A case of a 46-year-old woman with adenocarcinoma arising from intrahepatic heterotopic pancreas is reported herein. Computed tomography demonstrated a mass located in the bile duct of the left hepatic lobe. Pathological examination revealed a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma arising from intrahepatic heterotopic pancreas with nerve infiltration. This may be the first reported case of adenocarcinoma arising from intrahepatic heterotopic pancreas.展开更多

The work-up showed multiple right pulmonary lesions associated with bilateral moderate pleural effusion and left-sided pleural thickening and three hypodense nodules in the right lobe of the liver, peritoneal thickening, ascites, and multiple vertebral lytic lesions. The diagnosis of an epithelioid hemangioendothelioma was concluded through a histological examination of a computed tomography scan guided biopsy of the liver. The patient received a primary mono-chemotherapy with Adriamycin(75 mg/m^2 every three weeks) and intravenous bisphosphonates without response and general status impairment. The patient died after 16 months of follow-up.展开更多

Among 106 cases with GCTB in our hospital, there were 2 cases occurring soft-tissue recurrence which histories were reported. These two soft-tissue recurrences occurred with the interval of 6.9 years and 2.5 years respectively from pdmary diagnosis. The clinical presentation was nonspecific masses in soft tissue. Radiographic ossification was not found at periphery or within the masses. Through pathological examination peripheral ossification was found in 1 case and malignant transformation occurred in the other case. Through retrieving and reviewing literatures in PubMed, 19 cases of soft-tissue recurrence with detailed materials were collected and analyzed. Soft-tissue recurrence of GCTB is a rare episode which reflects its locally aggressive nature, the reasons of which are tumor cells implantation and tumor residual. Ossification at periphery or in the masses can be considered as a pathognomonic character of this episode in radiographic and pathohistological examination. The prevention lies in determining tumor extension preoperatively, proper non-tumor manipulations, removing the tumor and irrigating operative wound as completely as possible.展开更多

Varieties of names such as plantar fasciitis, jogger's heel, tennis heal, policeman's heel are used to describe it. Mechanical factors are the most common etiology of heel pain. Common causes of hell pain includes: Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spur, Sever's Disease, Heel bump, Achilles Tendinopathy, Heel neuritis, Heel bursitis. The diagnosis is mostly based on clinical examination. Normally, the location of the pain and the absence of associated symptoms indicating a systemic disease strongly suggest the diagnosis. Several therapies exist including rest, physical therapy, stretching, and change in footwear, arch supports, orthotics, night splints, anti-inflammatory agents, and surgery. Almost all patients respond to conservative nonsurgical therapy. Surgery is the last treatment option if all other treatments had failed. Rest, ice, massage, the use of correct exercise and complying with a doctor's advice all play important part in helping to recover from this hell pain condition, but getting good quality, suitable shoes with the appropriate amount of support for the whole foot is the most important.展开更多
