Two new circuit techniques to suppress leakage currents and enhance noise immunity while decreasing the active power are proposed. Eight-input OR gate circuits constructed with these techniques are simulated using 45nm BSIM4 SPICE models in HSPICE. The simulation results show that the proposed circuits effectively lower the active power, reduce the total leakage current, and enhance speed under similar noise immunity conditions. The active power of the two proposed circuits can be reduced by up to 8. 8% and 11.8% while enhancing the speed by 9.5% and 13.7% as compared to dual Vt domino OR gates with no gating stage. At the same time,the total leakage currents are also reduced by up to 80.8% and 82.4% ,respectively. Based on the simulation results,the state of the evaluation node is also discussed to reduce the total leakage currents of dual Vt dominos. 展开更多

The purpose of this work relates to study on the characteristics of ultra thin gate oxide (2 5nm thickness) and the effect of metal Al,Zr,and Ta contamination on GOI.The controlled metallic contamination experiments are carried out by depositing a few ppm contaminated metal and low pH solutions on the wafers.The maximum metal surface concentration is controlled at about 10 12 cm -2 level in order to simulate metal contamination during ultra clean processing.A ramped current stress for intrinsic charge to breakdown measurements with gate injection mode is used to examine the characteristics of these ultra thin gate oxides and the effect of metal contamination on GOI.It is the first time to investigate the influence of metal Zr and Ta contamination on 2 5nm ultra thin gate oxide.It is demonstrated that there is little effect of Al contamination on GOI,while Zr contamination is the most detrimental to GOI,and early breakdown has happened to wafers contaminated by Ta. 展开更多

When single phase earth fault occurs in the arc suppression coil grounding system, the amplitude of the transient capacitance current is high and decays fast, but the attenuation of the transient inductance current is much slower. This paper analyses the DC component of fault branch, and has found it is much bigger than that of the normal branches in transient state. All the simulation results obtained from three compensation types, different fault time and different wave cycles show that the DC component of fault branch is much higher than that of those normal branches. These results verify the effectiveness of taking the DC component as the method of fault line selection in the arc suppression coil grounding system. 展开更多

Al-Zn-Mg alloys with different Zn/Mg mass ratios were evaluated as sacrificial anodes for cathodic protection of carbon steel in 3.5 wt.%Na Cl solution.The anodes were fabricated from pure Al,Zn and Mg metals using casting technique.Optical microscopy,SEM-EDS,XRD and electrochemical techniques were used.The results indicated that with decreasing Zn/Mg mass ratio,the grain size ofα(Al)and the particle size of the precipitates decreased while the volume fraction of the precipitates increased.The anode with Zn/Mg mass ratio>4.0 exhibited the lowest corrosion rate,while the anode with Zn/Mg mass ratio<0.62 gave the highest corrosion rate and provided the highest cathodic protection efficiency for carbon steel(AISI 1018).Furthermore,the results showed that the anode with Zn/Mg mass ratio<0.62 exhibited a porous corrosion product compared to the other anodes. 展开更多

In the components of hydraulic capacitance in the system, the capacitance in soil (81.8×10-6m3·MPa ) is the biggest and its variability with suii water potential is extremely strong, the capacitance in plant (5.3×10-7m3·MPa-1) is much smaller than that in soil, and the capacitance in shoots (15.5×10-7m3·2MPa-1) is bigger than that in roots (8.4×10-7m3·2MPa-1). And by using another resonant LC filter at its output, it can not only eliminate the input current distortion at the vicinity of the zero crossing of the supply but also drastically reduce the 100 Hz output voltage ripple. Oil-air two-phase flow measurement was investigated with a Venturi and void fraction meters in this work. This paper proposes a new flow rate measurement correlation in which the effect of the velocity ratio between gas and liquid was considered. With the pressure drop across the Venturi and the void fraction that was measured by electrical capacitance tomography apparatus, both mixture flow rate and oil flow rate could be obtained by the correlation. Experiments included bubble-, slug-, wave and annular flow with the void fraction ranging from 15% to 83%, the oil flow rate ranging from 0.97 kg/s to 1.78 kg/s, the gas flow rate ranging up to 0.018 kg/s and quality ranging nearly up to 2.0%. The root-mean-square errors of mixture mass flow rate and that of oil mass flow rate were less than 5%. Furthermore, coefficients of the correlation were modified based on flow regimes, with the results showing reduced root-mean-square errors. 展开更多

On the other hand, when negative differential capacitance is included, the model can have no stable SSS and be in a self-sustained current oscillation behavior. Many zeotropic refrigerant mixtures are proposed as alternatives to some chlorofluorocar-bons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons ( HCFCs). An advantage of zeotropic mixtures is the possibility of reduction in entropy generation by matching the temperature glidings of refrigerant and heat-transfer fluid in both condenser and evaporator. Zeotropic mixtures are compared with pure re-frigerants to evaluate their exergetic losses. On the other hand, the special phenomena which result from temperature gliding are proved by experiments. A simple equation is obtained, to evaluate dif-ferent zeotropic mixtures' exergetic losses. The maximum flow rate of heat-transfer fluids is found in order that refrigerants phase change can be completed. Lastly, some examples of zeotropic mix-tures ( R407C, R405A and R414B) are given, and their exergetic losses and maximum flow rate of heat-transfer fluids in condenser are forecasted. 展开更多

Electrical capacitance tomography(ECT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that aims at visualizing the cross-sectional permittivity distribution and phase distribution of solid/gas two-phase flow based on the measured capacitance.To solve the nonlinear and ill-posed inverse problem:image reconstruction of ECT system,this paper proposed a new image reconstruction method based on improved radial basis function(RBF) neural network combined with adaptive wavelet image enhancement.Firstly,an improved RBF network was applied to establish the mapping model between the reconstruction image pixels and the capacitance values measured.Then,for better image quality,adaptive wavelet image enhancement technique was emphatically analyzed and studied,which belongs to a space-frequency analysis method and is suitable for image feature-enhanced.Through multi-level wavelet decomposition,edge points of the image produced from RBF network can be determined based on the neighborhood property of each sub-band;noise distribution in the space-frequency domain can be estimated based on statistical characteristics;after that a self-adaptive edge enhancement gain can be constructed.Finally,the image is reconstructed with adjusting wavelet coefficients.In this paper,a 12-electrode ECT system and a pneumatic conveying platform were built up to verify this image reconstruction algorithm.Experimental results demonstrated that adaptive wavelet image enhancement technique effectively implemented edge detection and image enhancement,and the improved RBF network and adaptive wavelet image enhancement hybrid algorithm greatly improved the quality of reconstructed image of solid/gas two-phase flow [pulverized coal(PC)/air]. 展开更多

In order to overcome the disturbance of noise,this paper presented a method to measure two-phase flow velocity using particle swarm optimization algorithm,nonlinear blind source separation and cross correlation method.Because of the nonlinear relationship between the output signals of capacitance sensors and fluid in pipeline,nonlinear blind source separation is applied.In nonlinear blind source separation,the odd polynomials of higher order are used to fit the nonlinear transformation function,and the mutual information of separation signals is used as the evaluation function.Then the parameters of polynomial and linear separation matrix can be estimated by mutual information of separation signals and particle swarm optimization algorithm,thus the source signals can be separated from the mixed signals.The two-phase flow signals with noise which are obtained from upstream and downstream sensors are respectively processed by nonlinear blind source separation method so that the noise can be effectively removed.Therefore,based on these noise-suppressed signals,the distinct curves of cross correlation function and the transit times are obtained,and then the velocities of two-phase flow can be accurately calculated.Finally,the simulation experimental results are given.The results have proved that this method can meet the measurement requirements of two-phase flow velocity. 展开更多

Using finite element method (FEM), the sensitivity field of the PWCP is investigated and the optimum sensor geometry is determiend in term of the characterisitc parameters. Then, the response of PWCP for the oil-water stratified flow is calculated, and it is found the PWCP has better linearity and sensitivity to the variation of water-layer thickness, and is almost independant of the angle between the oil-water interface and the sensor electrode. An observer-based fault diagnosis method and a fault tolerant control for open-switch fault and current sensor fault are proposed for interleaved flyback converters of a micro-inverter system. First, based on the topology of a grid-connected micro-inverter, a mathematical model of the flyback converters is established. Second, a state observer is applied to estimate the currents online and generate corresponding residuals. The fault is diagnosed by comparing the residuals with the thresholds. Finally, a fault-tolerant control that consists of a fault-tolerant topology for the faulty switch and a simple software redundancy control for the faulty current sensor, is proposed to achieve a fault-tolerant operation. The finite element method is used to calculate the sensitivity field of the sensor in a pipe with 20 mm inner diameter and the effect of sensor geometry on the distribution of sensitivity field is presented. Then, a horizontal oil–water two-phase flow experiment is carried out to measure the response of the double helix capacitance sensor, in which a novel method is proposed to calibrate the liquid holdup based on three pairs of parallel-wire capacitance probes. The operating circuits for LED (light emitting diode) lamp composed of diodes and DC capacitors only are proposed. The proposed circuit is based on a double-voltage rectifier circuit and a Cockcroft-Walton circuit. The circuit can operate LED without flicker, and is free from switching noise since high frequency switching circuit is not used. To replace an AC capacitor by a DC capacitor for the ballast, a diode is connected across the capacitor in parallel, and the operating voltage of LED unit is kept at the value greater than the peak voltage of the input power source. The circuit realizes high efficiency and high input power factor compared with the operating circuits on the market. Cockcroft-Walton-type circuit can operate many LED devices in series connection. Series connection is preferable for fabricating LED unit of a constant voltage characteristic. Moreover, fairly flat waveform of LED operating current is realized by Cockcrofl-Walton-type circuit, even though capacitor ballast is used. 展开更多

This paper presents and investigates planar and coaxial high frequency power transformers used for DC/DC converters in a three phase photo voltaic (PV) power systems. The winding structure including a Faraday shield between the primary and secondary windings is designed to minimize eddy current losses, skin and proximity effects, and to reduce the leakage inductance, and the inter winding coupling capacitance. Finite Element Method is employed to analyze the magnetic flux and eddy current distributions. The two different kinds of prototype high frequency transformers are designed and tested. The simulation and experiment results are demonstrated and compared with non-shielded transformers. The shielded transformers have achieved the expected results with a relatively small coupling capacitance, compared with the conventional high frequency transformer. This shield decreases the inter-winding coupling capacitance Cps. The topology of this shield has to be such that it acts as a Faraday screen while avoiding eddy current generation. 展开更多
