The boundary identification and quantitative thickness prediction of channel sand bodies are always difficult in seismic exploration.We present a new method for boundary identification and quantitative thickness predi...The boundary identification and quantitative thickness prediction of channel sand bodies are always difficult in seismic exploration.We present a new method for boundary identification and quantitative thickness prediction of channel sand bodies based on seismic peak attributes in the frequency domain.Using seismic forward modeling of a typical thin channel sand body,a new seismic attribute-the ratio of peak frequency to amplitude was constructed.Theoretical study demonstrated that seismic peak frequency is sensitive to the thickness of the channel sand bodies,while the amplitude attribute is sensitive to the strata lithology.The ratio of the two attributes can highlight the boundaries of the channel sand body.Moreover,the thickness of the thin channel sand bodies can be determined using the relationship between seismic peak frequency and thin layer thickness.Practical applications have demonstrated that the seismic peak frequency attribute can depict the horizontal distribution characteristics of channels very well.The ratio of peak frequency to amplitude attribute can improve the identification ability of channel sand body boundaries.Quantitative prediction and boundary identification of channel sand bodies with seismic peak attributes in the frequency domain are feasible.展开更多

A large scale test on the task of 11 mandarin digits recognition shows that the WER(word error rate) can reach 3 86%. A novel and efficient iris automatic location method is presented in this study. It includes following two steps mainly: pu- pil location and iris outer boundary location. A digital eye image was divided into many small rectangular blocks with fixed size in the pupil location, and the block with the smallest average intensity was selected as a reference area. Then image binarization was implemented taking the average intensity of the reference area as a threshold. At last the center coordinates and radius of pupil were estimated by extending the reference area to the pupil's boundaries in the binary iris image. In the iris outer location, two local parts of the eye image were selected and transformed into polar coordinates from Cartesian reference. In order to detect the fainter outer boundary of the iris quickly, a novel edge detector was used to locate boundaries of the two parts. The center coordinates and radius of the iris outer boundary can be estimated using the fusion of the locating results of the two local parts and the location information of the pupil. The algorithm was tested on CASIA vl.0 and MMU vl.0 digital eye image databases and experimental results show that the proposed method has satisfying performance and good robustness.展开更多
Most relatively high-level radioactive sandstone(HRSS)reservoir has considerable oil(or gas)resource potential.HRSS is often wrongly identified due to its similar logging response characteristics as mudstone,which lea...Most relatively high-level radioactive sandstone(HRSS)reservoir has considerable oil(or gas)resource potential.HRSS is often wrongly identified due to its similar logging response characteristics as mudstone,which leads to the omission of effective reservoirs.In this paper,a quantitative identification method for HRSS is proposed after the analyzing of the response characteristics and relationship between spontaneous potential log and natural gamma-ray log in conventional sandstone and mudstone strata.Take the Upper Triassic Yanchang Formation in Ordos Basin as an example:the responses of spontaneous potential log and the responses of natural gamma-ray log are synchronized and positively correlated in conventional sandstone and mudstone strata,but they are not synchronized in HRSS.Quantitative identification of HRSS was realized based on this synchronization feature,and a"virtual compensation"of natural gamma-ray log was performed.At the same time,logging evaluation method about HRSS has been discussed.The final results shows that this identification method work effectively,and can reduce the misjudgment and omission of effective reservoirs.展开更多

Aimed at improving the routing efficiency, the super proximity routing algorithms presented in this paper combine Internet topology and overlay routing table in choosing the next hop. Seismic facies and attributes analysis techniques are introduced.The geological characteristics of some oil fields in western China are used in conjunction with drilling results and logging data to identify the lithol...Seismic facies and attributes analysis techniques are introduced.The geological characteristics of some oil fields in western China are used in conjunction with drilling results and logging data to identify the lithology,intrusion periods,and distribution range of the Permian igneous rocks in this area.The lithologic classification,the vertical and horizontal distribution,and the intrusion periods of igneous rock were deduced through this study.Combining seismic facies and attributes analysis based on optimization can describe the igneous rock in detail.This is an efficient way to identify lithology and intrusion periods.Using geological data and GR-DT logging cross-plots the Permian igneous rock from TP to TT was divided into three periods.The lithology of the first period is tuff and clasolite with a thickness ranging from 18 to 80 ms.The second is basalt with a thickness ranging from 0 to 20 ms.The third is tuff and clasolite and dacite whose thickness ranges from 60 to 80 ms.These results can help understand the clasolite trap with low amplitude and the lithologic trap of the Carboniferous and Silurian.They can also guide further oil and/or gas exploration.展开更多
In order to improve the precision of soil organic carbon (SOC) estimates, the sources of uncertainty in soil organic carbon density (SOCD) estimates and SOC stocks were examined using 363 soil profiles in Hebei Provin...In order to improve the precision of soil organic carbon (SOC) estimates, the sources of uncertainty in soil organic carbon density (SOCD) estimates and SOC stocks were examined using 363 soil profiles in Hebei Province, China, with three methods: the soil profile statistics (SPS), GIS-based soil type (GST), and kriging interpolation (KI). The GST method, utilizing both pedological professional knowledge and GIS technology, was considered the most accurate method of the three estimations, with SOCD estimates for SPS 10% lower and KI 10% higher. The SOCD range for GST was 84% wider than KI as KI smoothing effect narrowed the SOCD range. Nevertheless, the coefficient of variation for SOCD with KI (41.7%) was less than GST and SPS. Comparing SOCD’s lower estimates for SPS versus GST, the major sources of uncertainty were the conflicting area of proportional relations. Meanwhile, the fewer number of soil profiles and the necessity of using the smoothing effect with KI were its sources of uncertainty. Moreover, for local detailed variations of SOCD, GST was more advantageous in reflecting the distribution pattern than KI.展开更多

Traditional Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technologies are ver...Indoor localization is very critical for medical care applications, e.g., the patient localization or tracking inside the building of the hospital. Traditional Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technologies are very popular in this area since their cost is very low. In such technologies, each tag acts as the transmitter and the Radio Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI) information is measured from the readers. However, RSSI information suffers severely from the multi- path phenomenon. As a result, if in a very large area, the localization accuracy will be affected seriously. In order to solve this problem, we introduce Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) with only a few nodes, each of which acts as both transmitter and receiver. In such networks, the change of signal strength(referred as dynamic of RSSI) is leveraged to select a cluster of reference tags as candidates. Then the fi nal target location is estimated by using the RSSI relationships between the target tag and candidate reference tags. Thus, the localization accuracy and scalability are able to be improved. We proposed two algorithms, SA-LANDMARC, and COCKTAIL. Experiments show that the localization accuracy of the two algorithms can reach 0.7m and 0.45 m, respectively. Compared to most traditional Radio Frequency(RF)-based approaches, the localization accuracy is improved at least 50%.展开更多
This paper focuses on a direct quantitative identification of crisis periods in selected emerging stock markets from four continent-based regions of Europe, Latin America, East Asia, and Middle East and North Africa ...This paper focuses on a direct quantitative identification of crisis periods in selected emerging stock markets from four continent-based regions of Europe, Latin America, East Asia, and Middle East and North Africa (MENA), in the context of an influence of the 2007 U.S. subprime financial crisis. The 17 emerging stock markets and, for comparison, the U.S. stock market are investigated. A statistical method of dividing market states into bullish and bearish markets, based on monthly logarithmic returns of major stock market indexes, is employed. The analyzed sample period begins in January 2003 and ends in December 2013. As there is no unanimity in the literature about the crisis periods in the continent-based regions, a formal statistical identification of crises is worthwhile to conduct. Furthermore, the effect of increasing cross-market correlations in the crisis compared to the pre-crisis period in the context of contagion is examining. To address this issue, both standard contemporaneous cross-correlations and volatility-adjusted cross-correlations are applied. The results are consistent with the literature and confn'm that tests for contagion based on cross-market correlations are problematic due to the bias introduced by changing volatility in market returns. As contagion can be confused with globalization, the globalization tests in the group of international investigated markets are employed. The results generally do not confirm a global world market integration effect, i.e. there is no reason to reject the research hypothesis of no globalization during the 2007-2009 financial crisis.展开更多
With the objective of establishing the necessary conditions for 3-D seismic data from a Permian plutonic oilfield in western China, we compared the technology of several multi-parameter seismic inversion methods in id...With the objective of establishing the necessary conditions for 3-D seismic data from a Permian plutonic oilfield in western China, we compared the technology of several multi-parameter seismic inversion methods in identifying igneous rocks. The most often used inversion methods are Constrained Sparse Spike Inversion (CSSI), Artificial Neural Network Inversion (ANN) and GR Pseudo-impedance Inversion. Through the application of a variety of inversion methods with log curves correction, we obtained relatively high-resolution impedance and velocity sections, effectively identifying the lithology of Permian igneous rocks and inferred lateral variation in the lithology of igneous rocks. By means of a comprehensive comparative study, we arrived at the following conclusions: the CSSI inversion has good waveform continuity, and the ANN inversion has lower resolution than the CSSI inversion. The inversion results show that multi-parameter seismic inversion methods are an effective solution to the identification of igneous rocks.展开更多

FPTM was synthesized from state-tied HMMs by a modified fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm. Each Gaussian codebook of FPTM was built from Gaussian components within the same root node in phonetic decision tree. The experimental results on large vocabulary Mandarin speech recognition show that compared with conventional phonetic tied-mixture HMM and state-tied HMM with approximately the same number of Gaussian mixtures, FPTM achieves word error rate reductions by 4.84% and 13.02% respectively. Combining the two schemes of mixing weights pruning and Gaussian centers fuzzy merging, a significantly parameter size reduction was achieved with little impact on recognition accuracy.展开更多

A lot of work has been done when all variables are in a known directed acyclic graph(DAG). However, steady directed cyclic graphs(DCGs) may be involved when we simply combine modules containing local data together, where a module is composed of a child variable and its parent variables. So far, the physical and statistical meaning of steady DCGs remain unclear and unsolved. This paper illustrates the physical and statistical meaning of steady DCGs, and presents a method to calculate the JPD with local data, given that all variables are in a known single-valued Dynamic Uncertain Causality Graph(S-DUCG), and thus defines a new Bayesian Network with steady DCGs. The so-called single-valued means that only the causes of the true state of a variable are specified, while the false state is the complement of the true state.展开更多

A new methodology was proposed for contamination source identification using information provided by consumer complaints from a probabilistic view.Due to the high uncertainties of information derived from users,the ob...A new methodology was proposed for contamination source identification using information provided by consumer complaints from a probabilistic view.Due to the high uncertainties of information derived from users,the objective of the proposed methodology doesn't aim to capture a unique solution,but to minimize the number of possible contamination sources.In the proposed methodology,all the possible pollution nodes are identified through the CSA methodology firstly.And then based on the principle of total probability formula,the probability of each possible contamination node is obtained through a series of calculation.According to magnitude of the probability,the number of possible pollution nodes is minimized.The effectiveness and feasibility of the methodology is demonstrated through an application to a real case of ZJ City.Four scenarios were designed to investigate the influence of different uncertainties on the results in this case.The results show that pollutant concentration,injection duration,the number of consumer complaints nodes used for calculation and the prior probability with which consumers would complaint have no particular effect on the identification of contamination source.Three nodes were selected as the most possible pollution sources in water pipe network of ZJ City which includes more than 3 000 nodes.The results show the potential of the proposed method to identify contamination source through consumer complaints.展开更多

Radio frequency identification(RFID) has been widely used in warehouse for item identifying. Meanwhile, RFID technology also has great potential for pallets localization which is underutilized in warehouse management. RFID-based checking-in and inventory systems have been applied in warehouse management by many enterprises. Localization approach is studied, which is compatible with existing RFID checking-in and inventory systems. A novel RFID localization approach is proposed for pallets checking-in. Phase variation of nearby tags was utilized to estimate the position of added pallets. A novel inventory localization approach combing angle of arrival(AOA) measurement and received signal strength(RSS) is also proposed for pallets inventory. Experiments were carried out using standard UHF passive RFID system. Experimental results show an acceptable localization accuracy which can satisfy the requirement of warehouse management.展开更多

The SOCD range for GST was 84% wider than KI as KI smoothing effect narrowed the SOCD range. Nevertheless, the coefficient of variation for SOCD with KI (41.7%) was less than GST and SPS. Comparing SOCD’s lower estimates for SPS versus GST, the major sources of uncertainty were the conflicting area of proportional relations. Meanwhile, the fewer number of soil profiles and the necessity of using the smoothing effect with KI were its sources of uncertainty. Moreover, for local detailed variations of SOCD, GST was more advantageous in reflecting the distribution pattern than KI.

文摘Indoor localization is very critical for medical care applications, e.g., the patient localization or tracking inside the building of the hospital. Traditional Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technologies are very popular in this area since their cost is very low. In such technologies, each tag acts as the transmitter and the Radio Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI) information is measured from the readers. However, RSSI information suffers severely from the multi- path phenomenon. As a result, if in a very large area, the localization accuracy will be affected seriously. In order to solve this problem, we introduce Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) with only a few nodes, each of which acts as both transmitter and receiver. In such networks, the change of signal strength(referred as dynamic of RSSI) is leveraged to select a cluster of reference tags as candidates. Then the fi nal target location is estimated by using the RSSI relationships between the target tag and candidate reference tags. Thus, the localization accuracy and scalability are able to be improved. We proposed two algorithms, SA-LANDMARC, and COCKTAIL. Experiments show that the localization accuracy of the two algorithms can reach 0.7m and 0.45 m, respectively. Compared to most traditional Radio Frequency(RF)-based approaches, the localization accuracy is improved at least 50%.
文摘This paper focuses on a direct quantitative identification of crisis periods in selected emerging stock markets from four continent-based regions of Europe, Latin America, East Asia, and Middle East and North Africa (MENA), in the context of an influence of the 2007 U.S. subprime financial crisis. The 17 emerging stock markets and, for comparison, the U.S. stock market are investigated. A statistical method of dividing market states into bullish and bearish markets, based on monthly logarithmic returns of major stock market indexes, is employed. The analyzed sample period begins in January 2003 and ends in December 2013. As there is no unanimity in the literature about the crisis periods in the continent-based regions, a formal statistical identification of crises is worthwhile to conduct. Furthermore, the effect of increasing cross-market correlations in the crisis compared to the pre-crisis period in the context of contagion is examining. To address this issue, both standard contemporaneous cross-correlations and volatility-adjusted cross-correlations are applied. The results are consistent with the literature and confn'm that tests for contagion based on cross-market correlations are problematic due to the bias introduced by changing volatility in market returns. As contagion can be confused with globalization, the globalization tests in the group of international investigated markets are employed. The results generally do not confirm a global world market integration effect, i.e. there is no reason to reject the research hypothesis of no globalization during the 2007-2009 financial crisis.
文摘With the objective of establishing the necessary conditions for 3-D seismic data from a Permian plutonic oilfield in western China, we compared the technology of several multi-parameter seismic inversion methods in identifying igneous rocks. The most often used inversion methods are Constrained Sparse Spike Inversion (CSSI), Artificial Neural Network Inversion (ANN) and GR Pseudo-impedance Inversion. Through the application of a variety of inversion methods with log curves correction, we obtained relatively high-resolution impedance and velocity sections, effectively identifying the lithology of Permian igneous rocks and inferred lateral variation in the lithology of igneous rocks. By means of a comprehensive comparative study, we arrived at the following conclusions: the CSSI inversion has good waveform continuity, and the ANN inversion has lower resolution than the CSSI inversion. The inversion results show that multi-parameter seismic inversion methods are an effective solution to the identification of igneous rocks.
文摘The paper focuses on location of seal imprints on Chinese bank-checks based on region growing.Region growing method can be applied to searching and locating connection region in an image.A seal imprint,however,is generally composed of various connection regions which are unconnected to each other.In order to locate the seal imprint,these connection regions must be fused together.In the paper,an algorithm for locating seal imprints on Chinese bankchecks based on region growing is proposed, of which a fusion criterion for connection regions in a seal imprint is put forth based on the image feature of Chinese bankcheck,and a center-rays model is proposed to find the topological relationship between connection regions,for which externally-tangent rectangle of region is used as the mark of location of region.The location experiment is achieved with a false-acceptance rate of 7.1% and a false-rejection rate of 0% on Chinese bankcheck.

文摘A fuzzy clustering analysis based phonetic tied-mixture HMM(FPTM) was presented to decrease parameter size and improve robustness of parameter training. FPTM was synthesized from state-tied HMMs by a modified fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm. Each Gaussian codebook of FPTM was built from Gaussian components within the same root node in phonetic decision tree. The experimental results on large vocabulary Mandarin speech recognition show that compared with conventional phonetic tied-mixture HMM and state-tied HMM with approximately the same number of Gaussian mixtures, FPTM achieves word error rate reductions by 4.84% and 13.02% respectively. Combining the two schemes of mixing weights pruning and Gaussian centers fuzzy merging, a significantly parameter size reduction was achieved with little impact on recognition accuracy.

文摘It is desired to obtain the joint probability distribution(JPD) over a set of random variables with local data, so as to avoid the hard work to collect statistical data in the scale of all variables. A lot of work has been done when all variables are in a known directed acyclic graph(DAG). However, steady directed cyclic graphs(DCGs) may be involved when we simply combine modules containing local data together, where a module is composed of a child variable and its parent variables. So far, the physical and statistical meaning of steady DCGs remain unclear and unsolved. This paper illustrates the physical and statistical meaning of steady DCGs, and presents a method to calculate the JPD with local data, given that all variables are in a known single-valued Dynamic Uncertain Causality Graph(S-DUCG), and thus defines a new Bayesian Network with steady DCGs. The so-called single-valued means that only the causes of the true state of a variable are specified, while the false state is the complement of the true state.
文摘We propose using the concept of decisive moment in order to deconstruct the obvious ideological effects found in discourse. The subject is constituted in enunciation, and its polysemic discourse clashes with the transparency of meaning. According to Pêcheux (1988), the contradictions in discourse simultaneously establish regularity and instability of meanings, leading it to misunderstanding, to the event. Photography destabilizes that which is already formulated and brings out that which is new, the unexpected meaning, the decisive moment. 文摘A new methodology was proposed for contamination source identification using information provided by consumer complaints from a probabilistic view.Due to the high uncertainties of information derived from users,the objective of the proposed methodology doesn't aim to capture a unique solution,but to minimize the number of possible contamination sources.In the proposed methodology,all the possible pollution nodes are identified through the CSA methodology firstly.And then based on the principle of total probability formula,the probability of each possible contamination node is obtained through a series of calculation.According to magnitude of the probability,the number of possible pollution nodes is minimized.The effectiveness and feasibility of the methodology is demonstrated through an application to a real case of ZJ City.Four scenarios were designed to investigate the influence of different uncertainties on the results in this case.The results show that pollutant concentration,injection duration,the number of consumer complaints nodes used for calculation and the prior probability with which consumers would complaint have no particular effect on the identification of contamination source.Three nodes were selected as the most possible pollution sources in water pipe network of ZJ City which includes more than 3 000 nodes.The results show the potential of the proposed method to identify contamination source through consumer complaints.

文摘Warehouse operation has become a critical activity in supply chain. Position information of pallets is important in warehouse management which can enhance the efficiency of pallets picking and sortation. Radio frequency identification(RFID) has been widely used in warehouse for item identifying. Meanwhile, RFID technology also has great potential for pallets localization which is underutilized in warehouse management. RFID-based checking-in and inventory systems have been applied in warehouse management by many enterprises. Localization approach is studied, which is compatible with existing RFID checking-in and inventory systems. A novel RFID localization approach is proposed for pallets checking-in. Phase variation of nearby tags was utilized to estimate the position of added pallets. A novel inventory localization approach combing angle of arrival(AOA) measurement and received signal strength(RSS) is also proposed for pallets inventory. Experiments were carried out using standard UHF passive RFID system. Experimental results show an acceptable localization accuracy which can satisfy the requirement of warehouse management.

By employing these concepts, the cardinal order theorem of the attribute disturbance knowledge, the unit circle theorem of the attribute disturbance knowledge, and the discernible theorem of the attribute disturbance knowledge are presented.
