It can affect the ability to function, think, and feel. In learning process, learners are strongly affected by motivation. However, there is a group of students that is worthy of being noticed, and it seems that they have no motivation and lose interest in their study and other activities. According to a case study of Mr. WANG, the symptom of his depression was described, and the paper employing motivation theory aims at analyzing the depression severity and what causes depression, in order to uncover the students＇ inner problems and tries to find proper ways to motivate them and help them overcome the feeling of depression. This report presents the processes of CL implemented in two ...Studies on Cooperative Learning （CL） have demonstrated advantages and effectiveness of employing strategies of CL on English as a Second Language （ESL）. This report presents the processes of CL implemented in two English intensive reading courses at a Chinese university. The purpose is to arouse the students＇ awareness of working in groups in their English reading classroom and to enhance their reading comprehension at tertiary level. The results show that students can adapt to small group work when they realize the benefits brought to them. Although positive effectiveness of CL is prevalent at any levels in educational contexts, benefits of CL on ESL are not deeply cultivated as expected, particularly for Chinese learners of English and some problems can also be found in implementing CL. As the emphasis of curriculum of English Language Teaching （ELT） in China has been on developing students＇ competence in communication in English, it is necessary for teachers to adopt CL in classroom instructions rather than teacher-centered approaches.展开更多

Beside the theoretical foundation of the course subject, the students were introduced to several professional skills such as： decision making tools, technical review meetings, interaction with customers, and teamwork skills. The design challenge was to develop a bike rack to meet a list of technical and marketing constraints. Details of the project requirements are presented with a brief overview of the main project mentoring tools. Students＇ creativity is discussed through two samples of the student work. It was noticed that, the basic creativity skills of the students can be improved by using some of the training tools, however, the students vary in their response to this training.展开更多
