Mice were irradiated in two variants of fractionated irradiation: (1) traditional fractionation (in radiation therapy): 2 Gy once a day, 5 times a week, the total radiation dose 20 Gy; (2) extreme hypofractionation: 10 Gy once a week, on Mondays, the total radiation dose 20 Gy. The results of the study showed that irradiation of mice heads has no effect on their peripheral blood parameters in both variants of the applied fractionated irradiation and the behavior of mice does not depend on the type of ionizing radiation and the variant of fractionated exposure that we used. On the basis of these results it can be concluded that the option of extreme hypofractionation we have chosen can successfully replace traditional fractionation, which in some cases is applied when carrying out radiotherapy for treating brain tumors. The application of this type of fractionation can lead to shorter terms of radiotherapy and bigger patient capacity of medical centers that conduct radiotherapy.展开更多

Sensitivity tests revealed that the behavioral features of radiative brightness temperatures (BTs) at these three channels with increasing optical depth are different among different types of aerosols. Analyzing how BTs and their differences, xBT (BT11.5-BT12.5) and YBT (BT8.7-BT11.5), behave with varying optical depth can help to qualitatively distinguish among aerosols and semi-quantitatively estimate their optical thicknesses. In addition, the authors found that the vertical density profile of aerosols has little impact on this method.展开更多

The complex was characterized elemental analysis and IR, UV-Vis, NMR and mass spectroscopes. The technetium tracer 99mTcO-complex has also been synthesized by two methods using Ligand exchange method and direct reduction method. The radiochemical purity of the complex was over 95% as measured by thin layer chromatography. In vitro studies showed that the complex possessed good stability under physiological conditions. The partition coefficient indicated that the complex hydrophilic and the electrophoresis results showed that the complex neutral. Normal biodistributions of the 99mTC complex exhibit high lung, liver and spleen uptake of 27%, I 1%, and 12%, respectively. Blood and lungs clearance was quite, while liver activity remained high for a longer period with 12% injection dose present at 1 h post-inj ection. The radioactivity from the novel technetium complex was excreted mainly through the hepatobiliary system, which passed 35% of the complex at 1 h post-injection, and partially through the kidneys.展开更多
