Based on characteristic of the associated mining of multi-coal seam and the engineering geological characteristics of overburden,the mining impact pattern of multi- seam mining and the dynamic fracture mechanism of overburden were characterized by applying the engineering geological mechanical model test.The related strata movement parameters and influence area of multi-seam mining were obtained,the strike boundary angle is 61°,the full extraction coefficient is 0.93,the greatest subsidence angle is 81°,the horizontal movement factor is 0.38,the deviation of inflection point/mining deep is 0.11. The development height of caving zone and water flowing fractured zone of multi-seam mining were calculated,is 32 m and 81.5 m separatly.The assess of influence degree of coal layer safety mining is that,there exists the possibility of water and sand inflow when mining,some messures for mine water prevention and control should be used,and the mining thickness should be local strictly limit. 展开更多

The surface modification of aluminum and its alloys using plasma technology is increasingly being investigated, Thick ceramic coatings with high hardness on aluminum alloys can be prepared successfully using a micro-plasma oxidation (MPO) technique. In this work, the composition, microstructure and elemental distribution of ceramic coatings formed by MPO on LY 12 almnlnum alloy and its hardness are investigated using XRD, EPMA and microhardness instruments. The results show that the ceramic coatings consist of mullite,γ-Al2O3 and a lot of amorphous matter. The content of silicon in the coatings increases from interface to the coatings, however, the content of aluminum decreases along this direction. The maximum hardness of ceramic coatings is up to 9.2 GPa. 展开更多

A field monitoring program was carried out to record the slope failure process of a landfill with multiple intermediate covering layers.The monitored items include the leachate level,the surface horizontal displacement and the deep lateral displacement.Based on the monitoring data,analysis was carried out to verify the stability control effects of leachate drainage on the top layer,leachate drainage in different layers,and near-slope leachate drainage.The results show that the maximum slip area is 34 760 m 2 and the average surface horizontal displacement of the 10th platform is 1.77 m.Dumping near the slope is the main reason for the instability.The closer to the dumping area,the greater the degree of slip and the more significantly the leachate level rises.Affected by the intermediate covering layers,the failure mode is the local sliding inside the landfill,and the effect of near-slope leachate drainage on the stability control is obvious. 展开更多

Although carbon coating can improve the cycle life of anode for alkaline Zn batteries, the specific capacity reported is still lower compared with nanosized ZnO. Herein, carbon-coated nanosized ZnO(nano-ZnO@C) was synthesized by one-step heat treatment from a gel precursor in N2. Commercial ZnO and homemade ZnO prepared similarly in air atmosphere were studied for comparison. Structure analysis displayed that both nano-ZnO@C and homemade ZnO had a porous hierarchical agglomerated architecture produced from primary nanoparticles with a diameter of approximately 100 nm as building blocks. Electrochemical performance measurements showed that nano-ZnO@C displayed the highest electrochemical activity, the lowest electrode resistance, the highest discharge capacity(622 m A·h/g), and the best cyclic stability. These properties were due to the combination of nanosized ZnO and the physical capping of carbon, which maintained the high utilization efficiency of nano-ZnO, and simultaneously prevented dendrite growth and densification of the anode. 展开更多

George Orwell's Non-linear Narrative in The Road To Wigan Pier

The text is subversive on many levels, namely on the level of form. In order... Orwell's text The Road to Wigan Pier, henceforth referred to as RWP, is problematic due to the ambiguity of its status as a literary genre. The text is subversive on many levels, namely on the level of form. In order to show some aspects of the author's challenge of the conventional norms and methods of literary writing, a comparison between the writer's original diary of the journey to the industrial North of England, the main site of the coal mines, and the present book could be of great import. This reveals the author's genuine intellectual ability to manipulate and rearrange the events and scenes of the story on the discourse level. The author's manipulation and rearrangement of the story (the journey), events and scenes, clearly reveals his potential literary creativity and imagination. Orwell has deployed many strategies to fulfil this purpose. Each strategy is actually a contribution to the author's overall argument and at the same time it constitutes a further aspect of subversion. The first aspect of subversion lies on the level of form itself. The form of the book is effectively very challenging. Contrary to the conventional view of the fictional novel, the study of Orwell's text based on Grrard Genette's model reveals his challenge of the basic novelistic parameters. The novelistic ingredients such as setting, characterisation, and plot development have been treated in a subverting way. Though not totally discarded, they have been manipulated for the purpose of the author's general argument, which is Socialism. For instance, characters in the novel are treated as types, that is, representatives of their class. Besides, the order of scenes and events has been rearranged for the purpose of foregrounding representative scenes like the description of the Brookers' lodging-house. The author's treatment of the material of the text is primarily based on his personal experience as an outside observer during his journey to the North. Therefore, the exploration of the novel from a structuralist perspective based on Genette's model does not merely aim at the pure application of some literary and critical approaches to Orwell's text. This may be misleading since the investigation may fall in superficiality and simplicity. But the strategy deployed is actually a further contribution to the author's general argument and a manifestation of the novel's status as a creative and subversive text. 展开更多

In order to reach the best numerical properties with the numerical manifold method(NMM),uniform finite element meshes are always favorite while constructing mathematical covers,where all the elements are congruent.In the presence of steep gradients or strong singularities,in principle,the locally-defined special functions can be added into the NMM space by means of the partition of unity,but they are not available to those complex problems with heterogeneity or nonlinearity,necessitating local refinement on uniform meshes.This is believed to be one of the most important open issues in NMM.In this study multilayer covers are proposed to solve this issue.In addition to the first layer cover which is the global cover and covers the whole problem domain,the second and higher layer covers with smaller elements,called local covers,are used to cover those local regions with steep gradients or strong singularities.The global cover and the local covers have their own partition of unity,and they all participate in the approximation to the solution.Being advantageous over the existing procedures,the proposed approach is easy to deal with any arbitrary-layer hanging nodes with no need to construct super-elements with variable number of edge nodes or introduce the Lagrange multipliers to enforce the continuity between small and big elements.With no limitation to cover layers,meanwhile,the creation of an even error distribution over the whole problem domain is significantly facilitated.Some typical examples with steep gradients or strong singularities are analyzed to demonstrate the capacity of the proposed approach. 展开更多

Recently, development of high technology has been required for the formation of thin uniform film in manufacturing processes of semiconductor as the semiconductor instruments become more sophisticated. Spin coating is usually used for spreading photoresist on a wafer surface. However, since rotating speed of the disk is very high in spin coating, the dropped photoresist scarers outward and reattaches on the film surface. A catch cup is set up outside the wafer in spin coating, and scattered photoresist mist is removed from the wafer edge by the exhaust flow generated at the gap between the wafer edge and the catch cup. In the dry process of a spin coating, it is a serious concern that the film thickness increases near the wafer edge in the case of low rotating speed. The purpose of this study is to make clear the effect of the catch cup geometry on the 3D boundary layer flow over the wafer surface and the drying rate of liquid film. 展开更多
