The nanohybrids were characterized by SEM, TEM and XPS, and the results show that CoO nanoparticles (3-5 nm) distribute uniformly on the surface of graphene. The CoO/graphene nanohybrids display high performance as an anode material for lithium-ion battery, such as high reversible lithium storage capacity (650 mA-h/g after 50 cycles, almost twice that of commercial graphite anode), high coulombic efficiency (over 95%) and excellent cycling stability. The extraordinary performance arises from the structure of the nanohybrids: the nanosized CoO particles with high dispersity on conductive graphene substrates are beneficial for lithium-ion insertion/extraction, shortening diffusion length for lithium ions and improving conductivity, thus the lithium storage performance was improved.展开更多

Statistics of the electric potential and charge distribution are made, respectively, on both sides of graphene nanopore with various diameters. Then, their changing relationship with respect to the nanopore diameter is determined. When applying a uniform electric field, polar water molecules are rearranged so that the corresponding relationship between the polarized degree of these molecules and the nanopore diameter can be created. Based on the theoretical model of ion transportation through nanochannels, the changing relationship between the concentration of anions/cations in nanochannels and bulk solution concentration is quantitatively analyzed. The results show that the increase of potential drop and charge accumulation, as well as a more obvious water polarization, will occur with the decrease of nanopore diameter. In addition, hydrogen ion concentration has a large proportion in nanochannels with a sodium chloride(NaCl) solution at a relative low concentration. As the NaCl concentration increases, the concentration appreciation of sodium ions tends to be far greater than the concentration drop of chloride ions. Therefore, sodium ion concentration makes more contribution to ionic conductance.展开更多

Although challenging, it is, therefore, necessary to achieve the sustainable release of Ag+ ions from a finite amount of Ag NPs. This study aims at designing an efficient and benign antimicrobial silver-based ternary composite composed of photocatalysis zinc oxide (ZnO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) as a carrier, in which the reactive oxygen species (ROS) excited from ZnO and Ag+ ions released from the Ag NPs cooperate to realize an effective antibacterial activity against E. coli and S. aureus. The constant effective bacterial performance of the ternary photocatalyst with minimum Ag content can be attributed to the increase in the available quantity of ROS, which results from the enhanced separation efficiency of the photogenerated carriers. The proposed system notably realized the long-term sustainable release of Ag+ ions with low concentration for 30 days when compared with an equivalent amount of silver nitrate. Moreover, the use of the composite prevents biotoxicity and silver wastage, and imparts enhanced stability to the long-lasting antibacterial efficacy.展开更多

In this work, DBD plasma was used to synthesize a nitrogen‐vacancy‐doped g‐C3N4 catalyst in situ for the first time.
