The investigation was conducted by the method of survey and gathering information through the application of teachers' Attitudes Questionnaire to Computers derived from the instrument "Teachers' Attitudes Toward Computers" of Christensen and Knezek (1996) to the total teachers with a law degree who work at the institute. The dimensions involved in the questionnaire were: liking/utility, email, frustration/anxiety, learning/productivity, and negative impact. The results projected in the study reflected that teachers have a positive attitude (medium to favorable) with respect to computers and emails. In addition, the results showed the absence of teachers' feelings of anxiety, nervousness, or fear towards using computers.展开更多

The analysis shows that there is a...The paper presents an analysis of the selected stanzas of Siva Satakam (One Hundred Verses on Siva)--the most important hymn devoted to Siva composed in Malayalam by Narayana Guru. The analysis shows that there is a tendency in the hymn to emphasise the equal status of Sanskrit and Dravidian literary tradition. Several stanzas are constructed on the basis of Sanskrit stories or myths; however, this "classical" scheme is filled with Tamil or Malayalam concepts, ideas, and key words. What is more, Narayana Guru employs so called twilight language used by authors of Tamil philosophical works in order to provide a receiver of the poem with the opportunity to interpret some stanzas in accordance with Sanskrit as well as Dravidian tradition. The introduction of a person belonging to lower caste of South India as the one who is able to attain liberation, as well as presentation of the welt-known philosophical concepts as equal or even subordinated to the Dravidian ideas could become a significant contribution to the social activity of Guru comprising among others the concern for spiritual and social uplift of the lower caste people of Kerala.展开更多

It was carried out by Benito Mussolini, called II Duce, who governed Italy by a regime with an absolute and conservative appr...The colonization of Sicilian latifundium was an attempt of regeneration of the rural areas. It was carried out by Benito Mussolini, called II Duce, who governed Italy by a regime with an absolute and conservative approach for 20 years since 1922. According to this plan, there were some rural villages (with a school, a church, a police station and a doctor's surgery) and a number of rural homes, spread in the landscape, that formed one of the most important achievements of the agrarian reform in Italy. The author has been conducting scientific research on this topic for several years. He started with the archive "Ente per la Colonizzazione del Latifondo Siciliano" (now called Ente Sviluppo Agricolo) to review the original designs and contracts with companies, ledgers and other administrative documents. Lately, he has been reviewing the personal archives of designers involved in the building program, where he has found original drawings, letters, sketches, etc.. He has also conducted some architectonic and technical surveys of the sites. We have to consider that nowadays the mentioned rural villages are a strategic resource for the development of the neighboring areas, as it may become a network for the sustainable tourism and the promotion of the local agro food specialties. On this purpose, the local authority is going to promote some plans for the requalification of these sites. The particular achievement of this article is to show a number of possibilities for the reuse of these places.展开更多

The results of monitoring the radiation-chemical situation in the middle reach of the Yenisei River located in the nearest zone of the influence of the Mining and Chemical Combine of Rosatom have been described in the...The results of monitoring the radiation-chemical situation in the middle reach of the Yenisei River located in the nearest zone of the influence of the Mining and Chemical Combine of Rosatom have been described in the paper. Using different physico-chemical methods, it has been found that uranium and tritium content in the water exceeds the background values of the flood plain of the River Yenisei. It has been shown that a wide range of radionuclides of different genesis flows into the waters of the Yenisei River. It has been demonstrated that radionuclides are transported by the water flow in the form of molecular solution or with suspended matter. In this case, the suspended matter consists of pelitic finely dispersed mineral particles, plant and organic detritus and living biological objects (for example, worms). It has been shown that the main contribution to radionuclide and metal accumulation is made by humic substances covering the panicles of the suspended matter and actively participating in the formation of complexes with radionuclides and heavy metals. As a result of this work, the artificial radionuclide inflow into the ecosystem of the River Yenisei has been evidenced.展开更多

In order to better understand the issue, the same pair of opposites is discussed at length on the basis of Narayana's earlier Malayalam poems--devotional hymns (Siva Satakarn--"One Hundred Verses on Siva", Kah Natakam--"Dance of Kali", and Janani Nava Ratna Manjari--"Nine Gemmed Bouquet to Mother") as well as later Sanskrit philosophical work [Darsuna Mala--"Garland of Visions"). To solve the problem of increased computation and communication costs caused by using homomorphic encryption(HE) to protect all gradients in traditional cryptographic aggregation(cryptoaggregation) schemes,a fast cryp...To solve the problem of increased computation and communication costs caused by using homomorphic encryption(HE) to protect all gradients in traditional cryptographic aggregation(cryptoaggregation) schemes,a fast crypto-aggregation scheme called RandomCrypt was proposed.RandomCrypt performed clipping and quantization to fix the range of gradient values and then added two types of noise on the gradient for encryption and differential privacy(DP) protection.It conducted HE on noise keys to revise the precision loss caused by DP protection.RandomCrypt was implemented based on a FATE framework,and a hacking simulation experiment was conducted.The results show that the proposed scheme can effectively hinder inference attacks while ensuring training accuracy.It only requires 45%~51% communication cost and 5%~23% computation cost compared with traditional schemes.展开更多
