Based on the helix rotating screen and the digital micro-mirror device (DMD), the former proto of volumetric-swept display system is improved. The 3-D display system adopting a helix rotating screen to construct an imaging space meliorate the defects, such as the smaller image space, the fewer voxels and the severer voxel overlap dead zone caused by planar rotating screen. DMD with spatial light modular (SLM) technology increases the transmission bandwidth of 3-D data in the voxel activation subsystem and activate multi-voxel once time. The volumetric-swept system based on helix rotating screen and DMD is developed. The experimental results show that the image space, the vision dead zone, the voxels on slice, and the voxel activation capacity of the designed proto are superior to the plane rotating screen system. 展开更多

A method of restoring scratches on old paintings is proposed,and the corresponding high-accuracy output workflow is also developed.Firstly the scanner is selected as an input device to get the RGB(red,green,blue)image of the painting,and for the purpose of capturing high-quality image,scanner characterization is done by using neural network.And then the scratches on the RGB image are restored with the technology of digital inpainting,while the inpainting algorithm is mainly based on gradient vector and fast marching method.Finally the restored image is output with a printer,which is calibrated by using the high order polynomial regression method.In experiment the new replicated painting is well restored in the scratched areas,as well as keeps high resemblance with the original painting. 展开更多

Reconstruction of 3-D digital cores using a hybrid method 被引量:28

An X-ray micro CT scan is the most accurate and direct but costly method to obtain a 3-D digital core. In this study, we propose a hybrid method which combines sedimentation simulation and simulated annealing (SA) method to generate 3-D digital cores based on 2-D images of rocks. The method starts with the sedimentation simulation to build a 3-D digital core, which is the initial configuration for the SA method. We update the initial digital core using the SA method to match the auto-correlation function of the 2-D rock image and eventually build the final 3-D digital core. Compared with the typical SA method, the hybrid method has significantly reduced the computation time. Local porosity theory is applied to quantitatively compare the reconstructed 3-D digital cores with the X-ray micro CT 3-D images. The results indicate that the 3-D digital cores reconstructed by the hybrid method have homogeneity and geometric connectivity similar to those of the X-ray micro CT image. The formation factors and permeabilities of the reconstructed 3-D digital cores are estimated using the finite element method (FEM) and lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), respectively. The simulated results are in good agreement with the experimental measurements. Comparison of the simulation results suggests that the digital cores reconstructed by the hybrid method more closely reflect the true transport properties than the typical SA method alone. 展开更多

A new approach to extract phase feature of 3-D objects based on wavelength-scanning digital holography and numerical reconstruction technique is proposed in this paper.A number of holograms are recorded on a digital camera and reconstructed numerically by a computer with different wavelengths spaced at regular intervals.The theoretical analysis and computer simulations demonstrate that those pixels with the same phase of a 3-D object can focus on the same reconstruction plane.And those pixels with different phase of a 3-D object focus on the different reconstruction planes.Therefore the phase information of a 3-D object can be described by a series of reconstructed images on different planes. 展开更多

This paper presents a flexible and high speed digital scan converter (DSC) with the ability to handle high frequency ultrasound imaging in real-time. The characteristics in imaging system such as focus length of transducer, the swing radius and sampling length etc. could be changed easily in compliance with the researcher's application based on this flexible digital scan converter. Linear interpolation is employed to achieve the coordinate transformations algorithm. Custom-built software is programmed to preliminarily handle the algorithm according to different ultrasound imaging applications. High performance FPGA will implement high speed interpolation calculation based on the preliminary data which are stored in the DDR2 SDRAM from the software. 64 bit 66 MHz PCI is employed to accomplish high speed data transmission. Experiment has shown that more than 500 frame rate could be achieved based on this high speed digital scan converter. The designed flexible and high speed digital scan converter could be used in current FPGA based high frequency ultrasound imaging system. 展开更多

Several methods that intend to develop fully or semi-automated systems have been proposed. In this work we introduce a method, based on the Radon transform and optimal algorithms, which extracts automatically roads on images of rural areas, images that were acquired by digital cameras and airborne laser scanners. The proposed method detects linear segments iteratively and starting from this it generates the centerlines of the roads. The method is based on an objective function which depends on three parameters related to the correlation between the cross-sections, spectral similarity and directions of the segments. Different tests were performed using aerial photos, Ikonos images and laser scanner data of an area located in the state of Parana (Brazil) and their results are presented and discussed. The quality of the detection of the roads centerlines was computed using several indexes - completeness, correctness and RMS. The values obtained reveal the good performance of the proposed methodology. 展开更多

However, the integrity of the boundary scan test infrastructure should be tested first to guarantee the validation of the results of the rest functional test and diagnosis. This paper describes the fault models and test principles of the BS test access port (TAP) lines on PCBs.
