The results indicate that the hole F-factor F0 and surface tension are the main factors which influence the liquid dispersion expressed by the Sauter mean diameter D32. A correlation of D32 on surface tension, viscosity, .F-factor, weir height and liquid flow rate is proposed.展开更多

The flow in boundary layer is considered to be generated solely by the stretching of the sheet adjacent to porous medium with boundary wall slip condition. Highly nonlinear momentum and thermal boundary layer equations governing the flow and heat transfer are reduced to set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations by appropriate transformation. The resulting ODEs are successfully solved numerically with the help of shooting method. Graphical results are shown for non-dimensional velocities and temperature. The effects of heat generation/absorption parameter, the porous parameter, the viscoelastic parameter, velocity slip parameter, variable thermal conductivity and the Prandtl number on the flow and temperature profiles are presented. Moreover, the local skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number are presented. Comparison of numerical results is made with the earlier published results under limiting cases.展开更多

T-ray PT prototype based on analysis of the T-ray’s merits was proposed and an NIR PT simulation system was developed in this paper. The architecture, algorithm and characteristics of the simulation system were studied through experimental test. Evaluations of the simulation system performance and corresponding promotional approach were made. It was shown that the solution of simulation system could be adapted for THz PT technology, and that the experimental results proved that the simulation system itself is suitable for parameter measurement of two-phase flow.展开更多

Heat is generated within the fluid by both viscous and Darcy dissipations. The coupled nonlinear governing equations are solved analytically. The expressions for the temperature, the axial velocity, the local wall shear stress and the pressure gradient are obtained. The effects of various physical parameters such as the Jeffrey parameter λ1, the permeability parameter σ and the heat source/sink parameter β are analyzed through graphs, and the results are discussed in detail. It is observed that the velocity field increases with increasing values of the Jeffrey parameter but it decreases with increasing values of the permeability parameter. It is found that the pressure rise increases with decreasing Jeffrey parameter and increasing permeability parameter. We notice that the effect of the permeability parameter a is the strongest on the bolus trapping phenomenon. For λ1 = 0, N =0, the results of the present study reduce to the results of Tripathi [Math. Comput.Modelling 57 (2013) 1270-1283]. Further the effect of viscous and Darcy dissipations is to reduce the rate of heat transfer in the finite vertical porous channel under peristalsis.展开更多
