In the following sustainable a...This study reflects the specificities of family small- and medium-sized enterprises （SMEs） which are related to values, culture, and relationships with the territory （local context）. In the following sustainable and corporate social responsibility （CSR）-oriented strategies, family businesses are ＂assisted＂ by the presence of entrepreneurial values which are tied to and derived from the social system in the territory in which they are located. The aim of this study is to demonstrate that the consolidation of stable and durable relations between the family business and the local context depends on the presence of shared values between the members of the family and the stakeholders, all components of civil society are within the same territory. Such values are the fruit of a given territory＇s civic traditions. They are the result of an anthropological culture which is typical of the socioeconomic environment in which the entrepreneur, the family, and the business are all rooted, thus, they are expressions of a culture ＂of the place＂.展开更多

When his granddaughter Hayuta plans an engagement party, the social and historical incongruities of the Holocaust in the context of contemporary Israeli society become apparent. Ordinary pleasures are matters of moral obloquy in the face of the unfathomable black hole of the Holocaust. While critics have charged Mendel＇s daughter with preoccupation with invidious social climbing and his granddaughter Hayuta with moral reprehensible compartmentalization of her historical and familial existences, Liebrecht unwittingly implies that historical trauma has very diverse and inexplicable effects on different family members： Some, like the daughter Bella, eventually wish to hear more about the experiences of her father （while feeling that his words will ＂＇ruin＂ her social life）, while Hayuta and Shifra his daughter-in-law react by shunning the speech of Mendel, which they experience as destroying their quotidian happiness.展开更多

The orphans trust the civil society more than the public government. Then they were the first large refugee group in Finland. They have got integration problems with Finnish society and from that perspective the author started to doubt that whether migrants adopted the same kinds of relationship with the local places and which kind of influence it would have on their integration. The author＇s aim for this study has been to explore their sense of belonging from transnational family and geographical perspectives. Relph argued that placelessness could be created either by individual itself or urban planning. With the content analyses the author analyzed 50 questions from seven respondents. The questionnaire includes the part of transnational contact keeping among kin members of transnational family, migration and respondents＇ sense toward urban surrounding where they lives. Emotional ties play a maior role in Finnish Somalis＇ diasporic life. Emotions intertwine around their life as members of transnational family and toward sense of place. Transnational family affects their perspectives toward western society and urban places. Placelessness is the first step toward integration and positive sense of place. One of the st...The main purpose of this article is to perform a technical-economic analysis of different microgeneration systems （photovoltaic and wind turbine systems） that can be installed in a single-family house. One of the strategies for improving energy performance of buildings is the installation of microgeneration systems. This will enable Portugal to meet the goal regarding the share of renewable sources on gross final energy consumption imposed by the European Commission climate change and energy package for 2020. The analysis of four different micro-generation systems will take into account the local availability of renewable resources and market technologies and the new Portuguese law concerning microgeneration to promote renewable energy sources in households. The Portuguese microgeneration legal framework is also highlighted.展开更多
