Based on the mathematical model, it shows that the inherent nonlinearity, inner coupling, misalignments between the sensors and actuators, load uncertainties and external disturbances are the main issues that should be solved in engineering. Under the assumptions that the loads and external disturbance are measurable, the backstepping module controller developed in this work can tackle the above problems effectively. In reality, the load is uncertain due to the additions of luggage and passengers, which will degrade the dynamic performance. A load estimation algorithm is introduced to track the actual load asymptotically and eliminate its influence by tuning the parameters of controller online. Furthermore, considering the external disturbances generated by crosswind, pulling motor and air springs, the extended state observer is employed to estimate and suppress the external disturbance. Finally, results of numerical simulations illustrating closed-loop performance are provided.展开更多

In terms of Lyapunov’s stability theory and the stability analysis of the integer-order linear control systems, the definitions of external stability for fractional-order control systems are presented. By using the theorems of the Mittag-Leffler function in two parameters, the necessary and sufficient conditions of external stability are directly derived. The illustrative examples and simulation results are also given.展开更多

The response of the system undergoes stochastic resonance(SR) like behavior. The underlying mechanisms are fairly simple and robust. This phenomenon has been observed in a large variety of systems, including physical and biological systems. In the nervous system, the majority of synaptic input is too weak to make neurons fire a spike. This weak(or subthreshold) signals detection is very important for animal survival, and pulse detection is a simple but basic task of neuronal information transmission and processing. Some studies have found that subthreshold signals can be transmitted by the application of external noise. However, neurons are subjected to various kinds of inherent noise. Recently, theoretical work has revealed that this inherent noise improves signals detection ability. The detection ability of a single neuron is limited, and the neuronal circuit can perform this task very well by detecting the synchronization of presynaptic potentials. Here, we review recent studies of subthreshold detection by both single neurons and neuronal circuits.展开更多

Here the nonlinear feedback control law is used to cancel the effects of the external disturbances. For the controlled nonlinear system, the authors prove the well-posedness by the maximal monotone operator theory and the variational principle. Further the authors prove that the controlled nonlinear system is exponential stable by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to support these results.展开更多
