[Method] the lectin gene sequence,3'-junction and 5'-junction sequence between host plant DNA integrated DNA of MON89788 soybean were amplified independently, and the three fragments were cloned into the cloning vector pMD18-T in order through molecular manipulation method to construct pMD-LM3M5,the applicability of the constructed novel PRM was tested. [Result] Sequencing confirmation result showed that the PRM was 3 700 bp in length, containing 1 029 bp of recombined DNA fragment. The limits of qualitative detection of the PRM were 10 copies. [Conclusion] The PRM constructed in this study was suitable for the identification of MON89788 event.展开更多

A new detection scheme consisting of two steps is proposed for the differential unitary space-time modulation (DUSTM) system. In the first step, the data sequence is estimated by conventional unitary space-time demodulation (DUSTD) and differentially encoded again to produce an initial estimate of the transmitted symbol stream. In the second step, the initial estimate of the symbol stream is utilized to initialize an expectation maximization (EM)-based iterative detector. In each iteration, the most recent detected symbol stream is employed to estimate the channel, which is then used to implement coherent sequence detection to refine the symbol stream. Simulation results show that the proposed detection scheme performs much better than the conventional DUSTD after several iterations.展开更多

Firstly, a definition of fuzzy partition entropy is proposed after introducing the concepts of fuzzy probability and fuzzy partition. The relation of the probability partition and the fuzzy c-partition of the image gradient are used in the algorithm. Secondly, based on the conditional probabilities and the fuzzy partition, the optimal thresholding is searched adaptively through the maximum fuzzy entropy principle, and then the edge image is obtained. Lastly, an edge-enhancing procedure is executed on the edge image. The experimental results show that the proposed approach performs well.展开更多

Australia and New Zealand are the two countries recognized as the ones with the most stringent inspection and quarantine measures in the world. The mail inspection work in China, Australia and New Zealand was compared on the aspects of mail quarantine system, inspection, quarantine treatment and punishment, based on which something worth learning and referring could be found and some suggestions were put forward, with the aim to provide theoretical basis for the animal and plant quarantine of entry mails.展开更多

We explored the principles of management to prevent impending mortality in five patients with this condition. Five patients, two males and three females, whose median age was 64 years, had sustained stercoral perforation of the sigmoid colon. Chronic constipation was the common symptom among these patients. Three patients underwent a Hartmann's procedure and another two were treated with segmental colectomy with anastomosis and diverting colostomy. There was one surgical mortality and the other patients had an uneventful hospital stay. Timely intervention to prevent and/or treat any associated sepsis along with extensive peritoneal lavage and surgical intervention to remove diseased colonic tissue at the primary stercoral ulceration site coupled with aggressive therapy for peritonitis are key treatment modalities in salvaging patients presenting with stercoral perforation of the colon.展开更多

METHODS: Stool DNA was isolated from 45 subjects including 25 CRC patients and 20 healthy individuals using a new, fast and easy extraction method. Long DNA associated with tumor was detected using polymerase chain reaction method. Microsatellite studies were performed utilizing denaturating polyacrylamide gel to determine the instability of BAT-26. Methylation status of p16 promoter was analyzed using methylation-specific PCR (MSP). RESULTS: The results showed a significant difference in existence of long DNA (16 in patients vs 1 in controls, P 〈 0.001) and p16 (5 in patients vs none in controls, P = 0.043) in the stool samples of two groups. Long DNA was detected in 64% of CRC patients; whereas just one of the healthy individuals was positive for Long DNA. p16 methylation was found in 20% of patients and in none of healthy individuals. Instability of BATo26 was not detected in any of stool samples. CONCLUSION: We could detect colorectal cancer related genetic alterations by analyzing stool DNA with a sensitivity of 64% and 20% and a specificity of 95% and 100% for Long DNA and p16 respectively. A non- invasive molecular stool-based DNA testing can provide a screening strategy in high-risk individuals. However, additional testing on more samples is necessary from Iranian subjects to determine the exact specificity and sensitivity of these markers.展开更多

One of the latest subjects of study in the area of precision measurement is the testing of parts to follow the relative requirements, viz. design requirements for the size tolerance of size features and related geometrical tolerances of the central feature, including the envelope requirement, maximum material requirement and least material requirement. The article analyzes test methods for parts to follow the envelope requirement or maximum material requirement, as well as further requirements of geometrical tolerances for its central feature. The method is effective in improving product quality and rejecting unqualified parts.展开更多

The improved-performance K-best detection algorithm deploys minimum mean square error (MMSE) filtering of a channel matrix before QR decomposition. This algorithm can decrease the probability of excluding the optimum path and achieve better performance. The reducedcomplexity K-best detection algorithms utilize a sphere decoding method to reduce searching constellation points. Simulation results show that the improved performance K-best detection algorithm obtains a 1 dB performance gain compared to the K- best detection algorithm based on sorted QR decomposition (SQRD). Performance loss occurs when K = 4 in reduced complexity K-best detection algorithms. When K = 8, the reduced complexity K-best detection algorithms require less computational effort compared with traditional K-best detection algorithms and achieve the same performance.展开更多

METHODS: Patients with discordant results on UBT and Hp STAR underwent endoscopy with biopsies for rapid urease test, culture, and histology to confirm H pylori status. RESULTS: Among 250 patients (50±14 years), 240 (96.0%) had concordant UBT and Hp STAR tests with a significant correlation between DOB and A values (R = 0.87; P〈0.0001). The remaining 10 (4.0%) patients had discordant tests (positive Hp STAR and negative UBT) with the Hp STAR inaccurate in five cases (false positive) and UBT inaccurate in the other five cases (false negative). The “maximal expected” sensitivity, specificity, +PV, -PV, +LR, and -LR were 91%, 100%, 100%, 97.4%, ∞, and 8.2 respectively, for the UBT, and 100%, 97.4%, 91%, 100%, 38.8, and 0, respectively, for the Hp STAR. Overall accuracy for both tests was 98%. CONCLUSION: Both the UBT and the Hp StAR are equally accurate in monitoring H pylori infection. Nowadays, the choice of the “best” non-invasive H pylori test in the post-treatment setting should be done not only in terms of diagnostic accuracy but also in view of cost and local facilities.展开更多
