Based on the translation invafiance built in multiscale stationary wavelet transform, components ...By combining multiscale stationary wavelet analysis with fuzzy c-means, a robust edge detection algorithm is presented. Based on the translation invafiance built in multiscale stationary wavelet transform, components in different transformed sub-images corresponding to a pixel are employed to form a feature vector of the pixel. All the feature vectors are classified with unsupervised fuzzy c-means to segment the image, and then the edge pixels are checked out by the Canny detector. A series of images contaminated with different intensive Gaussian noises are used to test the novel algorithm. Experiments show that fairly precise edges can be checked out robustly from those images with fairly intensive noise by the proposed algorithm.展开更多

This study investigates the distribution of black carbon (BC) and its correlation with total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (EPAH) in the surface sediments of China's marginal seas. BC content ranges from 〈0.1...This study investigates the distribution of black carbon (BC) and its correlation with total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (EPAH) in the surface sediments of China's marginal seas. BC content ranges from 〈0.10 to 2.45 mg/g dw (grams dry weight) in the sediments studied, and varied among the different coastal regions. The Bohai Bay sediments had the highest BC contents (average 2.18 mg/g dw), which comprises a significant fraction (27%-41%) of the total organic carbon (TOC) preserved in the sediments. In comparison, BC in the surface sediments of the North Yellow Sea, Jiaozhou Bay, East China Sea and the South China Sea is less abundant and accounted for an average of 6%, 8%, 14% and 5%, respectively, of the sedimentary organic carbon pool. The concentration of EPAH in the surface sediments ranges from 41 to 3 667 ng/g dw and showed large spatial variations among the sampling sites of different costal regions. The Bohai Bay has the highest ZPAH values, ranging from 79 to 3 667 ng/g dw. This reflects the high anthropogenically contaminated nature of the sediments in the bay. BC is positively correlated to TOC but a strong correlation is not found between BC and ZPAH in the surface sediments studied, suggesting that BC and PAHs preserved in the sediments are derived from different sources and controlled by different biogeochemical processes. Our study suggests that the abundance of BC preserved in the sediments could represent a significant sink pool of carbon cycling in China's marginal seas.展开更多

The proposed algo...Accurate salt dome detection from 3D seismic data is crucial to different seismic data analysis applications. We present a new edge based approach for salt dome detection in migrated 3D seismic data. The proposed algorithm overcomes the drawbacks of existing edge-based techniques which only consider edges in the x (crossline) and y (inline) directions in 2D data and the x (crossline), y (inline), and z (time) directions in 3D data. The algorithm works by combining 3D gradient maps computed along diagonal directions and those computed in x, y, and z directions to accurately detect the boundaries of salt regions. The combination of x, y, and z directions and diagonal edges ensures that the proposed algorithm works well even if the dips along the salt boundary are represented only by weak reflectors. Contrary to other edge and texture based salt dome detection techniques, the proposed algorithm is independent of the amplitude variations in seismic data. We tested the proposed algorithm on the publicly available Netherlands offshore F3 block. The results suggest that the proposed algorithm can detect salt bodies with high accuracy than existing gradient based and texture-based techniques when used separately. More importantly, the proposed approach is shown to be computationally efficient allowing for real time implementation and deployment.展开更多

The method includes reconstructing the signal from the wavelet modulus maxima. For the purpose of maxima selection, the spatially selective noise filtration technique was used to distinguish modulus maxima produced by signal from the one created by noise. To test the method, sodium spectrum measured at a wide slit was deconvolved. He-Ne spectrum measured at the corresponding slit width was used as slit function. Sodium measured at a narrow slit was used as the reference spectrum. The deconvolutton result shows that this method can enhance the resolution of the degraded spectrum greatly.展开更多

To improve the quality of computation experience for mobile devices,mobile edge computing(MEC)is a promising paradigm by providing computing capabilities in close proximity within a sliced radio access network,which s...To improve the quality of computation experience for mobile devices,mobile edge computing(MEC)is a promising paradigm by providing computing capabilities in close proximity within a sliced radio access network,which supports both traditional communication and MEC services.However,this kind of intensive computing problem is a high dimensional NP hard problem,and some machine learning methods do not have a good effect on solving this problem.In this paper,the Markov decision process model is established to find the excellent task offloading scheme,which maximizes the long-term utility performance,so as to make the best offloading decision according to the queue state,energy queue state and channel quality between mobile users and BS.In order to explore the curse of high dimension in state space,a candidate network is proposed based on edge computing optimize offloading(ECOO)algorithm with the application of deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm.Through simulation experiments,it is proved that the ECOO algorithm is superior to some deep reinforcement learning algorithms in terms of energy consumption and time delay.So the ECOO is good at dealing with high dimensional problems.展开更多
