The Altay granulite (AG) is an amphibole plagioclase two-pyroxene granulite and is mainly composed of two pyroxenes, plagioclase, amphibole and biotite. Its melano-minerals are rich in Mg/(Mg+Fe2+), and its amphibole and biotite are rich in TiO2. The AG is rich in Mg/(Mg+Fe2+), Al2O3 and depletion of U, Th and Rb contents. The AG has moderate ∑REE and LREE-enriched with weak positive Eu anomaly. The AG shows island-arc pattern with negative Nb, P and Ti anomalies, reflecting that formation of the AG may be associated with subduction. Geochemical and mineral composition data reflect that the protolith of the AG is calc-alkaline basalt and formed by granulite facies metamorphism having peak P-T conditions of 750 °C?780 °C and 0.6?0.7 Gpa. The AG formation underwent two stages was suggested. In the early stage of oceanic crustal subduction, calc-alkaline basalt with island-arc environment underwent granulite facies metamorphism to form the AG in deep crust, and in the late stage, the AG was thrust into the upper crust.展开更多

This study aims to utilize geo-informatics technology to increase accuracy of a shoreline prediction model along two study sites in Samutprakarn province and in Prachuabkirikhan province. Predicting coastline change using remote sensing together with GIS (geographic information system) is a spat^o-temporal technology, which can continuously provide perspectives of coastal areas. Due to a long term of operational period of LANDSAT satellite, it is useful to enhance accuracy of prediction model. LANDSAT-5 TM images acquired during 1999-2009 were used to produce historical shoreline vectors. Physical data were modified to be input data of digital shoreline analysis system. The model was validated. Linear regressions were applied in order to derive equations of erosion magnitude. The result presents that averaged erosion and accretion rate along Samutprakarn province was 22.30 meters/year and 2.94 meters/year, respectively. On the other hand, the average rate of coastal erosion along Prachuabkirikhan province was much lower, being 2.48 meters/year while the accretion rate was approximately 4.11 meters/year. The predicted shoreline change at Samutprakarn province in 2019 is about -132.69 ~ 0.758 meters while at Prachuabkirikhan is 40.58 ~ 0.0012 meters. In conclusion, this prediction model focused the changing of shoreline in long term and accuracy of the model could be improved by increasing number of shorelines vectors, transect intervals and resolution of satellite images. Clearly, the model is flexible and can be applied in other particular areas for coastal zone management in Thailand.展开更多

The surface mine pit covers is 4 km by 7 km with mining depths ranging up to 260 m. A large pit slope is formed with the progression of the mining operation. However, massive slides in the pit slope occur often due to the existence weak planes such as faults and bedding, and the weak mechanical properties of the rocks. Hence, 200 m to 300 m boundaries of rock block including coal seams are left in front of faults in order to prevent slides and maintain the stability of the pit slope. As a result, there are significant coal reserves beneath the abandoned area along the pit slope. The focus of this paper is on the applicability and design of the highwall mining for recovering much of the coal left along the pit slope.展开更多

MAR (managed aquifer recharge) using infiltration pond was investigated and constructed. A recharge experiment at the pilot site at Ban Nong Na, Phitsanulok Province, was conducted during 2009 to 2011 to mitigate the declining shallow groundwater level. The HELP3 and MODFLOW models were applied to explore the current groundwater recharge. The MODFLOW was used to simulate the recharge mechanism of the experiment in the 1,260 m2 infiltration pond during July to November, 2010. The simulated results showed the groundwater influx and outflux for the year 2010 were 1.34 Mm3 1.57 Mm3, respectively. The annual shallow groundwater extraction was 1.40 Mm3 resulting in the groundwater system deficit of 0.23 Mm3 and causing groundwater level decline at the rate of 0.25 m/yr. The critical zone with groundwater level deeper than 8 m from the ground surface covers 19% of the study area of 4.12 km2 and it would be increased up to 85% within the next 10 years (2020). To achieve the groundwater system balance, the deficit amount of 0.23 Mm3 is needed and six infiltration ponds are required.展开更多

The average annual rainfall is 1,430 mm and the total water resources are estimated at 215,000 Mm^3 (million of m^3)-year^-1. The hydric demand in the country is 70,000 Mm^3.year^-1, 6% of which is groundwater in origin. Over 70% of the water is used for agriculture. Thailand is the world's leading exporter of rice. The main problems faced by the Water Authority in Thailand are pollution, floods and droughts, depending on the geographical zone. From the hydrogeological point of view, the Central Plain is the main groundwater reservoir in the nation. Intensive extraction of groundwater over a long period of time has caused three main problems: a decline in groundwater levels, land subsidence, and seawater intrusion. These problems have been especially pressing in the area known as Greater Bangkok.展开更多

Fifty female animals collected from the North-Eastern area of Thailand were slaughtered in the different age groups as 0, 1, 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6 months of age, respectively (each group = 5 pigs), for monitoring corpus luteum (CL) occurrence on ovarian surface and some changes of reproductive structure. CL was clearly found for the first time in the 4.5 months age group (P 〈 0.05) which was defined as the first ovulation; nevertheless, group of follicles with 〉 2.0 mm in diameter appeared for the first time in the 3.5 month age group (P 〈 0.05). For other conformations, size of uterine horns, oviducts or ovaries, including weight of ovaries or whole reproductive tracts, were significantly developed (P 〈 0.05) that was initially taken place in the 3.5 months age group onwards. Thus, it was summarized that the onset of puberty in Thai indigenous gilts, affirmed by CL appearance at the first time, should be happened between 4.0 and 4.5 months of age; however, the development of reproductive structure and follicles to prepare in approaching puberty should be started before 3.5 months of age.展开更多

Therefore, it is urgent to put forward some rational and feasible suggestions for local government to manage the market of land transfer. Moreover, it is important in the field of study on agricultural land use change to analyze the spatial differentiation and structural specification of land transfer, which are caused by rural households' behavior. This paper selected I l factors covering four aspects of rural households' family structure, family location, family income structure and the natural quality of land resources, all of which influence the behavior differentiation of rural households, to establish the index model indicating spatial differentiation of land transfer. Results show that the spatial differentiation of land transfer can be divided into four degrees and three categories through analyzing rural households' questionnaires from Shanghai, Nanjing and Taizhou in the Changjiang (Yangtze) River Delta. Since up to 80% of rural households belong to middle degrees, it can be concluded that the rural land market develops evenly in the study areas. And it is also indicated that the natural quality of land resources and the maximum income of rural land are most important factors influencing the spatial differentiation of land transaction. Considering different factors, the countermeasures can be carried out to enhance the spatial differentiation of land transfer so as to promote economic development and social security of rural China. All in all, both micro- factors and macro-factors influencing rural households' behavior of rural land transfer should be taken into account in order to make spatial differentiation and structural specification of rural land transfer notable.展开更多

Arsenic contamination of groundwater is an emerging issue in Mekong Basin including Cambodia, Vietnam, and Thailand. In Thailand, information about arsenic contamination in drinking water resources are quite rare due to that arsenic is not the main element in water qualification assay. The objective of this study is to determine groundwater quality and arsenic contamination in rural Mekong Basin, Ubon Ratchathani. Groundwater samples were collected from 20 different sampling points, between August 2009 and February 2010 in Amphoe Khemmarat, Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. Physical and chemical characteristics of groundwater were determined. It was observed that the groundwater was 27.9-30.3 ~C, pH 5.7-6.9. The conductivity was 707-767 p.S.cm". Dissolved oxygen was 2.04-5.12 mg.L-1 and TDS was 352-384 mg.L~. The samples showed soft- to very hardness-water properties. In some area, few parameters like CI, Fe, Mn, and As exceeded the WHO guideline limits. This result represents basic information for quality of groundwater and the arsenic contamination in rural Mekong Basin, Ubon Ratchathani. Thus, it is probably useful for arsenic standard level assignment and public health authorities. Moreover, it also leads to establish research activity in treatment of arsenic-contaminated groundwater for different purposes展开更多

文摘In Western Siberia(Russia) there are about 100 Artemia lakes with total area over 1 600 km 2.Geographically these lakes are located between 51°–56°N and 61°–82°E.In general these lakes are shallow(depth less than 1.5 m),small or medium size(0.1 to 10 km 2);they are chloride;their total salinity is from 40 to 250 g/L.The harvesting of cysts per year is only in 20–40 lakes. In Russia 550 tons of dry Artemia cysts(14%–18% of the world production) were harvested annually. This includes about 350 tons in the Altai region and 200 tons in other regions.During our regular 20-year study period the cyst harvest was:95 tons in Kurgan;65 tons in Omsk,20 tons in Novosibirsk,20 tons in Tyumen.Ways of increasing cyst harvest in Russia are considered in this article.During the last 30 years the harvest of cysts in Russia has increased from 7–20 to 500–600 tons.A significant influence of dryness of the year was found on productivity in selected lakes, but taken for all the lakes together, the relationship was not significant. The optimal salinity for productivity of cysts in the lakes was determined.Analysis of productivity of the lakes and the harvesting results showed that the stocks of cysts are underutilized by approximately 1.7 times.
文摘The Land (2001) is a powerful coming-of-age story by African-American writer Mildred D. Taylor. Through vividly depicting the mental and physical pains suffered by black people as well as the undying hope of protagonist Paul in the struggle of achieving social and economic independence by obtaining a land of his own, Mildred D. Taylor not only pungently exposes the evils of racism but also successfully builds up positive image of black character in The Land. Based on African American criticism theory and close reading of the text, the present paper aims at exploring the central themes of pain, struggle, and hope presented in the novel with the hope of interpreting the historical and realistic significance of the novel.
文摘The prediction of shoreline erosion is vital for coastal management. Clearly, the model is flexible and can be applied in other particular areas for coastal zone management in Thailand.
文摘The EGAT Mac Moh coal mine is an open-cut coal mine in Thailand that produces about 16 million tons of lignite annually to generate 2,400 MW of electricity. The focus of this paper is on the applicability and design of the highwall mining for recovering much of the coal left along the pit slope.
文摘The Upper Chao Phraya River Basin, Thailand, has been facing continuous groundwater level decreases due to over-extraction for irrigation. To achieve the groundwater system balance, the deficit amount of 0.23 Mm3 is needed and six infiltration ponds are required.

文摘This article offers a brief description of the water resources situation of the Kingdom of Thailand, a country with a population of over 65 million people and a surface area of 513,120 km^2. These problems have been especially pressing in the area known as Greater Bangkok.

文摘A comprehensive method of image classification was developed for monitoring land use dynamics in Chanthaburi Province of Tailand. RS (Remote Sensing), GIS (Geographical Information System), GPS (Global Positioning System) and ancillary data were combined by the method which adopts the main idea of classifying images by steps from decision tree method and the hybridized supervised and unsupervised classification. An integration of automatic image interpretation, ancillary materials and expert knowledge was realized. Two subscenes of Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper (TM) images of bands 3, 4 and 5 obtained on December 15, 1992, and January 17, 1999, were used for image processing and spatial data analysis in the study. The overall accuracy of the results of classification reached 90%, which was verified by field check. Results showed that shrimp farm land, urban and traffic land, barren land, bush and agricultural developing area increased in area, mangrove, paddy field, swamp and marsh land, orchard and plantation, and tropical grass land decreased, and the forest land kept almost stable. Ecological analysis on the land use changes showed that more attentions should be paid on the effect of land development on ecological environment in the future land planning and management.
文摘This experiment was aimed to investigate some changes of ovarian structure in order to confirm the onset of puberty in Thai indigenous gilts. Thus, it was summarized that the onset of puberty in Thai indigenous gilts, affirmed by CL appearance at the first time, should be happened between 4.0 and 4.5 months of age; however, the development of reproductive structure and follicles to prepare in approaching puberty should be started before 3.5 months of age.

文摘The policy of land transfer has greatly influenced the macro economy of China with the commencement of another innovation of land use system. All in all, both micro- factors and macro-factors influencing rural households' behavior of rural land transfer should be taken into account in order to make spatial differentiation and structural specification of rural land transfer notable.
文摘Arsenic (As) is one of the most important elemental pollutants in groundwater and drinking water because it causes health problem of arsenicosis after consumption of drinking arsenic-rich water more than 5-10 years. Moreover, it also leads to establish research activity in treatment of arsenic-contaminated groundwater for different purposes
