Several setup technologies and the corres...To implement structural hybrid simulation independent of the control system of any testing equipment in civil engineering, an external command control approach is put forward. Several setup technologies and the corresponding API approaches are investigated to simultaneously combine numerical simulation with physical testing. Hybrid program technology is put forward and described in detail, using Visual C++ program to effectively and accurately control testing equipment and MATLAB program to implement numerical simulation with easy extension. The control program of testing equipment and numerical simulation program are integrated by calling MATLAB engine in Visual C++. A hybrid simulation about a full-scale six-story masonry structure is carried out. The testing results manifest that the external command control approach has the versatility because of simple hardware connection and control program independent on control software of testing equipment; powerful program function of Visual C++ and flexible program of MATLAB are integrated by hybrid program technology; hybrid simulation system provides a realistic and cost-effective testing platform that enables earthquake engineer researchers to accurately and efficiently capture the seismic performance of large or complex structures without having to carry out physical testing of the entire structure.展开更多

Engineering quality, quality management system components, and their relationship were defined. An integrated engineering quality system was decomposed into seven factors and the quality management system was composed of eight factors. Importance weights of all factors and their relationship point were acquired by questionnaires and interviews. Then, QFD matrix was formulated and the calculating process was proposed. This model was verified on a case study. The result shows that it is useful for contractor in benchmarking themselves and invaluable for owners in the process of deciding contractor.展开更多

The main formulas in the novel algorithm are elaborated and the idiographic steps of the algorithm are given. Then the computer simulation is used to test the performance of this algorithm. Both the traditional FastlCA algorithm and the novel ICA algorithm are applied to separate mixed signal data. Experiment results show the novel method has a better performance in separating signals than the traditional FastlCA algorithm based on negentropy. The novel algorithm could estimate the source signals from the mixed signals more precisely.展开更多

For those experiments, the influence of explosive density generally was not taken into account while it was simple to have slight density differences in application. To analyze the influence of explosive density on small scale internal blast experiments, the finite element code LS-DYNA was employed and the numerical model was established. The numerical model was validated against published experimental data and the result shows a good agreement. We found that that both the peak overpressure and impulse increase with the density of charge. Empirical equations were fitted using the calculation results to evaluate the influence of explosive density on the peak overpressures and impulses.展开更多

We found that the hydroxylation can induce a magnetic moment of...The structural, electronic and magnetic properties of the hydroxylated graphitic Zinc oxide (ZnO) sheet were studied using the density functional theory. We found that the hydroxylation can induce a magnetic moment of 1.0 μB per unit cell and turn graphitic ZnO sheet from semiconductor into half metal for the three studied hydroxylated configurations with a half-metal gap up to 0.60 eV. The relative stability of each situation was also discussed and the structure for hydroxyl absorbed above the hexagonal ring of ZnO sheet was the most steady. The prominent electronic and magnetic properties may endow 2D ZnO sheet great opportunity in future spintronics.展开更多
