This type of heat pipe adsorber can solve the...A heat pipe type adsorption ice maker with two adsorbers for fishing boats is designed by using ammonia as refrigerant and compound of activated carbon-CaCl2 as adsorbent. This type of heat pipe adsorber can solve the problem of incompatibility between ammonia, copper, seawater and steel. The working process of the ice maker with 8.7kg adsorbent per bed is simulated. The results show that the optimal semi-cycle time is about 9 min at the evaporating temperature of -15℃, where the corresponding cooling power, specific cooling power per kilogram adsorbent SCP and coefficient of refrigerant performance COP are respectively 3.6kW, 217W·kg-1 and 0.404.展开更多

Adsorption exp...This study investigated the adsorption ability of ZCHC (zeolite/chitosan hybrid composite) as adsorbent for chromium (Cr(Ⅵ)), ZCHC was prepared with sol-gel method by mixing zeolite and chitosan. Adsorption experiment from aqueous solutions containing known amount of Cr(Ⅵ) using zeolite, chitosan and ZCHC was explored to evaluate the efficiency of ZCHC as adsorbent for Cr in a batch system. The amount of Cr(Ⅵ) adsorbed at different pH values, initial concentrations, adsorbent dosages, and contact times were determined by ICP-AES (inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry) in order to determine the optimum conditions for Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption. Furthermore, the adsorption mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ) by zeolite, chitosan and ZCHC was investigated by applying Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations to the data obtained. The net retention time and separation facto...Ethanol-water near-azeotropic mixture dehydration was investigated by formulated compound starchbased adsorbent(CSA), which consists of corn, sweet potato and foaming agent. The net retention time and separation factor of water over ethanol were measured by inverse gas chromatography(IGC). Results indicated that water has a longer net retention time than ethanol and that low temperature is beneficial to this dehydration process. Orthogonal test was conducted under different vapor feed flow rates, bed temperatures and bed heights, to obtain optimal fixed-bed dehydration condition. Dynamic saturated adsorbance was also studied. It was found that CSA has the same water adsorption capacity(0.15 g/g)as some commercial molecular sieves. Besides, this biosorptive dehydration process was found to be the most energy-efficient compared with other ethanol purification processes.展开更多

The effectiveness of the composites for Pb2+ removal from an aqueous solution with different initial concentrations, adsorbent doses and reaction times were examined. The Langmuir isotherms, Freundlich isotherm models and pseudo-second order kinetic model were used in this analysis. It was found that the Langmuir model fitted the experimental data better than the Freundlich model, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 93.37 mg.g-1. The pseudo-second order kinetic model also fit the experiment data well with an adsorption capacity of 70.73 mg.g-1 after being reused for 3 times. Furthermore, the composites may possibly be used in processes for industrial water treatment.展开更多

Poly(amidoxime)-reduced graphene oxide(PAO/rGO) composites with excellent adsorption capability for UO22+ were synthesized by in situ polymerization of acrylonitrile monomers on GO surfaces, followed by amidoximation treatment with hydroxylamine. The adsorption capacities of PAO/rGO composites for UO22+ reached as high as 872 mg/g at pH 4.0. The excellent tolerance of these composites for high salinity and their regeneration-reuse properties can be applied in the nuclear-fuel industry by high extraction of trace UO22+ ions from seawater.展开更多
