Blasting is one of the most important operations in the mining projects that has effective role in the whole operation physically and economically. Unsuitable blasting pattern may lead to unwanted events such as poor fragmentation, back break and fly rock. Multi attribute decision making(MADM) can be useful method for selecting the most appropriate blasting pattern among previously performed patterns. In this work, initially, from various already performed patterns, efficient and inefficient patterns are determined using data envelopment analysis(DEA). In the second step, after weighting impressive attributes using experts' opinion, elimination Et choice translating reality(ELECTRE) was used for ranking the efficient patterns and recognizing the most appropriate pattern in the Sungun Copper Mine, Iran. According to the obtained results, blasting pattern with the hole diameter of 15.24 cm, burden of 3 m, spacing of 4 m and stemming of 3.2 m has selected as the best pattern and has selected for future operation. 展开更多

Mountain catchments are prone to flash flooding due to heavy rainfall. Enhanced understanding of the generation and evolution processes of flash floods is essential for effective flood risk management. However, traditional distributed hydrological models based on kinematic and diffusion wave approximations ignore certain physical mechanisms of flash floods and thus bear excessive uncertainty. Here a hydrodynamic model is presented for flash floods based on the full two-dimensional shallow water equations incorporating rainfall and infiltration. Laboratory experiments of overland flows were modelled to illustrate the capability of the model. Then the model was applied to resolve two observed flash floods of distinct magnitudes in the Lengkou catchment in Shanxi Province, China. The present model is shown to be able to reproduce the flood flows fairly well compared to the observed data. The spatial distribution of rainfall is shown to be crucial for the modelling of flash floods. Sensitivity analyses of the model parameters reveal that the stage and discharge hydrographs are more sensitive to the Manning roughness and initial water content in the catchment than to the Green-Ampt head. Most notably, as the flash flood augments due to heavier rainfall, the modelling results agree with observed data better, which clearly characterizes the paramount role of rainfall in dictating the floods. With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT),the issue of trust in distributed routing systems has attracted more research attention.The existing trust management frameworks,however,suffer from some possible attacks in hostile environments,such as false accusation,collusion,on-off,and conflicting behavior.Therefore,more comprehensive models should be proposed to predict the trust level of nodes on potential routes more precisely,and to defeat several kinds of possible attacks.This paper makes an attempt to design an attack-resistant trust management model based on beta function for distributed routing strategy in IoT.Our model can evaluate and propagate reputation in distributed routing systems.We first describe possible attacks on existing systems.Our model is then proposed to establish reliable trust relations between self-organized nodes and defeat possible attacks in distributed routing systems.We also propose a theoretical basis and skeleton of our model.Finally,some performance evaluations and security analyses are provided to show the effectiveness and robustness of our model compared with the existing systems. 展开更多

Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been identified as an effective and clean alternative choice for marine power system.This paper emphasizes on the dynamic modeling of SOFC power system and its performance based upon marine operating circumstance.A SOFC power system model has been provided considering thermodynamic and electrochemical reaction mechanism.Subcomponents of lithium ion battery, power conditioning unit, stack structure and controller are integrated in the model.The dynamic response of the system is identified according to the inertia of its subcomponent and controller.Validation of the whole system simulation at steady state and transit period are presented, concerning the effects of thermo inertia, control strategy and seagoing environment.The simulation results show reasonable accuracy compare with lab test.The models can be used to predict performance of a SOFC power system and identify the system response when part of the component parameter is adjusted. 展开更多

Individual appliances and whole buildings that continuously incorporate local intelligence which originates from the new technologies of Internet of Things are the new infrastructure that this integration is based on. Smart Electricity Grids are becoming more intensively integrated with tertiary building energy management systems and distributed energy generators such as wind and solar. This new smart network type harnesses the loT (lnternet of Things) principles by generating a new network made of active elements combined with the necessary control and distributed coordination mechanisms. This new self-organized overlay network of connected DER (distributed energy resources) allows for the seamless management and control of the active grid as well as the efficient coordination and exploration of single and aggregated technical prosumer potential (generation and consumption) to participate in energy balancing and other distributed grid related services, applying energy management strategies based on control and predict of the DERs behavior for facing demand side management issues. 展开更多

This paper introduces the process of development and practical use implementation of an advanced river management system for supporting integrated water resources management practices in Asian river basins under the framework of GEOSS Asia water cycle initiative (AWCI). The system is based on integration of data from earth observation satellites and in-situ networks with other types of data, including numerical weather prediction model outputs, climate model outputs, geographical infor- mation, and socio-economic data. The system builds on the water and energy budget distributed hydrological model (WEB-DHM) that was adapted for specific conditions of studied basins, in particular snow and glacier phenomena and equipped with other functions such as dam operation optimization scheme and a set of tools for climate change impact assess- ment to be able to generate relevant information for policy and decision makers. In situ data were archived for 18 selected ba- sins at the Data Integration and Analysis System (DIAS) of Japan and demonstration projects were carded out showing poten- tial of the new system. It included climate change impact assessment on hydrological regimes, which is presently a critical step for sound management decisions. Results of such three case studies in Pakistan, Philippines, and Vietnam are provided here. 展开更多

An analytical model for the subthreshold current of a strained-Si metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) is developed by solving the two-dimensional (2D) Poisson equation and the conventional drift-diffusion theory. Model verification is carried out using the 2D device simulator ISE. Good agreement is obtained between the model's calculations and the simulated results. By analyzing the model, the dependence of current on the strained-Si layer strain, doping concentration, source/drain junction depths and substrate voltage is studied. This subthreshold current model provides valuable information for strained-Si MOSFET design. 展开更多
