Arabs are rising up against the old totalitarian regimes throughout the whole region, from Tunisia to Bahrain and North Africa, covering the Persian Gulf axes. The demonstrations were triggered by the social discontent over the lack of democracy and political freedom, not to mention the corruption, the high unemployment rate among the young population, and poor living conditions for the general public. 1 fear that the Arab revolutions could turn into uncontrollable clashes, leading to further chaos and Islamic radicalization. Turkey has been emerging as an important diplomatic actor in the Arab Street. My argument is based upon the question Can Turkey be a model for the Middle East, following a century-long bumpy-ride on the road to a full democracy. Under the neo-realistic view Turkey is a secular democratic state, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member and also candidate for the EU. In this paper we try, briefly, to understand the possible role of Turkish diplomacy with the Middle East and the Great Powers within international political dimensions. 展开更多

Nicholas Poppe, Francis Cleaves, and T. Namjil wrote articles about this, and assumed the Mongolian version of Alexander Romance was translated from Central Asian countries, more likely, Persian or Arabic, did not come up with determinate conclusion, though. In this paper, the authors aim at: (1) comparing the Mongolian version of Alexander Romance with the folktales about Alexander the Great in Persian language, which two are supposed to be the nearest; (2) analyzing the story structure (quest for immortality-denying the desire; belief of living forever-the truth of one must die); and (3) explaining the background of Mongolian version of Alexander Romance, and as a result, arguing that the Mongolian version of Alexander Romance might not be a translated work; instead, it was edited and recreated in Buddhist thinking using the prevailing motif of Alexander's quest for immortality. 展开更多

Combined with the experimental results from the large tunnel of the ChongqingResearch Institute,the mechanism of gas and coal dust explosion was studied.Someconcepts about gas and coal dust explosion were introduced such as the form conditionand influential factors.Gas and coal dust explosion propagation was researched and thelifting process of coal dust was simulated.When an explosion occurred due to great mixtureof gas and air,the maximum explosion pressure appeared in the neighborhood of theexplosion source point.Before it propagated to the tunnel of the deposited coal dust,themaximum explosion pressure appeared to be in declining trend.Part of the energy waslost in the process of raising the deposited coal dust through a shock wave,so the maximumexplosion pressure was smallest on the foreside of the deposited coal dust sector.On the deposited coal dust sector,the explosion pressure rapidly increased and droppedoff after achieving the largest peak value.Because of coal dust participation in the explosion,the flame velocity rose rapidly on the deposited coal dust and achieved a basic stablevalue;coal dust was ignited to explode by initial laminar flame,and the laminar flametransformed into turbulent flame.The turbulence transformed the flame fold into a funnelshape and the shock wave interacted with the flame,so the combustion rate rose and thepressure wave was further enhanced.The regeneration mechanism between the flamecombustion rate and the aerodynamic flowing structure achieved the final critical state forforming the detonation. 展开更多
