Since there is lack of methodology to assess the performance of defogging algorithm and the existing assessment methods have some limitations,three new methods for assessing the defogging algorithm were proposed.One was using synthetic foggy image simulated by image degradation model to assess the defogging algorithm in full-reference way.In this method,the absolute difference was computed between the synthetic image with and without fog.The other two were computing the fog density of gray level image or constructing assessment system of color image from human visual perception to assess the defogging algorithm in no-reference way.For these methods,an assessment function was defined to evaluate algorithm performance from the function value.Using the defogging algorithm comparison,the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed methods. 展开更多

Through the analysis and comparison of shortcomings and advantages of existing technologies on object modeling in 3D applications,we propose a new modeling method for virtual scene based on multi-view image sequence to model irregular objects efficiently in 3D application.In 3D scene,this method can get better visual effect by tracking the viewer's real-time perspective position and projecting the photos from different perspectives dynamically.The philosophy of design,the steps of development and some other relevant topics are discussed in details,and the validity of the algorithm is analyzed.The results demonstrate that this method represents more superiority on simulating irregular objects by applying it to the modeling of virtual museum. 展开更多

A surgical simulation and evaluation method in the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstructionwith image-free navigation was presented.Firstly,video tracking module,bone surface reconstructionmodule and virtual simulation module of this system were discussed.Secondly,the coordinate relations ofseveral surgery objects(including surgical instrument,anatomical,camera and screen)in the surgicalenvironment,the tracking based on MicronTracker with two cameras and the bone surface real-time recon-struction based on the Delaunay algorithm were introduced in detail.Finally,experiments of anisometrymeasurement and virtual simulation on two plastics were carried out to verify the validity of the proposedmethod.The anisometry value of reconstructed ACL was 8.970039mm.The effectiveness of ACL recon-struction has been proved by preliminary evaluation trials. 展开更多
