In this paper,the mean parameter values of silty clay in diffe...Soil dynamic parameters,including dynamic shear modulus ratio and damping ratio,have important effects on the results of layered soil earthquake response. In this paper,the mean parameter values of silty clay in different depths are obtained after statistical analysis of the experimental soil dynamic data from 20 recent site seismic safety evaluation reports in the Beijing area. Furthermore,based on two typical engineering sites,the influence of four different soil dynamic parameters,the statistic mean values,experimental values, values recommended by Yuan Xiaoming,and the values recommended in the code for seismic safety evaluation of engineering sites( DB001-94) are analyzed. The result shows that mean statistical values are applicable to seismic safety evaluation work in the Beijing area,especially for some inter-layered silty clays whose undisturbed soil samples are hard to obtain.展开更多

GPR has been used to delineate contamination pl...The use of GPR (ground penetrating radar) as an auxiliary tool in geotechnical and environmental site investigations has increased in Brazil during the past few years. GPR has been used to delineate contamination plumes, to aid in geological modelling, to detect buried structures and in archaeological surveys. This paper describes and discusses the results ofa GPR site investigation carried out at Gramacho Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A field study was conducted to detect failure surfaces in its slopes and within the waste mass. The results have shown that: (l) Slip surfaces could be indicated by small continuous voids within the waste mass since there is a good contrast between the dielectric constant of air and municipal waste; (2) Greenhouse gases pools could also be indicated by large voids within the waste mass since there is a good contrast between the dielectric constant of carbon dioxide, methane and municipal waste; (3) Leachate pools present a high electric conductivity that could be easily detected by GPR.展开更多

With the construction of Gucun park, the scale of the park will expand rapidly, a large amount of customers will be attracted to Gucun, and the market demand will rise sharply, leading to a severe challenge to the industrial exploitation surrounding the Gucun park. The purpose of this paper is to analyze on the basis of the current situation of the Gucun park and its surrounding area. We draw lessons from large theme park and country park peripheral industry planning scheme, summed up Shanghai Gucun park's exploitation conditions and existing problems, and put forward my own advices to make the future industry exploitation more smoothly.展开更多
This paper presents a random physical model of seismic ground motion field on a specific local engineering site.With this model,artificial ground motions which are consistent with realistic records at SMART-1 array on...This paper presents a random physical model of seismic ground motion field on a specific local engineering site.With this model,artificial ground motions which are consistent with realistic records at SMART-1 array on spatial correlation are synthesized.A two-scale modeling method of seismic random field is proposed.In large scale,the seismic ground motion field on bedrock surface is simplified to a two-dimensional spherical wave field based on the seismic point source and homogeneous isotropic media model.In small scale,the seismic ground motion field on the engineering site has a plane waveform.By introducing the physical models of seismic source,path and local site and considering the randomness of the basic physical parameters,the random model of seismic ground motion field is completed in a random functional form.This model is applied to simulation of the acceleration records at SMART-1 array by using the superposition method of wave group.展开更多

According to site investigation drilling, sampling, seismic sound logging wave test in single-hole and cross-hole, laboratory wave velocity test of intact rock, together with analysis of the site geological conditions, the seismic wave test results of the site between strata lithology and the geologic structure were studied. The relationships of seismic waves with the site lithology and the geologic structure were set up. The dynamic parameters of different grades of weathering profile were deduced. The results assist the seismic design of Phase Ⅲ Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, China.展开更多
