This study is focused on the kinetic characteristics of photocatalytic degradation of gaseous organic compounds on modified titanium dioxide/activated carbon composite photocatalyst(MTA).The MTA,which co-doping with iron(Fe) and nitrogen(N),was synthesized by a sol-gel method,and its photocatalytic performance was investigated under different reaction conditions.The experimental data obtained were tested by the zero,first and second order kinetic model,and the factors affecting the kinetic model were analyzed.It was clearly demonstrated that the experimental data of toluene and acetone on MTA fit quite well with second order kinetic model equation,but the experimental data of formaldehyde fits well with zero order kinetic model equation. 展开更多

In order to obtain the thermodynamic description of the Mg-Ga binary system,the thermodynamic assessment of the system was carried out using the CALPHAD method through Thermo-calc software package based on the evaluation of all available experimental data from the published literature.The solution phases,including liquid,hcp(Mg) and orthorhombic(Ga),were described by the substitutional solution model,of which the excess Gibbs energies were expressed with the Redlich-Kister polynomial.Meanwhile,all intermetallic compounds,Mg5Ga2,Mg2Ga,MgGa,MgGa2 and Mg2Ga5,were modeled as stoichiometric compounds.A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters formulating the Gibbs energies of various phases in the Mg-Ga binary system were obtained finally.The much better agreement is achieved between the calculated results and the reported experimental data. 展开更多

AIM: To systematically review these minimally invasive approaches to infected pancreatic necrosis. METHODS: We used the MEDLINE database to investigate studies between 1996 and 2010 with greater than 10 patients that examined these techniques. Using a combination of Boolean operators, reports were retrieved addressing percutaneous therapy (341 studies), endoscopic necrosectomy (574 studies), laparoscopic necrosectomy via a transperitoneal approach (148 studies), and retroperitoneal necrosectomy (194 studies). Only cohorts with at least 10 or more patients were included. Non-English papers, letters, animal studies, duplicate series and reviews without original data were excluded, leaving a total of 27 studies for analysis. RESULTS: Twenty-seven studies with 947 patients total were examined (eight studies on percutaneous approach; ten studies on endoscopic necrosectomy; two studies on laparoscopic necrosectomy via a transperitoneal approach; five studies on retroperitoneal necrosectomy; and two studies on a combined percutaneous-retroperitoneal approach). Success rate, complications, mortality, and number of procedures were outcomes that were included in the review. We found that most published reports were retrospective in nature, and thus, susceptible to selection and publication bias. Few reports examined these techniques in a comparative, prospective manner. CONCLUSION: Each minimally invasive approach though was found to be safe and feasible in multiple reports. With these new techniques, treatment of infected pancreatic necrosis remains a challenge. We advocate a multidisciplinary approach to this complex problem with treatment individualized to each patient. 展开更多

On the example of copper fulvate, it is discussed the method of calculation of stability constants of fulvic complexes. At pH = 8, the complex formation of copper(ll) ions with fulvic acids was studied by the solubility method. Fulvic acids were separated from the river Mtkvari by the adsorption-chromotographic method. The charcoal (BAU, Russia) was used as a sorbent. The suspension of copper(If) hydroxide was used as the solid phase, on which was added the increasing quantity of standard solution of fulvic acids. In diluted solutions, at pH = 8 the dominant form of copper(lI) is copper dihydroxo complex Cu(OH)^zO. It was established that in the Cu(OH)2 (solid)-Cu(OH)^20 (solution)-FA^2-H20 system, dominates copper dyhydroxo fulvate complex with the structure 1:1, [Cu(OH)2FA]^2. The lack of data concerning the morphology of male cladocerans greatly impedes our understanding of the systematics of cladocerans. This is because the differentiation of males is of significant importance for distinguishing closely related species. Simocephalus himalayensis himalayensis Chiang & Chen, 1974 (Cladocera, Simocephalus) is an endemic cladoceran species in the Tibetan plateau, China. To date, no information has been available regarding the morphology and biology of its males. In this study, we provide the morphological and biological data of the males that were produced in laboratory populations. The male individuals are about 1.01–1.20 mm long; the margin of antennulae possess two sensory papilla; dorsal valve margin smooth. Two vas deferens are located between the supra-anal angle and the proximal anal teeth. Sperm is round with a diameter of two micrometers. An updated morphological description and reproductive data of the females of this species are also provided. 展开更多

Aiming at the contradiction between the depth control accuracy and the energy consumption of the self-sustaining intelligent buoy,a low energy consumption depth control method based on historical array for real-time geostrophic oceanography(Argo)data is proposed.As known from the buoy kinematic model,the volume of the external oil sac only depends on the density and temperature of seawater at hovering depth.Hence,we use historical Argo data to extract the fitting curves of density and temperature,and obtain the relationship between the hovering depth and the volume of the external oil sac.Genetic algorithm is used to carry out the optimal energy consumption motion planning for the depth control process,and the specific motion strategy of depth control process is obtained.Compared with dual closed-loop fuzzy PID control method and radial basis function(RBF)-PID method,the proposed method reduces energy consumption to 1/50 with the same accuracy.Finally,a hardware-in-the-loop simulation system was used to verify this method.When the error caused by fitting curves is not considered,the average error is 2.62 m,the energy consumption is 3.214×10^(4)J,and the error of energy consumption is only 0.65%.It shows the effectiveness and reliability of the method as well as the advantages of comprehensively considering the accuracy and energy consumption. 展开更多

A mass transfer model for devolatilization process of highly viscous media in rotating packed bed(RPB) was developed based on penetration theory and mass conservation.Before establishing the model,some mass transfer experiments of thin film were conducted in a designed diffusion cell including vacuum and feeding system. In this study,acetone was used as the volatile organic compound(VOC) and syrup as the highly viscous media.The thickness of thin film was changed by using different liquid distributor.It was found that bubbling played an important role in the devolatilization.The correlation of diffusion coefficient of acetone in highly viscous dilute solution was proposed.The relative error between predicted and experimental data was within the range of ± 30% for diffusion coefficient of acetone in syrup.A comparison of experimental data of RPB with model indicated that the relative error was within ± 30% for efficiency of acetone removal. 展开更多

The objective of present study was to produce poultry feed with a best quality using ternary mixture of industrial wastes: fish industry waste, sugar industry waste (molasses) and yeast waste after 15 d biotransformation using response surface methodology to design and analyze the experiment data. Changes in the nutritional quality and biochemical properties viz., pH, dry matter, conductivity, total organic carbon, total nitrogen, phosphorus, trimethylamine, protein, fat, carbohydrate, histamine, aflatoxins and minerals were evaluated during a biotransformation period of 15 d. The experimental findings revealed that the formulation including 50% of fish waste, 12.5% of molasses and 37.50% of yeast waste were found to be best quality poultry waste. It was characterized as odorless, with a stable pH, rich in protein, fat and carbohydrate as well as no alterations of bacteria and absence aflatoxins from the fifth day on ward. The nutritional value of the developed poultry fees was studied on a population of broiler chickens by incorporating with barley flour and eggshell. The product possesses a better nutritional quality comparable to commercially feed. 展开更多

The objective of this work is to study the efficiency of some surface modified phyllosilicate minerals (bentonite and glauconite) in the removal of dyes from textile waste water. It is found that complete dye removal was achieved by using 10-25g modified glauconite from solutions having a dye concentration of 10-50 mg/L. Adsorption data were modeled using Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms. Adsorption capacities and optimum adsorption isotherms were predicted by linear regression method. The analysis of experimental isotherms showed that Langmuir isotherm reasonably fit the experimental data in the studied concentration range for the adsorption of dye onto glauconite mineral surface where Freundlich isotherm fit the experimental data for the adsorption of dve onto bentonite mineral surface. 展开更多

Several analytical methods such as determination of formal nitrogen, determination of the protease hydrolysis activity, sensory evaluation method, experimental procedure, methods of analysis and processing of empirical data were used in this study. The findings showed that two out of four selected microorganism strains (one strain of fungi and three strains of bacteria denoted NM1, VK1, VK2, VK3, respectively) were the most appropriate for the cooperation among them and the production of %hao", which were coded NM1 and VK1. The suitable mixing proportion of strains of NM1 and VK1 was determined at 1:1.25, compatible with the 1:100 ratio of the varieties of microorganisms (in powder form) to tofu. 展开更多

A set of experimental data obtained at the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering in a vertical bundle cooled with supercritical R-12 was analyzed. The test section was a 7-element bundle installed in a hexagonal flow channel with three grid spacers. Data was collected at pressures of approximately 4.65 MPa for several different combinations of wall and bulk-fluid temperatures that were below, at, or above pseudocritical conditions. Analysis of the data has confirmed that there are three distinct heat-transfer regimes for forced convention in supercritical fluids: (1) normal heat transfer, (2) deteriorated heat transfer, and (3) enhanced heat transfer. It was also confirmed that the effects of spacers are evident which was previously observed in sub-critical experimental data. This work compares the wall and bulk fluid temperature data of the experiments to predictions based upon current 1-D correlations for heat transfer in supercritical fluids. 展开更多

Aiming at the shortage of sufficient continuous parameters for using models to estimate farmland soil organic carbon(SOC) content, an acquisition method of factors influencing farmland SOC and an estimation method of farmland SOC content with Internet of Things(IOT) are proposed in this paper. The IOT sensing device and transmission network were established in a wheat demonstration base in Yanzhou Distict of Jining City, Shandong Province, China to acquire data in real time. Using real-time data and statistics data, the dynamic changes of SOC content between October 2012 and June 2015 was simulated in the experimental area with SOC dynamic simulation model. In order to verify the estimation results, potassium dichromate external heating method was applied for measuring the SOC content. The results show that: 1) The estimated value matches the measured value in the lab very well. So the method is feasible in this paper. 2) There is a clear dynamic variation in the SOC content at 0.2 m soil depth in different growing periods of wheat. The content reached the highest level during the sowing period, and is lowest in the flowering period. 3) The SOC content at 0.2 m soil depth varies in accordance with the amount of returned straw. The larger the amount of returned straw is, the higher the SOC content. 展开更多

Experimental approach to investigation of NLCI (Non-local Consciousness Influence) effects is based on sensors of different design, and most of it based on transitional effects in gas-discharge plasma with several quasi-stable states is also presented. Computerized device for detecting NLCI is based on commercially available Gas Discharge Camera (www.ktispb.ru) and allows following time dynamics of several sensors in NLCI conditions. The typical sensors are: water, air, earth, and wood, this instrument was named "The 5th Element". Readings are taken continuously by special software every five or ten seconds in automatic mode. Sensitivity of the device was tested by detecting the influence of total sun eclipse in Siberia in 2008 and by detecting sunrise and sunset. Several experimental modalities have been developed: (1) directed NLCI of a person; (2) directed NLCI of a group of people; and (3) non-directed NLCI of a group of people.
