小学生计算能力的培养探究

【摘要】传统数学强调计算，在计算教学中数学教师教学观念陈旧，教学手段单一，教师唱独角戏，完全把学生当作灌输知识的对象，上课就是做题目。面对这样的数学教学，学生对数学计算提不起兴趣。教师在教学过程中要采用各种手段以此来激发学生的学习兴趣，提升学生计算能力。

Motivation and language learning in the context of China

With the development of economic globalization and China＇s entry into the WTO, English is becoming more important than ever. In China, English is learnt as a second language and has long become the compulsory subject in school. However, many Chinese students don＇t like to learn English and even feel headache in seeing English textbooks. Why English language learning is so painful for them？ This paper focuses on the discussion of factors that affect language learning in the context of China and comes to a conclusion that motivation is the most important factor in language learning. Teachers should try every means to better initiate students＇ motivation and bring their motivation to a full range in the classroom of language.

Developing Pragmatic Competence in EFL Speaking Classes： From Theory to Practice

Fostering students＇ pragmatic competence in ESL/EFL classrooms has been the subject of a large number of studies over the last several decades. This paper will examine the importance of pragmatic competence in L2 spoken communication and investigate factors leading to pragmatic failures. It will also discuss possible ways to help foster students＇ pragmatic competence in EFL speaking classes.

Observation on Theory-practice Teaching Mode of of Taxation Practice in Higher Vocational Colleges

Integrated teaching mode of theory and practice not only can integrate the theoretical knowledge and practical jobs, combine the theory teaching and practical teaching, but also can motivate learning interest of students and cultivate the professional skill of vocational students. Therefore, based on analyzing the advantages of integrated teaching mode of theory and practice, the paper observes the integrated teaching method of theory and practice and observes the problems.

The study of the teaching mode and method of plant biology

As the specialized basic course of biological engineering, the plant biology has played a decisive role in determining the professional expertise and theoretical knowledge of students, which has also raised a higher requirement for the teaching method and mode. Based on the actual condition of course teaching of plant biology, this paper has made an analysis on the content and shortcoming of the existing mode and method as well as come up with some feasible advices about how to arouse the learning interest within the student, integrate the teaching with the practice as well as adjust the teaching sequence accordingly.

Errors Analysis in Chinese Students＇ Compositions

This paper analyzes the errors in Chinese college students＇ compositions. The study finds that among the three types of errors： interference errors, intralingual errors and developmental errors, developmental errors are the most important errors in the Chinese college students＇ writing. The results will help Chinese EFL teachers （especially college teachers） and students better judge the errors in the English writings of the Chinese students. It will also help the students avoid different kinds of errors in English writing.

A Study on the Effects of Cooperative Learning in English Reading Class in Vocational Colleges

Since the late 1990s, the study on cooperative learning has been an educational fad in linguistic circle. The previous studies have shown that cooperative learning is a good method of learning. However, very few Chinese English teachers have really or commonly tried to apply the theory of cooperative learning in English reading class. On the basis of reading some related literatures, the author combine his teaching experience and the reality of the teaching subjects to put forward the following questions：l） Whether cooperative learning helps improve students＇ reading achievements？ 2） Whether cooperative learning can inspire students＇ motivation in learning English？ 3） Whether cooperative learning can improve students＇ English reading ability？ The results of the study show that cooperative learning used in the English reading class can not only stimulate students＇ learning interests, boost the students＇ motivation, but also raise their English language proficiency and reading ability.

The Literature Criticism Approach Applied in English Teaching

Aimed at the negligence of literature side in foreign language teaching, the reduction of literary texts in foreign language teaching for non-foreign language majors, and the minimized proportion of literary criticism in the related teachers books, this paper stressed the dialectic complementary relationship between foreign language teaching and literature teaching, advances the application of the literature criticism approach with an attached analytic case study and a summary of the advantage of the approach.

Research on the autonomous cooperative teaching mode in higher Vocational colleges

The traditional teaching mode belittles practice and emphasis theory, regardless of the students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning. However, the educational objective of the higher vocational colleges is to cultivate practical talents. Therefore, the reformation and innovation of the higher vocational education teaching mode must be carried out. This research analyses the effect of autonomous cooperative teaching mode in higher vocational colleges. The reformation of teaching mode consists of the following three parts first, the autonomous cooperative teaching needs to improve the existing education system, to lay the foundation for the work of education. Secondly, to strengthen the capacity of building and promote the full implementation of the project is essential. Finally, strengthen the construction of educational resources, and enrich the connotation of the carrier. Proved by practice, the independent collaborative teaching mode can not only improve the learning atmosphere, but also improve student achievement, but also do well to students’ all-round development and enhance their comprehensive quality. It is worthwhile to promote and implement this mode in higher education institutions.

Meaning and Form

Through the analysis of the translation of words, phrases, sentences and passages, this paper discusses the problem of whether to put emphasis on the translation of the meaning or on the reservation of the forms of the original works in translation. This paper puts forward that the translation of the meaning is more important, and the meaning of the original should take the advantage when the forms and the meanings cannot be reserved at the same time. And it also says that in no way should the translator sacrifice the translation of the meaning for the sake of keeping the form, and the translator should avoid translating word for word without thinking of the translation of the meaning. This paper also discusses about the consideration of the style of the original, the target readers and the style of the writer. This paper puts forward that in translation importance should be placed on the translation of the meaning rather than keeping the form.

Exploring Some Tactics on How to Make English Lessons More Effective

This paper explores some effective tactics on the teaching of English. It starts with the introduction of the importance of learning English, then it reveals the qualities and useful strategies that a teacher of English should master if he or she wants to make his or her lessons successful. A New Way of Teaching Listening---- A Combination of Seeing, Listening and Speaking

Comprehending speaking materials in a foreign language is one of the most difficult tasks and one of the most useful skills in foreign language teaching. But for many years listening skills have not received the priority it deserves in language teaching. A traditional listening lesson often tends to test listening rather than teach it and does not practice the kind of listening that takes place in real life. This paper explores a communicative way of teaching listening--a combination of seeing, listening and speaking. The new teaching approach can inspire learners＇ interest, help learners develop a better awareness of how to listen, build up their skills and strategies in listening and prepare them to deal with the demands of real world communication. The present study attempts to measure the effectiveness of and student reaction to the new approach to teaching listening.

Reflections on the Learning of Subjunctive Mood in English Language

The Success of Learner Training in Other Subjects is Applicable to Language Learning

Increasing Literacy Through Specific Tasks Design

This study focuses on thirty-five Low-level/achieving students on General Education English which meets for two hour.,; per week, eight weeks for two consecutive semesters （totaling thirty-two hours） in the University of Technology in Taiwan. Its chief aims four-fold： First, to promote the students＇ learning motivation; second, to increase the students＇ learning interests; third, to raise their English abilities by reading theme-based/oriented topics; and, fourth, instruct them by giving guidelines to make Power-Point presentations in class. A prior or pilot survey was conducted to provide empirical opportunities to collect and explore the participants＇ views, comments, and opinions in relation to the selected research questions on this topic. The results also indicate that students can speak different/various length of words, utilize appropriate phrase to express their ideas or goals, and to speak in various/different paces, etc. Teachers couldn＇t assess the students only by their test results due to the different learning styles adopted by individual students; however, through this survey, students can be better assisted through the identification of their individual styles or habits, their individual styles or habits of learning. As regards relevant knowledge about their students＇ learning styles, teachers may consider whether and how to adjust their methods of teaching in order to better motivate them to learn English more effectively and efficiently.

A Holistic Course Design for Intercultural Business Communication Based on CLT A Case Study of a Training Program for Chinese Business Professionals

BE （Business English） has been unprecedentedly emphasized and gradually developed into an independent discipline. The paper aims to explore a holistic course design for business professionals in IBC （Intercultural Business Communication） based on CLT （Communicative Language Teaching）. The proposed course design encompasses three-dimensional contents： comprehensive language and expertise training, intercultural communicative competence cultivation, and intercultural PBL （project-based learning）. A survey is conducted in a training program of Chinese business professionals in international institutions. Three principles are identified： （1） BE teaching is need-oriented, so the pedagogical methods should be tailored to meet the international workplace requirements; （2） The linguistic and professional knowledge acquisition is achieved through communicative function of the target language; and （3） Learners＇ participation in intercultural PBL can stimulate learners＇ interest and enhance their operational capabilities. The findings of the case study indicate that a holistic course design is： （1） Course syllabus should not be formed without taking the leamers＇ expectation and feedback into consideration; （2） Teaching strategies should be innovated to enhance learners＇ communicative confidence and competence; and （3） Teaching materials should be adapted and subjected to modification according to the authentic language used in intercultural settings. The study outcomes may also shed light on other disciplines of ESP teaching.
