The adsorptive properties of UiO-66 towards organic dyes: A record adsorption capacity for the anionic dye Alizarin Red S. 被引量:10

In order to decisively determine the adsorption selectivity of zirconium MOF(UiO-66) towards anionic versus cationic species, the adsorptive removal of the anionic dyes(Alizarin Red S.(ARS), Eosin(E), Fuchsin Acid(FA)and Methyl Orange(MO)) and the cationic dyes(Neutral Red(NR), Fuchsin Basic(FB), Methylene Blue(MB),and Safranine T(ST)) has been evaluated. The results clearly reveal a significant selectivity towards anionic dyes. Such an observation agrees with a plethora of reports of UiO-66 superior affinity towards other anionic species(Floride, PO_4^(3-), Diclofenac sodium, Methylchlorophenoxy-propionic acid, Phenols, CrO_4^(2-), SeO_3^(2-), and AsO_4^-). The adsorption process of ARS as an example has been optimized using the central composite design(CCD). The resultant statistical model indicates a crucial effect of both pH and sorbent mass. The optimum conditions were determined to be initial dye concentration 11.82 mg.L^(-1), adsorbent amount 0.0248 g, shaking time of 36 min and pH 2. The adsorption process proceeds via pseudo-second order kinetics(R^2= 0.999). The equilibrium data were fit to Langmuir and Tempkin models(R^2= 0.999 and 0.997 respectively). The results reveal an exceptional removal for the anionic dye(Alizarin Red S.) with a record adsorption capacity of400 mg·g^(-1). The significantly high adsorption capacity of UiO-66 towards ARS adds further evidence to the recently reported exceptional performance of MOFs in pollutants removal from water. 展开更多

Septoria carvi belong to the fungi recently detected on caraway plants in the Polish climatic conditions. In many European countries, this fungus causes significant losses in caraway cultivation and decreases the quality and quantity of the herb material. The aim of the present work was to study the fungus harmfulness towards the sowing materials, stems, leaves and umbels of caraway. The pathogenicity tests according to Koch's postulates were carried out for isolates ofS. carvi using post-culture liquids and a water suspension of conidia to inoculate the plants' parts. The studies were conducted in the laboratory, the climatic chamber and in field conditions. S. carvi caused disease symptoms in the form of spots and necrosis on all tested plants organs. The infection was followed by natural openings what was shown by scanning electron microscope (SEM) microscopic observations. The efficiency of inoculation increased injuries and anatomical dipping of plant epidermal tissue. The study showed the ability for asymptomatic S. carvi colonization of inoculated plants' parts. The performed pathogenicity tests and microscopic observations SEM showed that the tested isolates of S. carvi were occasional pathogens of caraway. 展开更多

Halogenation is a very efficient chemical modification method to tune the molecular energy levels, absorption spectra and molecular packing of organic semiconductors. Recently, in the field of organic solar cells(OSCs), both fluorine-and chlorinesubstituted photovoltaic materials, including donors and acceptors, demonstrated their great potentials in achieving high power conversion efficiencies(PCEs), raising a question that how to make a decision between fluorination and chlorination when designing materials. Herein, we systemically studied the impact of fluorination and chlorination on the properties of resulting donors(PBDB-T-2 F and PBDB-T-2 Cl) and acceptors(IT-4 F and IT-4 Cl). The results suggest that all the OSCs based on different donor and acceptor combinations can deliver good PCEs around 13%–14%. Chlorination is more effective than fluorination in downshifting the molecular energy levels and broadening the absorption spectra. The influence of chlorination and fluorination on the crystallinity of the resulting materials is dependent on their introduction positions. As chlorination has the advantage of easy synthesis, it is more attractive in designing low-cost photovoltaic materials and therefore may have more potential in largescale applications. 展开更多

Double carbon coated Fe P composite(Fe P@NC@r GO)was in situ fabricated via the phosphorization process of the as-prepared Prussian blue@graphene oxide(PB@GO)precursor.The Fe P nanocrystals were successfully embedded in the nitrogen-doped porous carbon matrix.When used as the anode for lithium ion batteries(LIBs),the Fe P@NC@r GO anode shows superior lithium storage properties,delivering a high specific capacity of 830 m A h g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 100 m A g^(-1)and excellent rate capability of 359 m A h g^(-1)at 5 A g^(-1).The outstanding performance mainly ascribes to the synergistic effect of the double carbon coating and porous structure design.The introduction of porous carbon and graphene coating on Fe P nanoparticles greatly enhance the electronic conductivity of the active material and well accommodates the large volume variation of Fe P during the cycling process. 展开更多

A new acceptor-donor-acceptor(A-D-A) type small-molecule acceptor NCBDT-4 Cl using chlorinated end groups is reported.This new-designed molecule demonstrates wide and efficient absorption ability in the range of 600–900 nm with a narrow optical bandgap of 1.40 eV. The device based on PBDB-T-SF:NCBDT-4 Cl shows a power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 13.1%without any post-treatment, which represents the best result for all as-cast organic solar cells(OSCs) to date. After device optimizations, the PCE was further enhanced to over 14% with a high short-circuit current density(Jsc) of 22.35 m A cm-2 and a fill-factor(FF) of 74.3%. The improved performance was attributed to the more efficient photo-electron conversion process in the optimal device. To our knowledge, this outstanding efficiency of 14.1% with an energy loss as low as 0.55 eV is among the best results for all single-junction OSCs. 展开更多

Short-axis substitution, as an effective way to change the optical and electronic properties of the organic semiconductors for organic photovoltaics(OPVs), is a readily approach to modify non-fullerene acceptors, especially for the linear fused rings system. Here, two new fused-ring electron acceptors(CBT-IC and SBT-IC) were designed and developed by short-axis modification based on the dithienyl[1,2-b:4,5-b′]benzodithiophene(BDCPDT) system. Combined with a medium bandgap polymer donor J71, both of the OPV devices exhibit high power conversion efficiency(PCE) over 11%, and ~70% external quantum efficiencies. To better understand how this kind of substitution affects the BDCPDT based acceptors, a comparative analysis is also made with the the plain acceptor BDT-IC without this modification. We believe this work could disclose the great potential and the versatility of BDCPDT block and also enlighten other ladder-type series for further optimization. 展开更多

There has been an increasing demand for high-performance and cost-effective organic electron-transport materials for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). In this contribution, we present a simple compound 3-(3-(4,6-diphenyl-l,3,5-triazin-2-yl)phenyl)-1,10-phenanthroline through the facile Pd-catalyzed coupling of a triphenyltriazine boronic ester with 3-hromo-1,10-phenanthroline. It shows a high Tg of 112℃. The ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy measurements reveal a deep HOMO level of -6.5 eV. The LUMO level is derived as -3.0 eV, based on the optical bandgap. The low-temperature solid-state phosphorescent spectrum gives a triplet energy of -2.36eV. n-Doping with 8-hydroxyquinolatolithium (Liq, 1:1) leads to considerably improved electron mobility of 5.2 × 10 -6 -5.8 × 10 -5 cm2 v-1 S-1 at E=(2-5) × 10 5Vcm -1, in contrast with the triarylphosphine oxide- phenantroline molecular conjugate we reported previously. It has been shown that through optimizing the device structure and hence suppressing polaron-exciton annihilation, introducing this single Liq-doped electron-transport layer could offer high-efficiency and stable phosphorescent OLEDs. 展开更多
