SOD activity were measured. The results showed that except cowpea seeds, whose ultra-drying treatment should be controlled between two and four days, other three kinds of seeds were tolerant to high tem- perature and low water content. The ultra-dried seeds assumed similar or even higher activities than CKs, but showed no damage symptom. Our result proves that ultra-drying treatment via heating at 50 ℃ is safe and efficient to experimental seeds. 展开更多

Explaining fundamentals of application of cable bolting for a thick seam depillaring,this paper summarizes the results of field studies conducted during adoption of this approach in more than fifteen panels of Madhusudanpur 7 pit and incline mine.Nearly 7.0 m thick Kajora top coal seam of this mine is developed on pillars along the floor horizon to an average height of 3.0 m,leaving a coal band of around 4.0 m along the roof.Analysis of procured core samples showed that roof strata are easily caveable with a caveability index value of around 2000 only.Easily caveable overlying strata and shallow depth of cover alleviated most of the expected strata mechanics problems of the thick seam mining.However,extraction of total thickness at shallow cover caused differential-subsidence and cracks on the surface.These manifestations were immediately tackled to avoid creation of a breathing path for spontaneous heating in the extracted area. 展开更多

In Michel Houellebecq's novel The Map and the Territory (2010), the references to visual art, painting, and photography take a central place in the narrative. In addition to the verbal representation of artworks, there is an entire system of commentary, interpretation, and criticism of art. The references to visual art appear explicitly as ekphrases which splice the narrative time and again. The unique nature of ekphrasis in The Map and the Territory lies in its representation of art devoid of an origin in the real wodd; for the paintings in The Map and the Territory do not exist in reality but are pure literary paintings, in the full meaning of the word, as the artworks mentioned in the story have an existence restricted to Houellebecq's novel. The article analyses the ekphrases in The Map and the Territory and argues that they are a virtual visuality mediated by words, employing solely the technique of ekphrasis as an enhancer of meanings in a text and thereby foregrounding its artifice. It further argues that the ekphrases are open to a field of interpretive possibilities by contemporary society, as every ekphrasis features within it subversion and a contemplation on contemporary reality 展开更多

Methods A 6-year-old girl was diagnosed muscular ventricularseptal defect and left ventricular aneurysm 2d after automobile accident and underwent ventricular septal defect re-pair 2 weeks after injury. Another 9-year-old boy was diagnosed severe mitral regurgitation resulted from rupture ofposterior papillary muscle 9d after automobile accident and underwent mitral valvuloplasty 2 weeks after injury.Results Heart function of the first patient was in New York Heart Association (NYHA) class echocardiographyshowed no residual septal defect and the size of left ventricular aneurysm reduced. Heart function of the second pa-tient is in NYHA class echocardiography showed mild mitral regurgitation. Conclusion Blunt traumaticheart disease occurs either because of heart compression between sternum and the spine and/or because of myocardi-al contusion; A more aggressive strategy with surgical treatment earlier before deterioration of heart function is ad-vocated; Earlier surgical correction of anatomic deformity will achieve a good result and a long time follow-up isnecessary. 展开更多

Objective: To study the synergistic effect of ICOS-Ig combined with cyclosporine (CsA) on mouse heart transplantation and explore its therapeutic potential. Methods: ICOS-Ig fusion protein was generated by fusing the extraeellular portion of human ICOS and Fc portion of human IgG. To investigate the effect of ICOS-Ig on T-cell proliferation in vitro, ICOS-Ig or IgG was added to the primary MLR cultures (BALB/c spleen T cells as responder cells and irradiated C57BL/6 spleen cells as stimulator cells). The cells responsiveness rates were detected by 3H-TdR methods. Then the T cells of each group in primary MLR were cultured as responder cells for secondary MLR, and irradiated C57BL/6 (donor) or C3H (third party) spleen cells as stimulator cells. To study the effect of ICOS-Ig on T-cell proliferation in vivo, CFSE-labeled C57BL/6 spleen cells were transferred to irradiated BALB/c mice. Mice were then treated with IgG, ICOS-Ig or CsA. Seventy two hours after transfer, the spleen cells of the mice were harvested for the detection of CD4^+CFSE^+ and CD8^+CFSE^+ by FACS. C57BL/6 mouse underwent transplantation of the hearts of BALB/c mouse and were then randomly divided into five equal groups: no treatment group, control lgG treated group (250 gg i.p. d2, 4, 6), ICOS-Ig treated group (250 μg i.p. d2, 4, 6), CsA treated group (10 mg/kg i.p. d0-6), ICOS-Ig combined with CsA group. The cardiac allograft survival was monitored by daily palpation. Results: In primary MLR, ICOS-Ig inhibited T-cell proliferation, (inhibition ratio 58i8.2% in 50 μg/ml). In secondary MLR, ICOS-Ig specifically inhibited donor spleen cells, which suggested ICOS-Ig could induce donor-specific hyporesponsiveness. In the CFSE dye assay, CD4^+CFSE^+ and CD8^+CFSE^+ in ICOS-Ig and CsA group was stronger than those in control group, which showed ICOS-Ig and CsA could inhibit the proliferation of allo-reactive T cells in vivo. In mouse heart transplantation model, survival was significantly prolonged in animals treated with ICOS-Ig or CsA as compared with controls. Moreover, ICOS-Ig combined with CsA group had even longer engraftment (〉100 d) than ICOS-Ig or CsA used alone. In histological examination, it was found that there were congestions and edemas in no treatment and IgG treated recipients, together with a lot of inflammatory cells infiltrated. Allogeneic hearts from ICOS-Ig and/or CsA immunized recipients revealed milder histological changes. It was revealed in mechanical analysis that splenic T cells from recipients also exhibited depressed mixed leukocyte reactions (MLR) and cytotoxic lymphocyte reactions (CTL). Conclusion: These data suggest that ICOS-Ig combined with CsA induces a long-term survival of mouse cardiac allografts, whereas monotherapy is less effective in this regard. Thus, ICOS-Ig combined with CsA treatment may be a novel regimen to combat allograft rejection. 展开更多

Edible mushrooms are considered as healthy food because they are low in calories and fat but rich in proteins minerals and dietary fiber(DF). Edible mushrooms are recognized as new potential resource of DF since the components of edible mushroom dietary fiber(EMDF) have shown special physiological and pharmacological effects on human and animals. In this article,the soluble and insoluble fractions of DF in different edible mushroom species have been evaluated. Biological effects of EMDF are related to promoting desired responses,for example,reducing blood cholesterol,protecting cells from free radicals attack by antioxidative effects,attenuating levels and fluctuations of blood glucose and selectively supporting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. The EMDF plays an important role in reducing risk of cardiovascular diseases,diabetes mellitus and intestinal diseases. The non-starch polysaccharides(NSP),a kind of EMDF,is the best known and most potent mushroom-derived substances with antitumor and immunomodulatory properties. EMDF has also been reported to take part in the control of body weight,lipid homeostasis and insulin sensitivity due to its effect on specific chemical structures and physical properties. Many pharmaceutical substances with potent and unique health- enhancing properties were isolated recently from edible mushrooms and distributed worldwide. Mushroom-based dietary supplements(DSs) with potential therapeutic effects are produced from the mycelia or the fruiting bodies of mushrooms,and are consumed in the forms of capsules,tablets,or extracts.
