Improving college students' listening and speaking ability is a very important part of college English teaching Based on the foreign and domestic studies on how to improve students' listening and speaking ability, this paper explores the 1 + 1 model in listening and speaking class, which is to divide the listening and speaking class into two parts--small speaking class combined with students' online autonomous learning. Through one-year experiment and study on two classes, although there is no significant difference between the performances of these classes, this study has shed some light on how to vary the teaching methods, how to improve the class efficiency, students' autonomy in leaming, and how to build new assessment system. Learning evaluation reform, an important part of the College English Teaching Reform, is not only a basis for teachers to reflect on their teaching method, to improve their teaching management, and to ensure the teaching quality, but also an effective means for students to enhance their learning efficiency and to gain sound learning effect as well. This research was intended to apply action research to the construction of multiple learning evaluation system with the aim of proving the effectiveness of the system on raising students' learning autonomy to find problems in the teaching, to testify the problems through questionnaire, then to design a feasible teaching strategy and carry out an experimental teaching, and finally to reflect on the whole teaching process from the perspective of how well the learner's learning autonomy was enhanced. The research result is valid, positively testifying the presupposition that the Multiple Evaluation System is a comprehensive one, which makes it possible to evaluate the students' progress in the whole learning process. 展开更多

Since the process writing was raised in the L2 writing in 1970s, the feedback has been an important part of teaching. A range of researchers have investigated the effect of different types of error feedback to find whether the feedback can help L2 writers improve the accuracy of their writing. Similar to the previously discussed question, they have also reached rather controversial conclusions. Most often, these studies have categorized corrective feedback as either direct or indirect. To explore the effects of corrective feedback in L2 writing, the paper investigated the types of feedback given to 30 college students of Tianhe College in Guangdong province. The study improved that correction feedback can improve accuracy in student writing. 展开更多
