In doing this, a field test on horizontal and vertical positional errors of GPS positioning at different points in the forested area of Taxiarchis-Vrastama University forest was conducted. The two GPS receivers were used to determine the positional accuracy of a selected number of points under tree canopies. Specifically, the precision and accuracy of Garmin's GPS positioning at different points were calculated and compared with the corresponding positioning and accuracy of another GPS system, namely the TOPCON GPS. By the calculation of various measures of accuracy and precision suitable for GPS receivers and the use of statistical methods, accuracy between the different receivers differed significantly is shown. Also, regression analysis revealed that the basal area and the number of available satellites are the most important factors for predicting position error.展开更多

In this case, the receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) method earmot exclude faulty satellite. In order to improve the performance of RAIM method and obtain the reliable positioning results with five satellites, the series of receiver clock bias (RCB) is regarded as one useful satellite and used to aid RAIM method. From the point of nonlinear series, a grey-Markov model for predicting the RCB series based on grey theory and Markov chain is presented. And then the model is used for aiding RAIM method in order to exclude faulty satellite. Experimental results demonstrate that the prediction model is fit for predicting the RCB series, and with the clock-based RAIM method the faulty satellite can be correctly excluded and the positioning precision of GPS receiver can be improved for the case where there are only five useful satellites.展开更多

GPS receiver on smartphones has been developed for location-based applications. Smartphones are very suitable to be used as an experimental tool, because smartphones are usually equipped with various types of sensors. This paper proposes a model observation vehicle speed on a road section based on the GPS data on the smartphone. Observations made by calculating the speed of the speed of vehicles moving through the data transfer at the GPS location of the smartphone, the data are then sent periodically to the server and server processing and storage of vehicle speed data. After tested with test reliability indicators use RMSE, observations with model observations speed, speed based on GPS data on a smartphone are relevant when compared with the speed directly from the vehicle's speedometer with the difference between the value of the difference of speed that is 3.1785 km/h.展开更多
