目的:评估在微创玻璃体切除术中应用睫状体平坦部"L"形切口摘出后段眼内大异物的效果。方法:采用双向性队列研究,分析2013年1月至2019年6月南方医科大学附属小榄医院后段眼内大异物29例(29眼)。根据术前CT和(或)B超检查确定... 目的:评估在微创玻璃体切除术中应用睫状体平坦部"L"形切口摘出后段眼内大异物的效果。方法:采用双向性队列研究,分析2013年1月至2019年6月南方医科大学附属小榄医院后段眼内大异物29例(29眼)。根据术前CT和(或)B超检查确定后段眼内异物的长及宽,根据异物最大宽度(W)分组,以W≤3 mm、3 mm5 mm分成A、B、C 3组。A组及C组分别通过常规与角膜缘平行的睫状体平坦部"一"形扩大切口和角膜缘切口摘出异物。B组通过睫状体平坦部"L"形切口摘出异物。术后随访6个月以上。结果:A组13例,B组8例,C组8例;其中B组摘出异物长度为(5.4±2.9)mm,最大宽度为(2.2±0.8)mm,厚度为(1.6±0.9)mm。所有异物均一次手术摘出成功,末次随访视网膜均在位。术后增生性玻璃体视网膜病变发生率:C组(4例,50%)>B组(2例,25.0%)>A组(2例,15.4%);C组合并术后角膜溃疡穿孔1例(12.5%)。术后B组1例(12.5%)复发性视网膜脱离,手术后复位。3组均无严重并发症。结论:在微创玻璃体切除术摘出后段较大异物中,经睫状体平坦部"L"形切口手术成功率高,术后并发症少。 展开更多

A coupled system of the interdecadal sea-air oscillator model is studied. The E1 Nifio-southem oscillation (ENSO) atmospheric physics oscillation is an abnormal phenomenon involved in the tropical Pacific ocean-atmosphere interactions. The oscillator model is involved with the variations of both the eastern and western Pacific anomaly pat- terns. This paper proposes an ENSO atmospheric physics model using a method of the perturbation theory. The aim is to create an asymptotic solving method for the ENSO model. Employing the perturbed method, the asymptotic solution of corresponding problem is obtained, and the asymptotic behaviour of the solution is studied. Thus we can obtain the prognoses of the sea surface temperature anomaly and related physical quantities. 展开更多

To investigate the tissue-specificities of isozymes and the genetic structureof wild spotted halibut ( Verasper variegatus) population, horizontal starch gel electrophoresiswas performed on 45 individuals collected in part of the Yellow Sea. The performances of 17 isozymesin 8 kinds of tissues or organs were screened preliminarily in a TC-7.0 buffer system. The resultsshowed that the screened isozymes displayed remarkable tissue-specificities. Finally, 14 enzymes(AAT, ADH, EST, OPI, G3PDH, IDHP, LAP, LDH, MDH, MPI, PGDH, PGM, SDH and SOD) and 4 kinds of tissues(eye, skeleton muscle, liver and heart) were selected for genetic analysis. Fourteen isozymes areencoded by 20 loci, and 9 of them are polymorphic. The polymorphic loci are AAT-1~*, GPI-2~*,G3PDH~*, IDHP-1~*, LDH~*, MPI~*, PGM-1~*. PGM-2~* and SDH~*, and the proportion of polymorphic lociis 0.4500 (P_(0.99)) ? Though light conditions are known to affect the development and anti-predation strategies of several aquatic species, relatively little is known about how different species react to light, or how light can affect these species during different points in their life-cycle. In this study, we used four sympatric anuran tadpoles (Bufo gargarizans, B. melanostictus, Pelophylax nigromaculatus and Microhyla fissipes) as animal system to examine species-specific activities of the underdoing different light intensity treatments, so as to better understand how they respond to light. We exposed four different species of tadpoles to 1660 and 14 lux light intensity treatments and then measured several parameters including development stage, body length and tail length, and as well as their basic activities. The results of this observation and analysis showed that the activities of tadpoles were significantly greater in B. gargarizans and B. melanostictus than in P. nigromaculatus and M. fissipes; and were also significantly greater during times of high light intensity as compared to during low light intensity. Moreover, the observed relationship between species and light intensity was significant. The activities ofB. gargarizans and B. melanostictus tadpoles were greater in high light, while the activity of P. nigromaculatus tadpoles was greater in low light intensity, while M. fissipes tadpoles showed no differences in either low or high intensity light. Furthermore, the activities orB. gargarizans, B. melanostictus and M. fissipes tadpoles in terms of developmental stage, body size or tail length did not seem to differ with light intensity, but during early larval developmental period of P. nigromaculatus, the activity of tadpoles was negatively correlated with development stage, but irrelevant to either body size or tail length in different light intensities. These results lead us to conclude the observed activities of the four sympatric anuran tadpoles are closely correlated with their specific anti-predation strategies. 展开更多

Objective: To investigate the urinary soy isoflavone metabolites from women, female piglets and rats fed with diet containing soy protein. Methods: Urinary samples from human and animals were collected after soy diet consumption. Identification for soy isoflavone metabolites in urine samples was processed using an Agilent Bruker LC Esquire ion trap system. Quantification of aglycone and conjugated soy isoflavone metabolites were also analyzed using a method published previously. Results: Identification studies showed that aglycones and conjugates of soy isoflavone metabolites were found in women and porcine samples. Interestingly, glucuronide conjugate of equol, besides glucuronide conjugates of genistein and daidzein, were found in rat urine. Glucuronide conjugate of equol was the major metabolite found in rat urine. A quantitative study showed that conjugated forms of isoflavones were more than 90% in woman urine, were between 80.5% and 84.5% in female porcine urine, and were less than 50% in female rat urine. Conclusion: Equol is the major metabolite found in female rat urine, but it is not found in woman or female porcine urine. Urinary profiles show that porcine model is more appropriate for mimicking human soy diet consuming studies. 展开更多

Investigation of Variability in Seed Size on Seedling Establishment of Buchholzia coriacea Engler

Investigation was carried out on the significance of seed size on morphological traits in seedlings of Buchholzia eoriaeea Engler, a medicinal plant in Southwestern Nigeria. Three size classes-large (seeds 〉 40 g), medium (seeds between 25 and 40 g) and small (seed 〈 25 g) were used. Ninety uniformly growing seedlings from each size class were assessed for shoot height, number of leaves, collar diameter, leaf area and biomass production for six months. Seed size showed significant effect on height growth, collar diameter and number of leaves (P 〈 0.05). Seedlings from large seed size class had the best height and collar diameter (45.3 cm, 8.7 mm). Seeds of large and medium seed size classes had overall means of 15.6 and 15.5 leaves/seedling respectively. Leaf dry weight, stem dry weight and root biomass in seedlings from the three seed size classes were significantly different at P 〈 0.05 with the highest mean values for leaf dry weight, stem dry weight and root biomass recorded by seedlings from the large seed size class. The results showed that seed size has great influence on seedling growth when they are young. With availability of sufficient nutrient and light, effect of seed size on seedling growth and development could disappear as seedlings attain maturity. 展开更多

Background: Birch pollen sensitization and associated pollen-food syndrome among Chinese allergic patients have not been investigated. Methods: Sera from 203 allergic patients from the northern part of China and collected during February to July 2014 were investigated. Specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) against birch pollen extract Bet v and major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1 were measured using the ADVIA Centaur. The presence of major apple allergen Mal d 1 and soy bean allergen Gly m 4 specific IgE was measured by ImmunoCAP 100. Results: Among the 203 sere, 34 sera (16.7%) had specific IgE to Bet v and of these, 28 sere (82.4%) contained Bet v 1-specific IgE. Among the 28 sera with Bet v 1-specific IgE, 27 sera (96.4%) contained Mal d 1-specific IgE and 22 sera (78.6%) contained Gly m 4-specific igE. Of the 34 Bet v-positive sera, 6 sera (17.6%) contained no specific IgE for Bet v 1, Mal d 1, or Gly m 4. Almost all Bet v-positive sera were donated during the birch pollen season. Conclusions: The prevalence of birch allergy among patients visiting health care during pollen season can be as high as 16.7% in Tangshan City. The majority of Chinese birch allergic patients are IgE-sensitized to the major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1 as well as to the major apple allergen Mal d 1 and soy bean allergen Gly m 4. A relatively high number of patients (17.6%) are IgE-sensitized to birch pollen allergen(s) other than Bet v 1. The high prevalence of specific IgE to Mal d 1 and Gly m 4 among Bet v 1-sensitized patients indicates that pollen-food allergy syndrome could be of clinical relevance in China. 展开更多

The end-Paleozoic biotic crisis is characterized by two-phase mass extinctions;the first strike,resulting in a large decline of sessile benthos in shallow marine environments,occurred at the end-Guadalupian time.In order to explore the mechanism of organisms' demise,detailed analyses of depositional facies,fossil record,and carbonate carbon isotopic variations were carried out on a Maokou-Wujiaping boundary succession in northwestern Sichuan,SW China.Our data reveal a negative carbon isotopic excursion across the boundary;the gradual excursion with relatively low amplitude(2.15‰) favors a long-term influx of isotopically light 12 C sourced by the Emeishan basalt trap,rather than by rapid releasing of gas hydrate.The temporal coincidence of the beginning of accelerated negative carbon isotopic excursion with onsets of sea-level fall and massive biotic demise suggests a cause-effect link between them.Intensive volcanic activity of the Emeishan trap and sea-level fall could have resulted in detrimental environmental stresses and habitat loss for organisms,particularly for those benthic dwellers,leading to their subsequent massive extinction. 展开更多

Focal plants are considerably affected by their neighbouring plants,especially when growing in heterogeneous soils.A previous study on grasses demonstrated that soil heterogeneity and species composition affected plant biomass and above-and belowground allocation patterns.We now tested whether these findings were similar for forbs.Three forb species(i.e.Spartina anglica,Limonium bicolor and Suaeda glauca)were grown in pots with three levels of soil heterogeneity,created by alternatively filling resource-rich and resource-poor substrates using small,medium or large patch sizes.Species compositions were created by growing these forbs either in monocultures or in mixtures.Results showed that patch size×species composition significantly impacted shoot biomass,root biomass and total biomass of forbs at different scales.Specifically,at the pot scale,shoot biomass,root biomass and total biomass increased with increasing patch size.At the substrate scale,shoot biomass and total biomass were higher at the large patch size than at the medium patch size,both in resource-rich and resource-poor substrates.Finally,at the community scale,monocultures had more shoot biomass,root biomass and total biomass than those in the two-or three-species mixtures.These results differ from earlier findings on the responses of grasses,where shoot biomass and total biomass decreased with patch size,and more shoot biomass and total biomass were found in resource-rich than resource-poor substrates.To further elucidate the effects of soil heterogeneity on the interactions between neighbour plants,we advise to conduct longer-term experiments featuring a variety of functional groups. 展开更多
