The incidence of IBD has been increasing in recent decades, especially in developing and developed nations, and this is hypothesized to be in part related to the change in dietary and lifestyle factors associated with modernization. The prevalence of obesity has risen in parallel with the rise in IBD, suggesting a possible shared environmental link between these two conditions. Studies have shown that obesity impacts disease development and response to therapy in patients with IBD and other autoimmune conditions. The observation that adipose tissue produces pro-inflammatory adipokines provides a potential mechanism for the observed epidemiologic links between obesity and IBD, and this has developed into an active area of investigative inquiry. Additionally, emerging evidence highlights a role for the intestinal microbiota in the development of both obesity and IBD, representing another potential mechanistic connection between the two conditions. In this review we discuss the epidemiology of obesity and IBD, possible pathophysiologic links, and the clinical impact of obesity on IBD disease course and implications for management.展开更多

METHODS: Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) B8, C7, DR3, DR4, DR7, DR11, DR13, DQ2 and the B8-DR3-DQ2 phenotype were determined by microlymphocytotoxicity and polymerase chain reaction in 74 Italian patients (57 with type 1 and 17 with type 2 AIH) and 149 North American patients with type 1 AIH, and in adequate controls. RESULTS: B8-DR3-DQ2 occurred more frequently in Italian patients with type 1 AIH than in Italian controls (30% vs 7%, P<0.0001), but less frequently than in North American counterparts (30% vs 48%, P= 0.02). DR4 occurred less frequently in Italian patients with type 1 AIH (23% vs 43%, P= 0.01) and in controls (16% vs 34%, P= 0.0003) than in North American counterparts. No differences were found in alleles' frequency between type 1 and type 2 Italian AIH patients. DR11 had a frequency lower in type 1 Italian AIH patients than controls (17% vs 35%, P= 0.01). CONCLUSION: HLA DR4 is not associated with AIH in Italy. The known HLA risk factors for AIH occur similarly in Italian patients with type 1 and type 2 AIH, and they are less frequent than in North American patients. B8-DR3-DQ2 is the predominant phenotype of type 1 AIH also in Italy, and HLA DR11 may be a regionally distinctive protective factor against type 1 AIH.展开更多

People use it to define themselves but also as a vehicle that can send signs to others in the hope that their body will be a factor of social integration and social recognition. Hence we can observe the development of practices of body transformations which go along with the philosophy of the society in which everything seems possible for everybody, with no limit whatsoever. Indeed, if you want your body to be seen, you have to "produce" it before. The practice of bodybuilding sustains efforts in that direction: historically born and developed along with the consumption society, it came to embody its values. The analysis is based on qualitative methodology that is observations in three bodybuilding Gyms and 30 interviews with bodybuilders in France. The results show that bodybuilding reflects the consumption society's norms, that is a practice in which the body is in tension between imitation and distinction, hence showing the will to be "like others but in better" thanks to the production of a nice and "massive" body. Such a dimension could sometimes be dialectical, when the body becomes a source of alienation.展开更多

The purpose of this study was to simultaneously assess the physiological responses and psychological experiences during salsa dance and Zumba fitness in a community sample of physically inactive women. Methods: Twenty-four participants, aged 22-56 years, visited the laboratory to perform a graded exercise test for determination of maximal oxygen uptake and maximal heart rate. The participants then attended 2 partnered salsa dance and 2 non-partnered Zumba fitness classes each in a counterbalanced order over a 2-week period. The 1-h classes were taught by certified instructors in established venues in the Royal Borough of Kingston and the surrounding communities of London, UK. Physiological data were collected using a wrist-worn ActiGraph wGT3X+ acceler- ometer with accompanying heart rate monitor and were processed using previously validated dance-specific techniques. Psychological experiences were measured via the Subjective Exercise Experiences Scale. Results: There was a significantly higher (p 〈 0.001) total time spent in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (51.2± 3.1 vs. 32.6 ±5.9 min), total energy expenditure (411±66 vs. 210 ± 46 kcal), and total step count (6773 ± 556 vs. 4108 ±781 steps) during Zumba fitness when compared to salsa dance. Significant pre- to post-class improvements in positive well-being (p 〈 0.01, partial 7/2 = 0.4l) and psychological distress (p 〈 0.001, partial 02 = 0.72) were simultaneously observed for both salsa dance and Zumba fitness. Conclusion: The acute responses to classes of partnered Latin dance and non-partnered Latin-themed aerobic dance suggest that in physically inactive women participation is indeed efficacious in terms of community-based physical activity and psychosocial health promotion.展开更多

And we come to a conclusion through this 4-month exercise, when concerns to physical shape and physiological indicator: we can see a significant difference on WHR body mass index and vital capacity (p≤ 0.01); as well as waist circumference, pulse, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, sit and reach, grip strength (p ≤ 0.05). So we note that long-term "Health Qignng .WuQinxi" practice can improve the physical health of the university students, and assess the students who failed to meet health standards physically, and fmally realize our hope promoting the comprehensive development of university students.展开更多

A student in Shanghai Sanda University suddenly fell at tile basketball class at the end of last year. In the same month, a male student in Shanghai East China University fell on the ground when taking part in the physical test of lkm running, and then passed away after the rescue was not valid. In this paper, the physical quality of the current college students is discussed on the basis of studying college students' quality education. This study is expected to play a role in reference.展开更多

As the college counselors, in the new period, how can we implement the tasks in the college education and management? In view of this, this paper carries on the analysis in the three aspects of the positioning of the roles of the college counselors, the challenges the college counselors face in the new period, and the countermeasures to improve the status quo of education and management of the college counselors on the college students in the new era, in order to promote the development of the physical and mental health of the university students.展开更多

Over the last few years, companies have strived to gain a wide audience through advertisement to sell more and more their commodities. Women have become an essential component and a tool that advertisers use to attract the spectator's attention, especially the male viewer. Perfume ads are considered among the ads that extremely use the female body, through scenes of beauty and appeal which makes the spectator enters a world of dreams, charm, and lust. In this paper, the author aims to analyze print perfume ads from different brands, including Gucci, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Dolce and Gabana, and Dior, and their manipulation of the female body to create a sort of voyeuristic desire in the spectator's psyche and to serve their lucrative purpose.展开更多
