Likewise, a link between stepwise multiple linear regression and earthquakes localization has been descripted. Precisely, the aim of this research is showing how stepwise multiple linear regression contributes to solution of earthquakes localization, describing its conditions of use in HYPO71PC, a software devoted to computation of seismic sources’ collocation. This aim is reached treating a concrete case, that is computation of earthquakes localization happening on Mount Vesuvius, Italy.展开更多

The ...The purposes and the types of dams are reviewed in AI-Baha province, on the western south of KSA （Kingdom of Saudi Arabia）. Data are collected and tabulated ascending according to the capacity of storing water. The cost （in Saudi Riyal） is plotted versus the capacity （in m3） for the dams. Then a linear regression analysis is done employing Micro Software Excel. An equation is obtained to predict the cost of dams with storage capacities less than or equal 500,000 m3, where the type of dam has no effect on the cost. Taking into consideration the inflation rates along the time, the 2013＇s costs are estimated and also another equation is obtained to predict the cost.展开更多

Using the hedonic regression models on 312 samples, the results reveal the linear form to outperform the semi-log specification. This demonstration shows that CAMA system can be introduced into the local market of Nasarawa and indeed the whole of Nigeria for property taxes.展开更多

This might cause a simultaneity bias if a two-way causality between the two variables exists. In this paper, the author performs vector autoregressive estimations using panel data on the number of graduates at each level of education as a proxy for human capital in China during 1991-2005. The results show that investment in human capital increases output per worker at all three levels of education. Regarding the effects of output per worker on the accumulation of human capital, the author finds mixed results with the primary-school graduates＇ benefits the most from increases in per capita output.展开更多
The optimal energy management for a plug-in hybrid electric bus(PHEB)running along the fixed city bus route is an important technique to improve the vehicles’fuel economy and reduce the bus emission.Considering the i...The optimal energy management for a plug-in hybrid electric bus(PHEB)running along the fixed city bus route is an important technique to improve the vehicles’fuel economy and reduce the bus emission.Considering the inherently high regularities of the fixed bus routes,the continuous state Markov decision process(MDP)is adopted to describe a cost function as total gas and electric consumption fee.Then a learning algorithm is proposed to construct such a MDP model without knowing the all parameters of the MDP.Next,fitted value iteration algorithm is given to approximate the cost function,and linear regression is used in this fitted value iteration.Simulation results show that this approach is feasible in searching for the control strategy of PHEB.Simultaneously this method has its own advantage comparing with the CDCS mode.Furthermore,a test based on a real PHEB was carried out to verify the applicable of the proposed method.展开更多
