It is difficult to reveal the physical mechanisms of these clay effects on the conductivities of various rocks by physical laboratory measurements because the pore structure, micro distribution and content of clay inside a rock can not be observed and controlled during the experiments. We present a digital rock approach to study these clay effects on the electrical transport properties of reservoir rocks at pore scale using lattice gas automation (LGA) method. The digital rock samples are constructed with the information of grain size distribution from SEM images of reservoir rocks. The LGA is then applied on these digital rocks fully saturated with fluids to simulate the electrical transport properties for revealing the effects of volume and distribution patterns of clay on the non-Archie behaviors of the I-Sw relationship. The very good agreement between the simulated results and the laboratory measurements clearly demonstrates the validity of the LGA in numerical research of rock physics. Based on these studies, a new model has been developed for quantitatively describing the relationship between the saturation exponent and the volume of clay (Vsh). This development may improve the evaluation for the fluid saturations in reservoir rocks.展开更多

Then, lignite and its briquette were pyrolysed as materials to compare the nature of their pyrolysis. In this study, the experiment was carried out through a lab tube furnace, at a heating rate of 10 ~C/min, and the gas was analyzed and compared, which was collected at different temperatures. The results show that: in the pyrolysis temperature of 550-850 ℃, the semi-coke yield of briquette is 2%-6% higher than lignite, the tar yield of briquette is 2%-3% higher than lignite and the gas yield of briquette is 4%-9% less than lignite. The time required for complete release of the briquette is about 20 min less than lignite. The components in the pyrolysis gas of lignite and its briquette are the same, and their variation with the pyrolysis temperature is similar.展开更多

Can patients/older people be treated, monitored, and managed successfully with mobile and wearable technologies? The project involved three different groups of patients/participants: Patients with heart failure shock in "Home Monitoring Scenario"; Patients with different pathologies in "Virtual Ward Scenario"; Patients with limited mobility due to Neurological and Orthopaedic disease in "Rehabilitation Scenario". Due to the complexity of the issue, the methodological approach adopted must be multidimensional and interdisciplinary, addressing the complexity of the chronic patient from all viewpoints, not reducing it, yet analysing, understanding, rearranging, and managing it in an organic manner. The three different scenarios were allowed to identify several impacts on organizational and clinic management of chronic diseases, the tests showed significant improvements in quality of life of patients enrolled in the project. The data deriving from the three scenario demonstrate that wearable divide and ICT, in general, can empower both patients and physician personnel allowing them to be active part in the chronic disease management process. The PRO DOMO SUD experience derived from the Living Lab, this is a new paradigm for industrial research and development activities which allows the final users to actively collaborate with the designers and technicians in the development and test of new products and services aimed to them. The Living Labs stimulate social innovation by transferring research results from the closed industrial laboratory towards real life contexts where citizens and users become co-developers.展开更多

Based on the research, especially its geological condition, indoor experiments, numerical simulation and theoretical analysis were employed to determine the difficult coefficients of Yangquhe project. By using these means, the difficult coefficients of the deep rock engineering were determined. From a study of the effects of crustal stress and the roof mechanism on roadway stability, the transformation mechanism in Yangquhe coal mine has been determined. As a result of this research, the interactive support technology of prestressed cable mesh was developed and the technology tested in mining engineering, which proved to be feasible.展开更多

Gas cut and gas channeling happen seriously during oil and gas well cementing. The existing anti-migration additive has only effects on single trait, so it is difficult to meet cementing requirement. According to this situation we could use latex slurry to anti-gas channeling. We have synthesised a set of anti-gas channeling lightweight temperature-resistant latex slurry and formed a new channeling preventing latex slurry through plenty of previous laboratory experiments. Finally the performance of latex slurry on temperature-resistant, anti-gas channeling and the anti-gas channeling of cement paste are studied. The experimental results show that this latex system has strong temperature-resistant and anti-gas channeling, which completely meet the requirement of cementing in this area.展开更多

Although there have been many hydraulic and mechanical studies, there are few papers related to homogeneity of specimen. However, it is clear that homogeneity of specimen influences mechanical properties. In this paper, the use of micro-waves is proposed as method for making homogeneous specimens. The study results indicate that specimens made by micro-waves are more homogeneous than compacted specimens.展开更多

It required measures in situ of physicochemical parameters and chemical analysis at laboratory of major element and nutritive salts. The results of this study revealed the presence of pollutants in the Miliane river at El Fahs area and the eutrophication of water in the Bit M'Cherga reservoir. According to the classification of Stuyfzand and Piper, water in the wadis of Melah, Hdada, Miliane and Boudebbane respectively is brackish, salty, extremely hard, chlorinated, sulphated, calcic, and magnesic. Water in the Bir M'Cherga reservoir is characterized by calcic facies chlorinated sulphated and sodic. Thus, the Bir M'Cherga reservoir presents a worrying situation and a risk of qualitative degradation of its water.展开更多

The present project has as goal the verification and optimization of the implicit need of an OCRAMclima~ AHU (air handling units) in IAQ (indoor air quality) and its effectiveness in treatment and/or air purification, having as basis the legal national and European requirements for IAQ. This work was based on the study of the state of the art of the techniques in air purification and in the evaluation of their performance, culminating in the production of the prototype OCRAMclima~ NPS (nano purifying system). The purifying phenomena involved are UVGI (ultraviolet germicidal irradiation) and catalytic ionization of air. The performance test was accomplished in a closed loop circuit, which results, obtained by an independent IAQ analyst, were satisfactory, indicating the viability of application of this system to indoor air disinfection. The outcome revealed that the conjugating of both phenomena, the air sterilizing by UV and catalytic ionization, is efficient when used for air purification, mainly for volatile organic compounds and bioaerosols.展开更多
