The definition phase, analysis phase, design phase, build and test phase, and post production phase during PDM implementation are described. The implementation is divided into ten processes, which consist of the above different phases. The relationships between phases and processes are illustrated. Finally, a workflow is proposed to guide the implementing at a fixed price.展开更多

In this paper, a framework of the Virtual Huanghe (Yellow) River System was first presented from the view of technology, which included five main modules——data sources, 3D simulation terrain database, 3D simulation model database, 3D simulation implementation and application system. Then the key technoiogies of constructing Virtual Huanghe River System were discussed in detail: 1) OpenGL technology, the 3D graphics developing instrument, was employed in Virtual Huanghe River System to realize the function of dynamic real-time navigation. 2) MO and OpenGL technologies were used to make the mutual response between 3D scene and 2D electronic map available, which made use of the advantages of both 3D scene and 2D electronic map, with the macroscopic view, integrality and conciseness of 2D electronic map combined with the locality, reality and visualization of 3D scene. At the same time the disadvantages of abstract and ambiguity of 2D electronic map and the direction losing of virtual navigation in 3D scene were overcome.展开更多

It was proposed to include the acoustic quality model in the currently applied quantitative noise assessment in the management of urbanized environment. In particular, this model takes into account subjective features of sound quality, i.e.: loudness, sharpness, roughness, and fluctuation strength as well as noise mmoya^ce assessment obtained in laboratory conditions. The proposed way can be used in estimating investment costs of an acoustic barrier at the design stage展开更多

It is also a purpose to understand the extent to which the industry adopts the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI). The sample includes 35 hotels, which were analyzed in the years 2009 and 2010. Evidence is found supporting the fact management accounting is a tool incorporated in the daily management practices of hotels and useful to support the decision-making process. The proportion used of traditional management accounting techniques is higher than the proportion of use of contemporary ones. The adoption of these techniques is influenced by the fact of the hotels being subsidiaries of a multinational hotel chain, as well as by their annual turnover. In Portugal, there is a weak use of USALI. It is more used in the large hotels and in hotels with a foreign control. Management accounting supports hotels to improve their performance, thus becoming relevant to analyze management accounting practices used by them, particularly which instruments and techniques. In this context, this study, the first of its kind in Portugal, is justified with the increasing need for accurate and actual information of the accounting practices of the hotels operating in Portugal.展开更多
