In this manuscript, we reported five cases of small intestinal carcinoma associated with the PJS. All the five patients have a history of PJS and postoperative pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of small intestinal carcinoma. Histopathological features and recommended surveillance were additionally discussed.展开更多

The development of metamaterials continues to redefine the boundaries of materials science. In the field of electromagnetic research and beyond, these materials offer excellent design flexibility with their customized properties and their tunability under external stimuli. In this paper, we first provide a literature review of metamaterials with a focus on the technology and its evolution. We then discuss steps in the industrialization process and share our own experience.展开更多

Based on our knowledge, there were only two cases reported by Korea all over the world currently. A case of postoperative Mycoplasma hominis infection after total knee replacement in our hospital was reported in this article. It was confirmed through mass spectrometer and Mycoplasma cultivation and treated by the first stage debridement, polyethylene insert replacement, and then drainage and irrigation combined with sensitive antibiotics after the operation. We observed that the C reactive protein (CRP) level correlates with the development of disease, while the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) remains at a high level, indicating the relevance between the Mycoplasma hominis infection caused by knee joint replacement and CRP. This study aims to report the case and review relevant literature.展开更多

Apophyseal fractures of the pelvis should be ruled out from apophysitis, os acetabuli and bony tumors. We report a case of fracture of anterior-inferior iliac spine following indirect injury to the hip in a young football player. The patient failed to get better with nonoperative management and continued to have pain in the left hip and signs and symptoms of impingement. He improved following surgical excision of the heterotopic bone and did not have any evidence of recurrence at 2 years followup.展开更多

Disabling complications are mainly loss of rotatory movements of the forearm. Various surgical procedures have been described in the literature to end up in forearm synostosis as a complication. We here presented a rare case of proximal forearm synostosis following a common but improper surgical technique for an olecranon fracture complicated by implant infection. The synostosis was treated by resection and fascia lata interposition graft.展开更多
