A redescription and revised diagnosis of the genus are provided. The type species, C. flavofasciata, is redescribed and the female of C. longistilata is described and illustrated in detail for the first time. Two new genera, Rubragallia, and Neorubragallia are erected to include the six species with red maculae formerly placed within Chromagallia. Rubragallia includes R. saucia （Stal） n. comb., and R. paraguayensis （Goncalves et al.） n. comb..
