In July 2006,a pictorial stone tomb of the Han Dynasty was dicsovered on the South Outer Ring Road of Changqing District,Jinan,Shandong.Facing south,this tomb was a stone-and-brick multi-chamber tomb consisting of the...In July 2006,a pictorial stone tomb of the Han Dynasty was dicsovered on the South Outer Ring Road of Changqing District,Jinan,Shandong.Facing south,this tomb was a stone-and-brick multi-chamber tomb consisting of the passage,antechamber,middle chamber,rear chamber and the left and right wing chambers,from which over 30 pictorial stones were unearthed.The motifs of the pictorial stones included social life,historic tales,mythic legends,decorative patterns,etc.;the carving technique was mainly line engraving on silhouetted figures ove r the slightly indented backgrounds.Owing to the looting in eayrl years,the grave goods were severely damaged and lost.The date of this tomb was the late Eastern Han Dynasty,n ad it provided valuable materials for the studies on th e archaeology of the Han Dynasty,history of Chinese art and the local history of the Jinan area.展开更多
