The FSFANC aims at the multi-tonal noise attenuation problem. One FSFANC system copes with one of the tonal components, and several FSFANC systems can run independently in paralld to cancel the selected multiple tones. The proposed algorithm adopts a simple structure with only two coefficients that can be explained as the real and imaginary parts of the structure to model the secondary path, and estimates the secondary path by injecting sinusoidal identification signals. Theoretical analysis and laboratory experiments show that the proposed algorithm possesses stone advantages, such as simpler structure, less computational burden, greater stability, and fast converging speed.展开更多

Measurements were carried out at Volvo aerodynamical wind tunnel on a Volvo XC60 production model. The configurations considered here are: side mirror On/Off with the cowl cavity open/closed. The results of exterior sound source mapping (with the intensity probe placed in the flow stream) have been compared with the results of the measurements inside the car. The contribution of the cowl area to overall wind noise level is measured in terms of AI% (Articulation Index) inside the compartment. It was shown that increase in AI by 2% could be attributed to the cowl generated wind noise. Transient numerical simulations of the turbulent flow around the car have been performed for all configurations. The results of the simulations show similarity to experimental results and give insight to the flow structures around the car.展开更多

Different traffic noise spectra were registered and reproduced, simulating the outdoor traffic conditions through different windows. Spectrum adaptation terms for the recorded spectra were different from the ones obtained from the Standards, showing that Normative gives a safe evaluation of the Weighted Sound Insulation Index. In field measurements, the level abatements calculated from the Facade Acoustic Insulation Index corrected with the adaptation terms shows that the ones from the Standard do not give a good approximation, while if the level abatements is calculated using the adaptation terms from the registered spectra, a more reliable approximation is achieved. Furthermore, comparing the level abatements for two windows having both Rw equal to 41 dB, very different values were obtained at different frequencies; therefore to characterize acoustic performances of windows, sound insulation curves are also needed. The correlation between the mean difference between adaptation terms calculated from the standard and the one between abatements obtained with pink noise and the ones obtained with the registered spectra is good, but different for road traffic and trains. In both, the difference diminishes when the difference between the abatements increases.展开更多

The noise data is divided into fiveminute segments to calculate the power spectra. The high reference line and low reference line of station are then identified by drawing a probability density function graph( PDF)using the power spectral probability density function. Moreover, according to the anomalies of PDF graphs in 85 seismic stations, the abnormal noise is divided into four categories: dropped packet, low noise, high noise, and median noise anomalies.Afterwards, four selection methods are found by the high or low noise reference line of the stations, and the system of real-time monitoring of seismic noise is formed by combining the four selection methods. Noise records of 85 seismic stations in Fujian Province in July2013 are selected for verification, and the results show that the anomalous noise-recognition system could reach a 90% success rate at most stations and the effect of selection are very good. Therefore,it could be applied to the seismic noise real-time monitoring in stations.展开更多

In real life situation, electrical machines usually share voltage and current from common terminals and would easily influence each other. This will result in considerable amount of interferences among motors and doubt in identity of fault signals. Therefore, estimating the mutual influence of motors will help identifying the original signal from the environmental noise. This research aims at modelling the propagation of signals that are caused by faults of induction motors in power networks. Estimating the propagation pattern of fault signal leads to a method to discriminate and identify the original source of major events in industrial networks. Simulation results show that source of fault could be identified using this approach with a higher certainty than anticipated output coming of any individual diagnosis.展开更多

In this paper the problem of using nonlinear sensors such as distance and direction sensors for estimating a moving target is studied. The problem is formulated as a prudent design of nonlinear filters for a linear system subject to noisy nonlinear measurements and partially unknown input, which is generated by an exogenous system. In the worst case where the input is completely unknown, the exogenous dynamics is reduced to the random walk model. It can be shown that the nonlinear filter will have optimal convergence if the number of the sensors are large enough and the convergence rate will be highly improved if the sensors are deployed appropriately. This actually raises an interesting issue on active sensing: how to optimally move the sensors if they are considered as mobile multi-agent systems? Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate and validate the construction of our filter.展开更多
