This article analyzes the current teaching situation of the Introduction to Geography Science course, explores and proposes a new model of ideological and political education in the Introduction to Geography Science course, stimulates students’ interest in learning “knowing geography and loving geography”, and enhances their sense of identity with the Geography Science major. By deeply exploring the integration of ideological and political elements into the classroom teaching of geography science majors, the cultivation goal of “three complete education” can be achieved. This research can provide reference for the reform and practice of ideological and political education in geography science majors and other related majors in local universities.展开更多
