It is found that the surface morphology of the as grown buffer layer after thermal annealing at 1 030 ℃ and 1 050 ℃ depends strongly on the thickness of the buffer layer. Jejunal diverticulosis is a rare entity with variable clinical and anatomical presentations.Its reported incidence varies from 0.05% to 6%.Although there is no consensus on the management of asymptomatic jejunal diver...Jejunal diverticulosis is a rare entity with variable clinical and anatomical presentations.Its reported incidence varies from 0.05% to 6%.Although there is no consensus on the management of asymptomatic jejunal diverticular disease,some complications are potentially life threatening and require early surgical treatment.We report a case of an 88-year-old man investigated for acute abdominal pain with a high biological inflammatory syndrome.Inflammation of multiple giant jejunal diverticulum was discovered at abdominal computed tomography (CT).As a result of the clinical and biological signs of early peritonitis,an emergency surgical exploration was performed.The first jejunal loop showed clear signs of jejunal diverticulitis.Primary segmental jejunum resection with end-to-end anastomosis was performed.Histopathology report confirmed an ulcerative jejunal diverticulitis with imminent perforation and acute local peritonitis.The patient made an excellent rapid postoperative recovery.Jejunal diverticulum is rare but may cause serious complications.It should be considered a possible etiology of acute abdomen,especially in elderly patients with unusual symptomatology.Abdominal CT is the diagnostic tool of choice.The best treatment is emergency surgical management.展开更多

CT revealed a cystic mass with a calcified reticulate rind. Subsequent surgery and pathological examination showed a gossypiboma. A simple experiment, using a barium-soaked surgical swab demonstrating similar CT appearance, supported our postulation that calcium deposition on the reticulated fibers of a surgical swab could generate such a characteristic 'calcified reticulate rind' sign. We believe that identification of this CT sign facilitates the diagnosis of gossypibomas.展开更多

T-ray PT prototype based on analysis of the T-ray’s merits was proposed and an NIR PT simulation system was developed in this paper. The architecture, algorithm and characteristics of the simulation system were studied through experimental test. Evaluations of the simulation system performance and corresponding promotional approach were made. It was shown that the solution of simulation system could be adapted for THz PT technology, and that the experimental results proved that the simulation system itself is suitable for parameter measurement of two-phase flow.展开更多

The retrieval sensitivity was evaluated by the degree of free- dom for signal (DFS). The combination of the ultraviolet (UV), UV polarization (UVPOL), and visible (VIS) bands enhances DFS of tropospheric ozone and improves the vertical resolution of the retrieved ozone profile. UVPOL reduces the dependence on solar zenith angle, mainly in- creases the sensitivity in upper troposphere. Polarization increased the DFS by 20% on the eastern side of the GOME-2 orbit, with little improvement on the western side because the increase in DFS due to polarization is depend- ent on the relative azimuth angle. The inclusion of the visi- ble band reduces significantly the dependence on viewing geometry, and mainly increases the DFS in the lower tro- posphere (0-6 kin) by a factor of two. It was possible to retrieve several independent pieces of tropospheric ozone information from GOME-2 UV/UVPOL/VIS measure- ments, especially in the lower troposphere.展开更多

The oligomers were evaluated as resins for water-based UV curable coating. The rheology of the two oligomers' aqueous so-lutions was investigated in terms of solid fraction, pH dependence, and temperature dependence. The solutions were found to be Newtonian fluid showing rather low viscosity even at high solid fraction of 0.55. The drying process of the coatings and the properties of the cured coatings were studied by comparing them with water-dispersed UV-curable polyurethane methyl acrylate. It was evident that the water-soluble coating dried more slowly; and that the overall properties were inferior to those of the water-dispersed coating.展开更多

Spin coating is...Recently, development of high technology has been required for the formation of thin uniform film in manufacturing processes of semiconductor as the semiconductor instruments become more sophisticated. Spin coating is usually used for spreading photoresist on a wafer surface. However, since rotating speed of the disk is very high in spin coating, the dropped photoresist scarers outward and reattaches on the film surface. A catch cup is set up outside the wafer in spin coating, and scattered photoresist mist is removed from the wafer edge by the exhaust flow generated at the gap between the wafer edge and the catch cup. In the dry process of a spin coating, it is a serious concern that the film thickness increases near the wafer edge in the case of low rotating speed. The purpose of this study is to make clear the effect of the catch cup geometry on the 3D boundary layer flow over the wafer surface and the drying rate of liquid film.展开更多
