In comparison to discrete descriptions of fracture process,the recently proposed phase field methodology averts the numerical tracking strategy of discontinuities in solids,which enables the numerical implement simplification.An implicit finite element formulation based on the diffuse phase field is extended for stable and efficient analysis of complex dynamic fracture process in ductile solids.This exhibited formulation is shown to capture entire range of the characteristics of ductile material presenting J2-plasticity,embracing plasticization,cracks initiation,propagation,branching and merging while fulfilling the basic principle of thermodynamics.Herein,we implement a staggered time integration scheme of the dynamic elasto-plastic phase field method into the commercial finite element code.The numerical performance of the present advanced phase field model has been examined through several classic dynamic fracture benchmarks,and in all cases simulation results are in good agreement with the associated experimental data and other numerical results in previous literature. 展开更多

The range of temperature is 293-773 K and that of the strain rate is 0. 001-0.1 s^-1. The warm tensile properties,relations among temperature,strain rate,and the flow stress are discussed. Constitutive equations under the warm tension are obtained based on revised Hooke law and Grosman equation. It is concluded that flow stress declines with the increase of the temperature and the decrease of the strain rates. The elongation percentage increases with the increase of the temperature and the decrease of strain rate. 展开更多

Using a circular incremental step load and unload method, a set of rheological experiments were performed to study the viscoelasto-plastic properties of amphibolite in Jinchuan No.2 diggings under different environments. Based on the scientific analysis on rheological experimental data, the viscoelasto-plastic properties of amphibolite under different environments were studied. The results show that the instantaneous elastic modulus and viscoplastic properties of amphibolite are affected little, the viscoelastic properties of amphibolite are significantly affected. Based on the experimental results and characteristics of recovered rock specimen, a generalized Kelvin model was chosen to simulate rheological properties of amphibolites and key parameters were obtained. It is found that the creep deformation modulus E1 is significantly influenced by the water, while the instant elastic modulus E2 is not significantly affected. The discreteness of the viscosity coefficient η is large, the influence of water on η is not clear and needs to be further studied. 展开更多

A multi-parameter nonlinear elasto-plastic constitutive model which can fully capture the three typical features of stress-strain response, linearity, plasticity-like stress plateau and densification phases was developed. The functional expression of each parameter was determined using uniaxial compression tests for aluminum alloy foams. The parameters of the model can be systematically varied to describe the effect of relative density which may be responsible for the changes in yield stress and hardening-like or softening-like behavior at various strain rates. A comparison between model predictions and experimental results of the aluminum alloy foams was provided to validate the model. It was proved to be useful in the selection of the optimal-density and energy absorption foam for a specific application at impact events. 展开更多

To meet the demands for large space and flexible compartmentation ofbuildings, laminated vierendeel trasses are adopted in high-position transfer story structures.First the bearing characteristics are analyzed, in which reasonable stiffness ratio of the upperchord, middle chord, and lower chord is derived. Then combined with an actual engineering model (1:8similar ratio), the static loading and pseudo-dynamic tests of two models for laminated vierendeeltrass used in transfer story structures are conducted, in which one model adopts reinforcedconcrete, and the other adopts prestressed concrete and shape steel concrete. Seismic behaviors areanalyzed, including inter-story displacement, base shear-displacement skeleton curves, andequivalent viscosity-damping curves. A program is programmed to carry out the elasto-plastic dynamicanalysis, and displacement time-history curves of the two models are derived. The test and analysisresults show that the laminated vierendeel trass with prestressed concrete and shape steel concretehas excellent seismic behaviors. It can solve the disadvantages of laminated vierendeel trussesused in transfer story structures. Finally, some design suggestions are put forward, which can bereferenced by similar engineering. 展开更多

With the rapid rising of heat flux and reduction of heat dissipating space of microelectronic devises, flattened sintered heat pipe has become an ideal conducting element of use in the electronic cooling field. A manufacturing technology named phase change flattening process is presented to fabricate the flattened grooved-sintered wick heat pipe (GSHP for short). Deformation geometry of flattened GSHP and the elasto-plastic deformation of flattening process are analyzed theoretically and verified by experiments. The results show that the vapor pressure inside sintered heat pipe during flattening process is determined by the saturated vapor pressure equation; the width and vapor area of flattened heat pipe change greatly as the flattening proceeds; the maximum equivalent strain distributes at the interface between wick and vapor in the fiat section; the buckling phenomenon can be well eliminated when the flattening temperature reaches 480 K; phase change flattening punch load increases with flattening temperature and displacement. 展开更多

The laws of the extrusion pressure changing with the extrusion parameters, such as the die angle, extrusion ratio, and friction coefficient, are obtained. The analysis of plane strain elastic-plastic bending of a linear strain hardening curved beam with a narrow rectangular cross section subjected to couples at its end is conducted based on a unified yield criterion. The solutions for the mechanical properties of plane strain bending are derived, which are adapted for various kinds of non-strength differential materials and can be degenerated to those based on the Tresca, von Mises, and twin-shear yield criteria. The dependences of the two critical bending moments, the radii of the interfaces between the elastic and plastic regions and the radial displacements of the points at the symmetrical plane on different yield criteria and Poisson’s ratios are discussed. The results show that the influences of different yield criteria and Poisson’s ratio on the two critical bending moments, the radii of the interfaces between the elastic and plastic regions and the radial displacements of the points at the symmetrical plane of the curved beam are significant. Once the value of bis obtained by experiments, the yield criterion and the corresponding solution for the materials of interest are then determined. 展开更多

The composition and sequence distribution of monomeric units in polyester polyether multiblock copolymer were studied by pyrolysis? gas chromatography (PGC) and pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (PGC/MS). PGC was applied to study the F t curve of the multiblock copolymer and PGC/MS was used to separate and identify the pyrolyzates. DTA experiment was used to study the decomposition temperature. The results show that the beginning point of elastomer’s decomposition was about 300?℃ and the decomposition temperature of most of the sample was 550?℃. Many pyrolyzates were produced because of the breaking of weak bonds in the sample. The possible microstructure was verified and the pyrolysis pathway of the copolymer was investigated. 展开更多

Finite dement formulations are used to simulate the evolution of the elastoplastic response of functionally graded cemented carbides (FGCC) due to thermal loading. The geometry of specimens is an axisymmetric solid cylinder with a two-dimensional gradient. The elastoplastic constitutive relationship is developed by constraint factors. Numerical results show that compressive stresses occur in the surface zone and tensile stresses in the cobalt rich zone when the temperature drops from the initial stress-free temperature of 800 to 0℃. The maximum value of the surface compressive stress is 254 MPa and the maximum value of the tensile stress is 252 MPa in the cobalt rich zones. When the cobalt concentration difference in the specimens is equal to or greater than 0.3, there is pronounced plastic flow in cobalt rich zone. When the temperature heats up from 0 to 800 ℃, the total plastic strain reaches 0.001 4. Plastic flow has a significant effect on the reduction of thermal stress concentration. 展开更多

First, the coerciveness of the functional is proved. Then the uniqueness of the solution of variational inequality for the elastoplastic contact problems is demonstrated. The existence of the solution is also demonstrated according to the sufficient conditions for the solution of the elliptic variational inequality. A mathematical foundation is developed for the variational extremum principle of elastoplastic contact problems. The developed variational extremum forms can give an effective and strict mathematical modeling to solve contact problems with mathematical programming. 展开更多

For each individual grain in the polycrystalline aggregate, the rate dependent model was adopted to calculate the plastic shear strain increment in combination with the Voce hardening law to describe the hardening response, the lattice reorientation caused by slip and twinning were calculated separately due to their different mechanisms. The elasto-plastic self consistent (EPSC) model was employed to relate the response of individual grain to the response of the polycrystalline aggregate. Rolling processes of AZ31 sheet and as-cast AZ31 alloy were simulated respectively. The predicted texture distributions are in aualitative a^reement with experimental results. 展开更多
