The availability of new, simple, very sensitive and specific serological tests (anti-gliadin, anti- endomysium and anti-transglutaminase antibody assays) have shown that celiac disease is common not only in Europe and in people of European ancestry but also in the developing countries where the major staple diet is wheat (Southern Asia, the Middle East, North West and East Africa, South America), both in the general population and in the groups at risk. Gluten intolerance thus appears to be a widespread public health problem and an increased level of awareness and clinical suspicion are needed in the New World where physicians must learn to recognize the variable clinical presentations (classical, atypical and silent forms) of celiac disease. In the developing countries, both serological screening in the general population and serological testing in groups at risk are necessary for an early identification of celiac patients. The gluten-free diet poses a challenging public health problem in the developing countries, especially since commercial gluten-free products are not available.展开更多

Kim Jong-un has made positive moves, particularly on the nuclear issue: when visiting China, he affirmed that the DPRK would remain committed to denuclearization of the peninsula; at the Third Plenary Session of the 7 th National Congress of the Korean Workers' Party, he announced the termination of nuclear testing and the intercontinental ballistic missile(ICBM) test launches, as well as the abjuration of the nuclear testing site in the north; and later on, he affirmed with Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea(ROK), that the common goal of a nuclear free peninsula would be realized through denuclearization. This series of diplomatic moves by the DPRK has taken the world by surprise. The DPRK government's motivations are both internal and external. In their attempts to preserve and deepen the hard-won peace, and make it a true turning point in their history, the DPRK is obviously faced with multiple challenges, and a lot of work has to be done on the nuclear issue in particular.展开更多

Uzbekistan has dry, roast summer and cool winter which is uncharacteristic to subtropical climate. These factors have certain influence on health of the population. The meteorological conditions of each season promote the activations or decrease of various diseases in the Republic. The growth of the diseases of digestive organs, respiratory apparatus and cardiovascular diseases cause the special anxiety in the country. The analysis shows that from 1999 to 2009 nosogeographical situation is mostly worsened in Navaiy region. On the contrary, in the regions of Dzhizak, Samarkand and Khorezm common sickness rate of the population is decreased slightly.展开更多

Since the founding of the People Republic of China, China has carried out the codification of civil code for four times, and since the part^s eighteen plenary session officially proposed the 'codification of civil code', the issue of the civil and conmaercial relation draws the attention again, either unification or division of civil and commercial law directly affects the system and content of the civil code, and affects how to process the relationship between the civil law and commercial law during the codification of the civil code as well. The codification of the civil code should not only consider the legislative tradition of the civil and commercial legislation and the current legal system, but also pursue characteristics of the commercial law, in a system of combining civil and commercial law, through adding commercial law into the general principle of civil law; the existing commercial law should be separately retained.展开更多

Despite advances in the therapy and care of heart failure, morbidity and mortality remain persistently high. Recent years have witnessed major breakthroughs in the investigations of pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment of heart failure in China. It is noteworthy that the continuing and growing support from funding agencies in China including the National Natural Science Foundation of China has yielded substantial effects on the basic and clinical research in heart failure in the last decade. In this review, we provide an update on the current status of heart failure research, both basic and translational/clinical, in China, including funding and publications. We also discuss the future challenges and possible strategies in improving our understanding and management of heart failure in China.展开更多
