The engineering geology and hydrogeology in the southern slope of Chengmenshan copper mine are very complicated,because there is a soft-weak layer between two kinds of sandstones.Field investigations demonstrate that some instability problems might occur in the slope.In this research,the southern slope,which is divided into six sections(I-0,I-1,I-2,II-0,II-1 and II-2),is selected for slope stability analysis using limit equilibrium and numerical method.Stability results show that the values of factor of safety(FOS) of sections I-0,I-1 and I-2 are very low and slope failure is likely to happen.Therefore reinforcement subjected to seismic,water and weak layer according to sections were carried out to increase the factor of safety of the three sections,two methods were used;grouting with hydration of cement and water to increase the cohesion(c) and pre-stressed anchor.Results of reinforcement showed that factor of safety increased more than 1.15. 展开更多

The rapid technological convergence between Internet of Things (loT), Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) and cloud computing has made e-healthcare emerge as a promising application domain, which has significant potential to improve the quality of medical care. In particular, patient-centric health monitoring plays a vital role in e-healthcare service, involving a set of important operations ranging from medical data collection and aggregation, data transmission and segregation, to data analytics. This survey paper firstly presents an architectural framework to describe the entire monitoring life cycle and highlight the essential service components. More detailed discussions are then devoted to {/em data collection} at patient side, which we argue that it serves as fundamental basis in achieving robust, efficient, and secure health monitoring. Subsequently, a profound discussion of the security threats targeting eHealth monitoring systems is presented, and the major limitations of the existing solutions are analyzed and extensively discussed. Finally, a set of design challenges is identified in order to achieve high quality and secure patient-centric monitoring schemes, along with some potential solutions. 展开更多

In order to establish a rapid method for regional slope stability analysis under rainfall,matric suction and seepage force were taken into account after obtaining explicit solution of infiltration depth.Moreover,simplified analysis model under 3D condition was put forward based on identification and division of slope units,as well as modification of sliding direction of each column.The result shows that explicit solution of infiltration depth is of good precision;for the given model,safety factors without taking seepage force into account are 1.82-2.94 times higher;the stagnation point of slope angle is located approximately in the range of(45°,50°);the safety factor changes insignificantly when wetting front is deeper than 2 m;when matric suction changes in the specified range,the maximum variations of safety factor are less than 0.5,which proves that matric suction plays an insignificant role in maintaining slope stability compared to the slope angle and infiltration depth.Incorporated with geographic information system,a practical application of regional slope stability assessment verifies the applicability of the proposed method. 展开更多

A procedure for strength reduction in the ubiquitous-joint criterion is proposed to study the safety factor of slopes as well as the relationships of the bedding plane inclination angle β and the safety factor F. The results show that: 1) for the bedding rock slope, the various failure modes cause different variations of the safety factor F; 2) a bed- ding rock slope can be divided into two types by the angle between the bedding plane inclination and slope surface inclination a; when a_〈45~, the bedding slope can be strictly defined as the subsequent bedding rock slope; when 45°〈α〈90°, the bedding slope is defined as an oblique bedding slope; 3) for bedding rock slopes, the safety factor increases with an increase in a; for inverse bed- ding slopes, when the bedding plane inclination angle fl is small, the safety factor F of the slope increases at first, then decreases with an increase in a; when β is large, the safety factor F increases with an increase in α. 展开更多

It provides theory support for the application of high power intrinsically safe power supply. The released energy of output short circuit of switch power supply, and the close related factors that influence the biggest output short-circuit spark discharge energy are the theoretical basis of the power supply. It is shown how to make a high power intrinsically safe power supply using the calculated values in the mathematical model, and take values from intrinsically safe requirements parameters scope, then this theoretical calculation value can be developed as the ultimate basis for research of the power supply. Objective: To explore the effect of PDCA-cycle in improving time-out compliance rate and improvement in quality and safety management of surgery. Methods: We improved time-out compliance rate by using PDCA-cycle (a quality improvement tools). Data were collected before and after the implementation of PDCA-cycle. The results were analyzed. Results: After implementation of PDCA-cycle, over all time-out compliance rate was increased from 80% to 99.8% (P=0.000). The compliance rate of identifying patient, performing site marking before surgery, verification of correct-site and correct procedure were increased from 85.1%, 79.2%, 89.7% and 89.1% to 99.8%, 99.9%, 100% and 100% (P〈0.05) respectively. Conclusion: Our study validated the PDCA-cycle methodology improves time-out compliance rate, and it is one of the most effective quality improvement tools for hospital management. 展开更多

Manufacturers of chemicals are responsible for setting up a list of tools, including labels and safety data sheets, in order to provide adequate information about dangerous properties being labels and safety data sheets the main instruments for the immediate advice about dangerous substances and preparations for general public and workers. While correct labelling gives the possibility to general public to recognise the risks arising from handling and use of dangerous chemicals, safety data sheets are provided for professionals in order to allow safe handling and storage of dangerous chemicals in work places. Information contained in safety data sheets are also designed to suggest safety measures to be taken for the protection of workers as well as precaution measures and adequate actions to be taken in the case of accident. This project has critically revised the information contained in a list of safety data sheets of active ingredients provided for plant protection products, in order to assess the quality and the consistency of the data contained. Reported data have been then compared to published data. Considerable deficiencies/mistakes/inconsistencies have been found in the data reported along the safety data sheets of the examined substances, showing an urgent need of improving the enforcement related to a systematic recognition in this field as well as training of people involved in compilation of safety data sheets by producer side. 展开更多

A Statistical Mechanical Equation of State for Fluid UF4 and ThF4

Uranium tetrafluoride, UF4, and thorium tetrafluoride, ThF4, can be used as fuels in molten salt reactors. For the molten salt reactor design and safety analysis, it is essential to know the thermodynamic properties of the UF4 and ThF4 materials. However, the experimental data for UF4 and ThF4 P-V-T are scarce in literature. Under this circumstance prediction of the thermodynamic properties can be supported by theoretical calculations to remedy missing experimental data. Within this paper the Song, Mason and lhm's equation of state with modification of Tao and Mason, originally derived for spherical and molecular fluids, is applied for fluid UF4 and ThF4 based on the available experimental data. The equation of state is based on statistical mechanical perturbation theory with the perturbation scheme of Weeks, Chandler, and Andresen. The prediction of constants applied in the equation of state is based on the work of Boushehri et al. using data for heat of vaporization and liquid density at the triple point. The calculation of the heat of vaporization applies the "sigma" method reported by Darken et al. with the vapour pressure data and heat capacities of liquid and vapour of UF4 and ThF4. Finally an extra correction term for the vapour pressure is introduced into the new equation of state. The results show that this equation of state agrees reasonably well with the available experimental data. It can be expected that this equation of state can be applied also for conditions where experimental data are currently missing. 展开更多
