From the viewpoint o...In order to increase the efficiency and reliability of the dynamic analysis for flexible planar linkage containing the coupling of multi-energy domains, a method based on bond graph is introduced. From the viewpoint of power conservation, the peculiar property of bond graph multiport element MTF is discussed. The procedure of modeling planar flexible muhibody mechanical systems by bond graphs and its dynamic principle are deseribed. To overcome the algebraic difficulty brought by differential causality anti nonlinear junction structure, the constraint forces at joints can be considered as unknown effort sources and added to the corresponding O-junctions of system bond graph model. As a result, the automatic modeling on a computer is realized. The validity of the procedure is illustrated by a practical example.展开更多

Dynamical equation of multi-body system with quick startup and brake wa...A kind of active vibration control method was presented through optimal design of driving load of multi-body system with quick startup and brake. Dynamical equation of multi-body system with quick startup and brake was built, and mathematical model of representing vibration control was also set up according to the moving process from startup to brake. Then optimization vibration control model of system driving load was founded by applying theory of optimization control, which takes rigid body moving variable of braking moment as the known condition, and vibration control equation of multi-body system with quick startup and brake was converted into boundary value problem of differential equation. The transient control algorithm of vibration was put forward, which is the analysis basis for the further research. Theoretical analysis and calculation of numerical examples show that the optimal design method for the multi-body system driving load can decrease the vibration of system with duplication.展开更多
The CPB (Colorado potato beetle), Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), is the major insect pest of potato crops in North America, Europe and Asia. Large amounts of chemical insecticides are used to control this insect...The CPB (Colorado potato beetle), Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say), is the major insect pest of potato crops in North America, Europe and Asia. Large amounts of chemical insecticides are used to control this insect pest. Also, the CPB has developed over the years a resistance to most of the registered chemical insecticides, including those that were effective at one time. One of the most promising alternatives to chemical insecticides consists of taking advantage of natural enemies. The use of the stinkbug predator Perillus bioculatus to control the CPB has been successful at small scale. However, this natural enemy is not abundant in the nature and its hand release at large scale is not realistic. To remedy to this problem, predators must be massively released in potato fields using a mechanical distributor. Such a machine has been successfully designed and built at the Department of Soils and Agri-Food Engineering of University Lavak In this distributor, masses of predators are placed in small containers and mixed with a carrier material. In the field, the containers are mechanically opened at different locations, based on a source-point mass release option. These locations are determined in advance following a field monitoring of the populations of CPBs. Field trials proved that the mechanical distributor is reliable and ease of use. Its efficiency in releasing insect predators is high and comparable to that obtained in previous laboratory tests.展开更多
This paper presents a novel stochastic collocation method based on the equivalent weak form of multivariate function integral to quantify and manage uncertainties in complex mechanical systems. The proposed method, wh...This paper presents a novel stochastic collocation method based on the equivalent weak form of multivariate function integral to quantify and manage uncertainties in complex mechanical systems. The proposed method, which combines the advantages of the response surface method and the traditional stochastic collocation method, only sets integral points at the guide lines of the response surface. The statistics, in an engineering problem with many uncertain parameters, are then transformed into a linear combination of simple functions' statistics. Furthermore, the issue of determining a simple method to solve the weight-factor sets is discussed in detail. The weight-factor sets of two commonly used probabilistic distribution types are given in table form. Studies on the computational accuracy and efforts show that a good balance in computer capacity is achieved at present. It should be noted that it's a non-gradient and non-intrusive algorithm with strong portability. For the sake of validating the procedure, three numerical examples concerning a mathematical function with analytical expression, structural design of a straight wing, and flutter analysis of a composite wing are used to show the effectiveness of the guided stochastic collocation method.展开更多
A good cooling circle should ensure that the system can work at an appropriate temperature in the requirements of power increase,engine compartment constraint and working demands for modern engineering machinery,which...A good cooling circle should ensure that the system can work at an appropriate temperature in the requirements of power increase,engine compartment constraint and working demands for modern engineering machinery,which asks for a thorough understanding of system thermal loads before practical production.However,traditional experiment method spends a long time,costs a huge resource but lacks efficiency,whereas virtual design can avoid the shortcomings of traditional method and can analyze operating states adequately with variable loads on engine,generator,drives,battery pack and HVAC systems.Therefore,this paper focuses on a new virtual design method based on multi-dimension coupled simulation adopting Flowmaster software for initial prediction and CFX tool for further optimization.The simulation results in different operating conditions are compared and validated with experiments.Orthogonal experiment and range analysis are used to explore key parameters of cooling system.The research will be helpful in guiding future design and optimization of engineering machinery.展开更多
