[Method] The constituents were isolated and purified by various chromatography methods including normal phase and reverse phase silica gel as well as Sephadex LH-20 gel column, and then elucidated by spectroscopic analysis such as MS and NMR etc. Compounds 1, 4, 5 and 6 were evaluated for their immunostimulatory activity against splenic cell of mouse by FCM. [Result] Six compounds were isolated from Euphorbia hirt, and identified as diisobutyl-O-phthalate (compond 1), diethylhexyl phthalate (compond 2), hispidulin (compond 3), acetyl peroxide (compond 4), quercetein (compond 5) and gallic acid (compond 6). All compounds were inactive against splenic cell of mouse. [Conclusion] Compounds 1, 2 and 3 were isolated from this plant for the first time, and compound 4 was the first naturally occurring compound. This study provided reference for isolating bioactive substances from Euphorbia hirta.展开更多

METHODS:Patients with gastrointestinal tumors were randomized into 3 groups. The immunonutrition group received a combination of arginine, fatty acids and nucleotides. The second and third group received normal nutrition and standard enteral nutrition, respectively.Nutrition protocols were administered for 7 d prior to the operation.Nutritional parameters,in particular prealbumin levels and lymphocyte subpopulations(CD4+,CD8+,CD16+/56+,and CD69 cells)were evaluated before and after the nutrition protocols.Groups were compared in terms of postoperative complications and duration of hospital stay. RESULTS:Of the 42 patients who completed thestudy,16 received immunonutrition,13 received normal nutrition and 13 received standard enteral nutrition. prealbumin values were low in every group, but this parameter was improved after the nutritional protocol only in the immunonutrition group(13.64±8.83 vs 15.98±8.66,P=0.037).Groups were similar in terms of CD4+,CD16+/56,and CD69+prior to the nutritional protocol;whereas CD8+was higher in the standard nutrition group compared to the immunonutrition group. After nutritional protocols, none of the groups had an increase in their lymphocyte subpopulations. Also, groups did not differ in terms of postoperative complications and postoperative durations of hospital stay. CONCLUSION:Preoperative immunonutrition provided a significant increase in prealbumin levels, while it did not significantly alter T lymphocyte subpopulation counts, the rate of postoperative complications and the duration of hospital stay.展开更多

We have previously found that RSM has neuroprotective effect on ischemia and/ or ischemia-reperfusion rats. The purpose of this study was to obtain further information on the mechanism of the RSM-in-duced neuroprotection and to examine the neuroprotective effect on neurons exposed to anoxia. The effect of RSM on anoxic damage in cultured hippocampal neurons of neonatal rat was investigated by using morphological changes and heat shock protein 70kD (HSP70) expression as indicators. RSM given 0.5h before 2h-anoxia followed by 48 hours reoxygenation could significantly increase survival rate of hippocampal neurons and number of HSP70 positive cells. The results suggest that RSM has a direct neuroprotective effects on anoxic damage in hippocampal neurons.展开更多

The etiology and immunopathogenesis of MG remain unclear. Recent research has shown the involvement of autoantibodies, lymphocytes, cytokines and chemokines, in the pathogenesis of MG. Systematic factors are also demonstrated, such as inheritance and endocrine. This review indicates the research development in immunopathogenesis of MG.展开更多

At present, fingerprinting technology has moved away from its forensic roots and is incorporating a broader scientific range, e.g., material science, spectroscopy and spectral analysis, and even in vitro diagnosis. After a brief introduction to latent fingerprints, this mini-review presents the pioneering progresses of fingerprinting technologies including(i) material and electrochemical techniques, and(ii) spectral and spectroscopy imaging techniques and immunological techniques capable of both the visualization of a fingerprint and the detection of chemicals present in it. Finally, perspectives on this rapidly developing field are discussed.展开更多
