近年我国史学界关于侬智高国籍问题的讨论

如何评论公元十一世纪中叶在中国南部发生的侬智高反宋战争,史学界意见纷纭。其中关于侬智高的国籍问题,在国际上有泰国、越南、中国三说;在国内也有越南、中国两说。新中国成立以来的历次讨论,分歧一直存在。七十年代末以来,这个问题的争论尤其热烈,仍有两种意见,其中认为侬智高是中国人者居多。

宋代中越边境的少数民族——壮族

一、壮族势力的崛起与汉族的关系中国南方的壮族是中国最大的少数民族。在越南,壮族被历史地划为侬族,尤其最近,傣—侬联合,成为越南36个少数民族中最大的少数民族。宋代,壮人经历了历史上最大一次浩劫:日益强盛的汉人和越南人不断冲击着壮族地区,为了争取独立,强悍的壮人奋起反抗外族的统治。然而,其最后的失败,意味着壮族永远失去了自治发展的机会。壮族身份问题十分复杂。其究竟是中国少数人种,还是越南少数人种,一直纠缠不清。

Sexual Fusion and Life History of Scytosiphon lomentaria (Scytosiphonaceae, Phaeophyceae) in Dalian, China

Morphology and life history of a brown alga Scytosiphon lomentaria (Lyngbye) Link (Scytosiphonaceae, Phaeophyceae) were investigated from 2005 to 2009 in the coastal waters of Dalian, China. The erect thalli collected in the field were tubular, hollow, and commonly constricted at intervals. Ascocysts were presented. Plurilocular gametangia, which were positioned in continuous sori on the erect thallus surface, produced biflagellar gametes. Gametophytes were dioecious and gametes were nearly isogamous. Gametes fusion occurred in three types. Type one, female and male gametes fused directly while swimming; type two, female gamete settled first, with which a male one contacted and fused rapidly; type three, while settling adjacently, a male gamete's entire protoplast moved slowly into the previously settled female one, with only an empty cell membrane left. In culture zygotes developed into crustose sporophytes that formed unilocular sporangia. Biflagellar zoospores developed into erect thalli that formed plurilocular gametangia. The results indicated that a periodical heteromorphic alternation history with haploid gametophyte generation and diploid sporophyte generation exists in S. lomentaria of the Dalian populations.

A Glance at Science-Related Museums on the Chinese Mainland

Science-related museums are a special kind of museum concerned with science,technology,the natural world,and other relevant issues.On the Chinese mainland,the emergence and development of science-related museums have been influenced by both Western culture and Chinese culture and society.These museums,which include science and technology museums,science centers,specialized museums,and scientific sites,play multiple roles,acting as bases for popular science and patriotic education,research institutes,etc.Today,such museums are attracting more and more public and scholarly attention.

Examples of National and Transnational Cinema： Akira Kurosawa＇s Yojimbo and Sergio Leone＇s A Fistful of Dollars

The term transnational originated in the historical field when, in the late 1990s, lan Tyrrell wrote a seminal essay entitled ＂What is Transnational History？＂ and changed the course of the academic discipline, claiming that studying the history of a nation from inside its borders was outmoded because the study of history concerns the movements of peoples, ideas, technologies, and institutions across national boundaries. The study of cross-national influences and the focus on the relationship between nation and factors beyond the nation spilled over into many other fields, especially into cinematic studies. Today transnational refers to the impossibility of assigning a fixed national identity to much cinema, to the dissolution of any stable connection between film＇s place of production and the nationality of its makers and performers. Because there is a lot of critical debate about what constitutes national and transnational cinema, the study of international remakes is a promising method to map the field with some accuracy. This essay will analyze the journey from Hammett＇s novel to Kurosawa＇s film and then to Leone＇s western, and will demonstrate how the process of adaptation functions and what happens to a ＂text＂ when it becomes tmnsnational and polysemic. Because Leone is the creator of the Italian western, the one who initiated the cycle that was copied many times over for a decade, we must look at A Fistful of Dollars as a prototype, a movie that when dissected can shed light on the national-transnational dichotomy of the spaghetti western. However, before studying the prototype, we must look at the complex history of the origin of the first spaghetti western, taking into account that A Fistful of Dollars was ＂transcoded＂ by Leone from Kurosawa＇s Yojimbo （1961） that derived his script from Dashiell Hammett＇s RedHarvest （1929）.

Toxic Dinoflagellate Alexandrium tamarense Induces Oxidative Stress and Apoptosis in Hepatopancreas of Shrimp(Fenneropenaeus chinensis)

This study investigated the inductive effect ofAlexandrium tamarense, a toxic dinoflagellate producing paralytic shell- fish poison, on oxidative stress and apoptosis in hepatopancreas of Chinese shrimp, Fenneropenaeus chinensis. The individuals of E chinensis were exposed to 200 and 1000 cells mL-1 of A. tamarense with their superoxide dismutase （SOD）, glutathione S-transferase （GST） activities, malonyldialdehyde （MDA） concentration, and caspase gene （FcCasp） expression in hepatopancreas determined at 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. In addition, apoptosis in hepatopancreas of E chinensis at 96 h after exposure was determined through terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling （TUNEL） assay. The hepatopancreatic SOD and GST activities of F. chinensis exposed to 1000 cells mL-1 ofA. tamarense showed a bell-shaped response to exposure time. The hepatopancreatic MDA concentration ofF. chinensis exposed to 1000 cellsmL-1 ofA. tamarense increased gradually from 48 to 96h, and such a trend corresponded to the decrease of GST activity. The hepatopancreatic FcCasp transcript abundance of F. chinensis exposed to 1000 cells mL-1 ofA. tamarense was positively and linearly correlated to MDA concentration. Results of TUNEL assay showed that exposure to 1000 cells mL-1 of A. tamarense induced apoptosis in the hepatopancreas of E chinensis. Our study revealed that A. tamarense exposure influenced the antioxidative status ofF. chinensis and caused lipid peroxidation and apoptosis in the hepatopancreas of shrimp.

Keeping Abreast of“International Historical Sciences”:Dialogue and Exchange

The 22nd International Congress of Historical Sciences,to which Chinese President Xi Jinping wrote a congratulatory letter,took place in 2015.This congratulatory letter has since been a subject of discussion among Chinese and foreign historians because it involves several fundamental issues in historical sciences.This paper presents Finnish historian Marjatta Hietala’s interview with Wang Yuji.The interview centers on four major propositions of President Xi:“Historical research forms the basis of all social sciences”;“History is our best teacher”;“Observing China’s past is an important angle for observing China today”;and“Historians can and should play an active role in building a community of shared future for mankind.”The in-depth discussion reveals the convergence and divergence of historians’opinions both at home and abroad on some fundamental issues of historical sciences.

Reading Across Cultures： Global Narratives, Hotels and Railway Stations

This article takes its cue from the English critic, novelist and painter John Berger. He argues that what we know determines what we see. Hotels and railway stations, though they differ in size, design and appearance, are places of temporary national and international congress that are recognized by everyone. They become visible or even iconic once their history or their role is turned into at least part of a wider narrative in literature, film or in other arts. This provides a representative focus by which we may read a city＇s or a nation＇s past. In exemplifying such connections I focus first on the long-term history of Friedrichstraβe station and some of the surrounding hotels in the context of the history of Berlin, situating them within the national and, by implication, also the international context. Secondly, I will consider the outbreak of the First World War in 1914 as an event in which the role of railway stations generated both personal and collective memories across cultures and over several decades.

Four Methods That Should Be Mastered in the Study of the Historical Experience of the People＇s Republic of China

It is necessary to master certain scientific methods in studying the historical experience of the People＇s Republic of China; that is, we should study the experience of different periods of New China and at the same time study the experience of various historical periods as related to one another; we should study the successful experience of New China and at the same time study its errors and setbacks; and we should view the historical experience of New China from today＇s perspective and at the same time study it by placing it under given historical conditions.
