To enhance business ethics in the long run, educating future business professionals in colleges (i.e., college students) is one of the starting points. This paper aims to investigate students' perceptions on business ethics, such as their perceived importance of business ethics, knowledge of and interest in business ethics, their preferred method of introducing business ethics, and the perceived usefulness of learning business ethics in lessons. Focus groups will be used to collect feedback on these issues from students with different gender and seniority in colleges. This study will give insights into the students' perceptions on business ethics and suggest ways/methodology to increase the awareness of business ethics in colleges. Business professionals and educators can make reference to the findings to develop relevant materials on business ethics to their employees and students.展开更多

The introduction of e-learning in higher education in the late 1990s has opened Pandora's Box, and brought radical changes in the way where undergraduate and postgraduate programs are designed and delivered. The rapid developments and popularity ofhandheld devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs using wireless networks and mobile Intemet have marked new developments in higher education, introducing the so-called mobile leaming (m-learning). This means that university students can have access to their studies related content, anytime, anywhere in a personalized manner; this is what renders m-learning so popular and fashionable among university students globally. Nevertheless, instructors are now challenged as they have to adopt new pedagogies in learning and teaching. This paper discusses the concept of m-learning, as well as the current developments and challenges related to the major stakeholders (educators and students) in higher education.展开更多

Self and peer assessment, as one of its applications, has undergone considerable research. However, little research as such has been carried out in the ELT (English Language Teaching) context in China. This paper investigates the extent to which Chinese college students can self and peer assess their EFL (English as a Foreign Language) writing performances as accurately as the teacher does. The accuracy of assessment was measured in terms of scorer reliability between self/peer assessment of 52 first-year non-English majors and three tutors' assessment. It was found that the reliability of self and peer assessment was 0.432 and 0.202 respectively; self assessors have an overall tendency to overrate themselves while peer assessors are vice versa; specifically, both self assessors and peer assessors tend to overrate low performances and underrate high performances.展开更多
