After the linear analytical method of unsteady flow theory is further improved,an innovative and faster algorithm is introduced.The water storage in a confined aquifer is derived from the water transmissivity coeffici...After the linear analytical method of unsteady flow theory is further improved,an innovative and faster algorithm is introduced.The water storage in a confined aquifer is derived from the water transmissivity coefficient and the water-pressure conductivity coefficient.The water transmissivity coefficient is approximated by a Taylorseries expansion of drawdown,and the water-pressure conductivity coefficient is obtained by the average drawdown.In this algorithm,the distance of the observation points from the pumping well must be short.When the distance is as short as the radius of the main pumping well,the data of the drawdown difference between the sidewall and the center of pumping well are difficult to measure,but the same results can be achieved based on the assumption that the drawdown difference approximates to the drawdown of the observation wells at a radial distance from the pumping well according to the algorithm.Without the help of charts,this algorithm is more concise and efficient,which has been verified by the test of water pumping project in Tianjin Binhai International Airport.展开更多

This study delved on the ballast water management methods among international vessels docking at Loboc Port, Iloilo City, Philippines and other factors that are considered during ballast operation. The respondents of ...This study delved on the ballast water management methods among international vessels docking at Loboc Port, Iloilo City, Philippines and other factors that are considered during ballast operation. The respondents of this study were the seafarers from the 15 international vessels docking at Loboc Port. The findings of the study revealed that the international vessels docking at Loboc Port used the sequential method, flow-through method, chlorination method, hydrogen peroxide, UV （ultraviolet） irradiation and filtration method in ballasting. In order to prevent transfer of alien invasive species, government authorities such as MARINA （Maritime Industry Authority） and Philippine Coast Guard should strictly monitor and implement the ballast water management methods used by international vessels based on the guidelines set by the IMO （International Maritime Organization）.展开更多

He has to pursue better coping skills for： cultural, communication and language, self-capability, stress management, and adjustment issues in the foreign settings. Premature return can be obviated through improved pre-departure training and post-arrival mentoring. US expatriates who are selected for foreign assignments in culturally distant and operationally different countries have an especially important need for their development and training. The challenge to adapt and become functional and fluent in the local surroundings in a very short time is very difficult for the expatriate. The expatriate＇s strange and difficult-to-fathom foreign environment causes him to be anxious as he works hard to adjust and be effective. The obstacles of dealing with the different business customs, social etiquette, and language differences make it difficult for communication, operating environments, and building professional relationships in an appropriate manner. He has to deal with the strangeness and unfamiliarity during the initial period after his arrival in the foreign country. This is further compounded by the pressing need for him to show good performance and produce results in his foreign assignment. Since the"nationalization"of the Diaoyu Islands by Japan in 2012, mutual trust between China and Japan has been declining, and bilateral security relations have reached a low point. China-Japan security relations are typified by ongoing dispute over the Diaoyu Islands, lack of mutual trust exacerbated by various actions by Japan, and the delay of China-Japan security dialogues. The evolution of China-Japan security relations derived from the Diaoyu Islands dispute is clearly beyond the scope of the dispute itself, with deep-rooted internal and external factors. In the near future,China-Japan security relations will face more challenges than opportunities. China should take measures, including enhancing mutual trust in politics and security between the two countries, to impose necessary pressure on Japan to change course, to win over neighboring countries so as to avoid pretext for Japan's intervention in regional issues,and to strengthen interpersonal communication and understanding between people of the two countries in order to stabilize security relations.展开更多
