Following the assumptions proposed by MESRI and ROKHSAR,the one-dimensional nonlinear consolidation problem of soil under constant loading is studied by introducing continuous drainage boundary.The numerical solution ...Following the assumptions proposed by MESRI and ROKHSAR,the one-dimensional nonlinear consolidation problem of soil under constant loading is studied by introducing continuous drainage boundary.The numerical solution is derived by using finite difference method and its correctness is assessed by comparing with existing analytical and numerical solutions.Based on the present solution,the effects of interface parameters,stress ratios(i.e.,final effective stress over initial effective stress,N_(σ))and the ratio c_(c)/c_(k)of compression index to permeability index on the consolidation behavior of soil are studied in detail.The results show that,the characteristics of one-dimensional nonlinear consolidation of soil are not only related to c_(c)/c_(k)and N_(σ),but also related to boundary conditions.In the engineering practice,the soil drainage rate of consolidation process can be designed by adjusting the values of interface parameters.展开更多
A dynamic experimental set-up was utilized to measure ibuprofen solubility in supercritical CO2 at the pressure range of 8-13 MPa and the temperatures of 308, 313 and 318 K. Mole fraction values varied from 0.015&#21...A dynamic experimental set-up was utilized to measure ibuprofen solubility in supercritical CO2 at the pressure range of 8-13 MPa and the temperatures of 308, 313 and 318 K. Mole fraction values varied from 0.015×10^-3 to 3.261×10^-3 and correlated by using seven different semi empirical equations of state (Bartle, Modi-fied Bartle, Mendez-Teja, Modified Mendez-Teja, Kumar-Johnson, Sung-shim and Gordillo) as well as seven cubic equations of state (van der Waals, Redlich-Kwong, Soave-Redlich-Kwong, Peng-Robinson, Stryjek-Vera, Patel-Teja-Valderana and Pazuki). Single and twin-parametric van der Walls mixing rules (vdW1, vdW2) were ap-plied in order to estimate the supercritical solution properties. The physicochemical properties were also obtained using Joback, Lydersen and Ambrose methods. Absolute average relatives deviation (AARD) were calculated and compared for all the correlating systems. Results showed that among the cubic equations of state (EOSs) the Pazuki equation (AARD=19.85% using vdW1 and AARD=8.79% using vdW2) and SRK equation (AARD=19.20%using vdW1 and AARD=10.03%using vdW2) predicted the ibuprofen solubility in supercritical CO2 with the least error in comparison to the others. Among the semi-empirical EOSs the most desirable deviation (AARD〈10%) was obtained by using Modified Bartle and Modified Mendez-Teja equations in all the studied temperatures.展开更多

The two derivatives were employed as the rigid monomers to copolymerize with acrylated epoxidized soybean oil (AESO), as so to improve the performance of the cured resins. The chemical structures of HMPIDDC and IDOMAHM were confirmed by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) before copolymerization. The curing behaviors of pristine AESO, AESO/HMPIDDC blend, and AESO/IDOMAHM blend were monitored by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Moreover, the thermal and mechanical properties of the cured resins were evaluated by universal mechanical testing, dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results demonstrated that after the introduction of HMPIDDC and IDOMAHM, the glass transition temperature and mechanical properties of the copolymerized resin were significantly increased. In one word, HMPIDDC and IDOMAHM showed dramatic potential to be used as bio-based compounds to improve the properties of soybean-oil based thermosets.展开更多
