Mobile multimedia streaming is an open topic in vehicular environment. Due to the high intermittent links, it has become a critical challenge to deliver high quality video streaming in vehicular networks. In this paper, we reform the Information Centric Networking (ICN) concept for multimedia delivery in urban vehicular networks. By leveraging the 1CN perspective, we highlight that vehicular peers can obtain multimedia chunks via the vehicle-to-cloud (V2C) approach to improve the delivery quality. Based on this, we propose a lightweight multipath selection strategy to guide the network system to adaptively adjust the forwarding means. Extensive simulations show that the proposed solution can optimize the utilization of network paths, lighten network loads as well as avoid wasting resources. 展开更多

The Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) based next generation wireless communications systems will support the transmission of multimedia traffic,such as voice,video and data,thus the CAC,which can support the multimedia traffic and guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS) of different traffic,has gained broad attention. In this paper,a novel multimedia traffic modeling method and a corresponding dynamic QoS based CAC are proposed. The analysis and simulation results show that the proposed CAC scheme can guarantee the QoS to different traffic demand,and improve the system performance significantly. 展开更多

Scheduling Algorithm for Multimedia Services in IEEE 802.16e OFDM System

Based on five scheduling types and their QoS requirements defined in IEEE 802.16e specification, this paper proposes a new scheduring algorithm for non-real-time or real-time multimedia services. Taking the performances of efficiency, fairness and complexity into consideration, the proposed algorithm enhances the efficiency of air interface resource at the expense of the short-time unfairness, but ensures the long-time fairness. Moreover, the proposed algorithm introduces an efficient QoS assurance mechanism, which implements the functions of congestion control, queuing management and traffic management. The simulation results based on a simplified traffic model show that the proposed algorithm guarantees better performances of efficiency and fairness than conventional algorithms, without increasing the algorithm complexity. Especially on the occasion of heavy-traffic requirement, the performance of efficiency and fairness can be improved by 50% at most. 展开更多

Most overlay of existing P2P streaming systems just focus on the view point of video content data.An multi-dimensional overlay for the P2P streaming system(MDOPS) is proposed for providing multi-dimensional view including video data,peers' service capability and online stability based on locality sensitive hashing.MDOPS organizes all Live/VoD peers and the above multi-dimensional information in a one-dimensinal DHT,uses range resource information publish/search and introduces multiple load balancing methods.MDOPS maintains an additional candidate coordinating peer list with high qualified peers who own the video data the peer would possibly access currently and in future.This list could speed up the process of searching peers for data scheduling layer.Simulation experiment based on trace of real streaming system has testified that MDOPS can effectively improve the quality of search results and smooth load distribution among peers without increasing the cost of resource publish/search. 展开更多

The concurrent presence of different types of traffic in multimedia applications might aggravate a burden on the underlying data network, which is bound to affect the transmission quality of the specified traffic. Recently, several proposals for fulfilling the quality of service(QoS) guarantees have been presented. However, they can only support coarse-grained QoS with no guarantee of throughput, jitter, delay or loss rate for different applications. To address these more challenging problems, an adaptive scheduling algorithm for Parallel data Processing with Multiple Feedback(PPMF) queues based on software defined networks(SDN) is proposed in this paper, which can guarantee the quality of service of high priority traffic in multimedia applications. PPMF combines the queue bandwidth feedback mechanism to realise the automatic adjustment of the queue bandwidth according to the priority of the packet and network conditions, which can effectively solve the problem of network congestion that has been experienced by some queues for a long time. Experimental results show PPMF significantly outperforms other existing scheduling approaches in achieving 35--80% improvement on average time delay by adjusting the bandwidth adaptively, thus ensuring the transmission quality of the specified traffic and avoiding effectively network congestion. 展开更多

Channel parameters estimation in an orthogonal for the receiver station is a multi-dimensional (MD) frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system optimization problem, because every user node has a separate local oscillator and every transmitter to receiver link has individual carrier frequency offset (CFO) and channel impulse response (CIR) parameters. In order to reduce the computational complexity for MD optimization, a time domain CFOs and CIRs estimation algorithm over the OFDMA based wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN) is proposed in this paper. In this algorithm, the receiver station can decouple the signal from every node by correlation based on specially designed training sequences, so that the MD optimization problem is simplified to an 1-D optimal problem. It is proved that the multiple CFOs can be identified from the correlation result using the phase shift of the consecutive training se- quences. Based on the CFOs estimation result, the CIRs can then he estimated according to the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion. The theoretic analysis and simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively decouple the signal from different user nodes and the bit error rate (BER) per- formance curves are close to the ideal estimation when the user number is not large. 展开更多

A high altitude platform station (HAPS) based communications scenario for providing Intemet access and broadband multimedia services to the passengers on board of a high speed train (traveling up to 300km/h) is proposed. Regarding the addressed scenario, when the propagation link between HAPS and train is blocked by obstacles, a three-dimensional (3-D) geometrical single cylinder spatial-temporal channel model is presented, in which closed form, mathematically tractable space-time correlation functions are obtained. It shows that the correlation functions determined by the 3-D model are of significant difference with those of the conventional 2-D model. Based on the analysis model, the paper derives a realized simulation model using sum-of-sinusoids approach, and applies method of equal areas (MEA) and modified method of equal areas (MMEA) to determine the model parameters. The fitting performance of the simulation model with the analysis one is evaluated by two means-square error (MSE) performance criteria. Finally, numerical simulation results verify the mathematical analysis conclusion, when N ≥21, simulation model has an excellent fitness with the analysis one. 展开更多

As a novel dynamic network service infrastructure, Internet of Things (IoT) has gained remarkable popularity with obvious su- periorities in the interoperability and real-time communication. Despite of the convenience in collecting information to provide the decision basis for the users, the vulnerability of embed- ded sensor nodes in multimedia devices makes the malware propagation a growing serious problem, which would harm the security of devices and their users financially and physi- cally in wireless multimedia system (WMS). Therefore, many researches related to the mal- ware propagation and suppression have been proposed to protect the topology and system security of wireless multimedia network. In these studies, the epidemic model is of great significance to the analysis of malware prop- agation. Considering the cloud and state tran- sition of sensor nodes, a cloud-assisted model for malware detection and the dynamic differ- ential game against malware propagation are proposed in this paper. Firstly, a SVM based malware detection model is constructed with the data sharing at the security platform in the cloud. Then the number of malware-infected nodes with physical infectivity to susceptible nodes is calculated precisely based on the at- tributes of WMS transmission. Then the statetransition among WMS the modified epidemic devices is defined by model. Furthermore, a dynamic differential game and target cost function are successively derived for the Nash equilibrium between malware and WMS sys- tem. On this basis, a saddle-point malware de- tection and suppression algorithm is presented depending on the modified epidemic model and the computation of optimal strategies. Nu- merical results and comparisons show that the proposed algorithm can increase the utility of WMS efficiently and effectively. 展开更多

This research describes an integrated multi-channel high accuracy current control LED (light emitting diode) driver with low dropout regulator implemented in a 0.35μm TSMC 2P4M CMOS process. With the new trend of backlighting applications for mobile electronics and portable devices requiring a smaller size, lower cost, lesser noise and accurate current control LED driver, it came up with the idea of integrating more than one design features within a single chip. The analysis of using a capacitor-less low dropout regulator to power the constant current source has been explored, with the implementation of wide range battery voltage of 3 V to 5 V. Possible load current variations were introduced and verified to output a fixed voltage of 2.8 V. A regulated cascode current mirror structure forms the multi-channel configuration string of LED's; the design ensures a current matching of less than 1% error and achieves a high accuracy current control of less than 1% error, regardless of the LED's forward voltage variation. Moreover, for high end portable device with multimedia applications, dimming frequency can be set to 10 MHz. In addition, a switching output is a better approach for managing LED's contrast and brightness adjustment as well as maximizing power consumption, ensuring longer life for driving string of LEDs. 展开更多
