Optimal array parameters are determined bas...A novel automatic ultrasonic system used for the inspection of pipeline girth welds is developed, in which a linear phased array transducer using electronic scan is adopted. Optimal array parameters are determined based on a mathematical model of acoustic field for linear phased army derived from Huygens' principle. The testing method and the system structure are introduced. The experimental results show that the phased array transducer system has the same detectability as that of conventional ultrasonic transducer system, but the system architecture can be simplified greatly, and the testing flexibility and the testing speed can be improved greatly.展开更多

Pefformance of watermarking embedding algorithms utilizing this host model is still left unexplored. The authors investigate the decoding perform-nance of Spread Spectrum (SS) embedding algorithm in the standard Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel with the host signal being modeled as AR process. The SS embedding algorithm also use linear interference cancelation in the subspace spanned by watermark pattern. They study the influence of design parameters on the decoding performance. The analytic result is verified by Monte Carlo simulation on synthesized AR process. The result may be helpful to design watermarking system for speech, biomedical and image signals.展开更多
Based on the elastic trap-assisted tunneling mechanism in high-κgate stacks,a quantum percolation tunneling current 1/fγ noise model is proposed by incorporating quantum tunneling theory into the quantum percolation...Based on the elastic trap-assisted tunneling mechanism in high-κgate stacks,a quantum percolation tunneling current 1/fγ noise model is proposed by incorporating quantum tunneling theory into the quantum percolation model.We conclude that the noise amplitude of the PSD(Power Spectral Density)for three stages,namely the fresh device,one-layer BD(breakdown),and two-layer BD,increases from 10-22→10-14→10-8 A2/Hz.Meanwhile,the noise exponent γ for the three stages,has the 1/f2type(γ→2),1/fγ type(γ→1~2),and 1/f type(γ→1),respectively.The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.This model reasonably interprets the correlation between the bi-layer breakdown and the tunneling 1/fγ noise amplitude dependence and 1/fγ noise exponent dependence.These results provide a theoretical basis for the high-κ gate stacks bi-layer breakdown noise characterization methods.展开更多

Experimental investigations by means of optical(int...The contribution deals with the experimental and numerical investigation of compressible flow through the tip-section turbine blade cascade with the blade 54″ long. Experimental investigations by means of optical(interferometry and schlieren method) and pneumatic measurements provide more information about the behaviour and nature of basic phenomena occurring in the profile cascade flow field. The numerical simulation was carried out by means of the EARSM turbulence model according to Hellsten [5] completed by the bypass transition model with the algebraic equation for the intermittency coefficient proposed by Straka and P?íhoda [6] and implemented into the in-house numerical code. The investigation was focused particularly on the effect of shock waves on the shear layer development including the laminar/turbulent transition. Interactions of shock waves with shear layers on both sides of the blade result usually in the transition in attached and/ or separated flow and so to the considerable impact to the flow structure and energy losses in the blade cascade.展开更多
